I never understood bag volumes. It's 27L but fits 18L of storage bags. I understand those bags have padding, and there's some additional space inside ( for the jacket), but does that account for the 9L difference?
Great question and the typical method involves a munch of small plastic balls. In most cases they add volume to the total for all the available external pockets
The Mystery ranch 2 day assault is 27 liters with dims of 21"x12"x11.25" vs Yeti's 20"x11.5"x10". It seems clear that we are missing some liters here and/or Yeti includes outside pockets and MR doesn't??
@@jackvice6292 2DAP is more like 29L, it can fit slightly more than a 26L GR1, see Brooks Review on it. MR edited volume to 29.7L at some point and then back to 27L? so maybe that 2L is including water bottle pockets? The Bozeman looks smaller though so not surprised if it fits less.

Thanks for the first look, JB. Any idea why they designed the bottom to be slanted? Seems like the lean could be solved by having a normal flat bottom, but maybe there’s something I’m missing.
This actually seems like the combo between a 2DAP and urban assault with some new features that I wanted mystery ranch to make all along. It just needs a patch covering the massive yeti logo and a few tags cut off. It looks great to me. Unfortunately it seems like they have yeti sized the price tag. Might need to wait for a sale

In your next video for this pack could you try the TPC8, maybe not completely filled, while using the interior bottle sleeves to see if it will fit? I just got this pack and am interested in getting this cube. I’d like to see if I could fit an 18oz & 26oz yeti inside while using one of these cubes for daily gym clothes/toiletries. Only using the outer bottle sleeves as a last resort
JB could you do a review of the Condor Nomad 25L? Its designed by a former mystery ranch pack designer and its got MR dna all over it. Very reminiscent of the Dragon.
Now this is a bomb. .. What I need to know how it compares sizewise with a2dp, I have and enjoy it but just too large for EDC and I always wished for same concept in smaller form factor, plus, this looks like a solid upgrade where a2dp falls short- material and stand up feature. .
I like this bag but still misses the mark for me. The big flat bottom looks convenient, but ugly! I wish they took the 2 day EDC, did away with the molle, and made the bottle pockets deeper. This one just looks too rigid and boxy to me. Is the stiffener in the bottom removable?
Hey man not sure if you have a new cam setup or mic or pre-amp but when watching this with headphones theres a lot of “buzzing” what you would likely hear if a cable or connection or other peripheral is causing interference.
So I think I goofed on the beginning. The box deflected most of the some from the microphone so when editing I boosted the audio a little too much without accounting for the static. Lesson learned and thanks for the feedback!
@@JBOutside1 no worries. Looking forward to a follow up. This is a 22L banger for me. At 27L seems a little too large for EDC and too small for travel. Also seems bulky for a two hander travel bag with other luggage.
Seems smaller by quite a bit. The compression straps don't seem to do much compression with the stiffer fabric, while on the old 2DAP you can really cinch it down to make it slim even though it is not as good looking. I noticed how the filleted flaps keep closing on itself and don't stay open because they are stiff, might break in later idk. Don't see why the need for thicker, stiffer and heavier 700d, 500d is plenty for these packs and the old ones like 3DAP are still going strong, just needed to use 3DAP's Cordura. I like the water bottle pockets and the sternum strap. But the look is too clean and boxy for me, could have kept some of the molle at the bottom and side, now it looks like a Catalyst. I wished there was a 2DAP that is like a MR Front but 22L in size with 2DAP laptop sleeve, the old 2DAP don't see much use if you have a 3DAP due to the closeness in size. You can see Andy Modell really stuffing the 2DAP in his 2DAP/3DAP comparison, it takes the 18L Peak Design medium cube and more.
