Guys listen to this person he is talking facts, I'm weak in maths I tried to cover everything so my cat 22 attempt didn't go as per my expectations i wish utube algorithm could suggest me this video sooner 😔 my suggestion cover arithmetic bases and practice lod 1 fully and then upgrade ur level to lod 2
Watched 10-15 CAT videos and i found myself lost sab imp sab karo bolre. watched 3:15 min of this video and this guy already simplified which coaching institutions don’t do even after paying them 30-40k
First of all grateful for your promptness to reply to student's questions. 10th 91% 12th 80% Bcom (currently ty) Till now maintained above 8 cgpa Simultaneously was pursuing CA . However not able to clear any of the groups in inter by failing in for 2.0 years.. Quant weak... Ready to work hard however need to know preparation time and targeting iimA only.. General category , around 587 seats , having no work experience and hence around 206 seats for me so is entry in iimA possible ? Time I have 9 mths as of now. And will ca failure consider as gap..(although marks showed upward trend.)
thank you for the kind words bachhe.. now.. beta ji.. the biggest mistake you can do while preparing for CAT is targeting a particular college. There are so many students I know who could have easily reached IIM K,L or I but in their greed for IIM A or FMS, slipped down heavily and are not even in a top 25 college today.. CAT is a test that is best aced by those who know themselves and prepare realistically... those who aim blindly always make mistakes (because the pattern changes ever year) and pickup negative marks.. Coming to preparation.. well, there is nothing new I have tell you for the time being.. there are 4 videos I have made (1 o QA, 1 on LR and 2 on VARC), watch them..and if you have any questions left even after that.. message me.. :)

hello sir recently I've started with my CAT preparation and have also joined the coaching classes but I'm too weak in maths and people around me in my classes are stoo smart I'm losing my confidence that I can't do it but I really want to
dekho mere bachhe.. in my 6 years as teacher I have seen countless 'smart' 'super intelligent' students perform poorly in this test.. while a lot of so called 'weak' students did well and sometimes extremely well.. CAT is a marathon.. and only those who consistently put in the hard work do well in the end.. trust me.. 70% of those smart kids in your batch will not have the discipline or motivation or put in consistent hard work.. some will stop after 2 weeks, some after 2 months and then all will wake up in the month of October realising that CAT is too close and they have wasted too much of their time.. If you can be different.. if you can just be among those who do not sleep or stop working hard after 2 months.. if you can be one of those who do not take any break.. most students will study for 2 weeks, then take a break of 2 weeks, then study again for 2 weeks and then take break again.. if you can be the consistent one, then you will do it.. trust me..

@@PerennialLearner Yes sir found it. Thankyou. One more thing, can you please make a video about some kind of schedule or how much time to allocate to different subjects and how to approach studies now. As there are just a few months left and too much to cover due to starting late, it is all very overwhelming and confusing as to what to start and what to keep for later. It'll be very helpful.

Hello sir, I am a MBBS graduate and working in a clinic and giving interviews for some pharmaceutical companies as well , what percentile should i target for cat as I am thinking to take the exam in 2024
you should not target any percentile kiddo... if you ask you to target 99 even though your maximum potential itself is 95, will you give up on the exam? Or if I ask you to target 90 even though your potential is 99, will you not score 99 and say - I will only score 90 because sir has asked me to? No, right? Then why do you want to target a score? Your job is to study and study well.. prepare and prepare well.. and then after a year of preparation you can see how much you get. That's it.
Sir please guide kr dijiye i need ur help mujhe cat ki preparation karni hai but samjh nahi aa raha hai konsi coaching lu...mera bhut time waste bhi ho Raha hai
I usually ask students weak at Maths to work with RS Aggarwal and Sarvesh Verma both but since you don't have time, don't use RS Aggarwal and just use Sarvesh Verma directly..
Hello sir I dont have any basic knowledge in quants as im a commerce student Should i start with nishit Sinha quants for basics if yes What should i do next guide me sir pl Also please reply me in English sir I don't know hindi Thank you 🙏
hello beta... well, instead of Nishit Sinha I would suggest Sarvesh Verma (for question practice) and Ashu Jain (for Theory).. you can also use NCERT for theory or you can buy a proper video course or use a youtube channel (there are many) for theory... Nishit Sinha's questions have too many errors.. so I usually ask students to use it as a secondary book.
Sir your video motivated me so muchhh !!!!! I need one suggestion from you , I actually left mathematics after class 10th . Extremely scared of maths but I want to improve my basics first ..and I am getting confused with so much of yt videos ,dont know how to start for improving the basics , I have started with standard 6 book 😅. Could you please suggest something ...
happy I could be of any help beta.. well, 6th standard is fine and good but more than the book, the way you work with it matters.. don't be theory oriented, don't try to mug up methods or formulae and don't try to divide questions into specific 'types'... that will make your job harder but only then can you improve maths.. otherwise.. book to tumne school me bhi use ki hi thi beta.. koi faayda hua tha.. nahi na? To is baar.. alag tarike se use karna us book ko..
Sir, I've completed my BA English hons this year i.e. 2023. I'm aiming for CAT 2024. Will the drop be a problem for all IIMs? Can't I get any decent college?
Hi I see that you are replying to student's comments here. I had appeared for GMAT in June. That didn't go as planned. Now at this phase, I've completed VARC syllabus and I'm practising daily, I've recently started quants and DILR. Quants, in arithmetic ,I'm done with 50%of the syllabus. Planning to study important topics , solve previous year questions. I'm challenging myself to get done with atleast LOD 1, and solve previous year questions for every topic till September end. In October, I wanna give time to myself to give sectional, mocks and analyse my weak topics and work hard on them. I'm very weak at quants and even after studying, I just panic when I attempt any tests . I hope this plan works for me. I've less time , do you've any suggestion?
Well, either your QA is not as weak as you think it is... or you are making a big blunder by trying to cover everything.. because I have never seen a student in my life who was truly weak at Maths and who could actually cover everything in just 3 months.. that's practically impossible.. the LOD I of all the topics of QA is basically CBSE 8-10 level.. so you are telling me that what you could not do in 1.5 years back in school, you will do now in 2 weeks.. successfully.. it makes no sense to me beta.. the only case in which I see it working is - if your Maths is actually good but you have a psychological barrier and you think that it is bad.. I have taught a few such students in past... and it became clear to me in just 2-3 classes that their Maths was not bad, they just thought so... Once again.. you need to be objective.. if you are one of those students that I have talked about above, then it's ok, your plan is good and will work well.. but if your Maths is actually weak.. then I don't see how you can cover 1.5 years worth of stuff in just 2 weeks... you should give yourself more time.. and should try to avoid certain things even in Arithmetic... PS: I have no idea which category you belong to.. so I have given you just my analysis.. be objective and choose wisely..
Sir i am good at VARC but very bad in quant and lrdi my coaching institutions TIME , can’t help me with this please share me some tips should I just shap my skills on arithmetic ? But what about lrdi then 😌
@@purpleblissxbts9015hey buddy I'm from elites grid institution but honestly saying if you are weak at mathematics then it might not be a good option for you but before joining EG you need to learn how to do basic maths problems atleast
@@purpleblissxbts9015 sry for late response I don't actually use TH-cam a lot so I couldn't saw yours reply! So for me EG is a great platform it provides you a lot of SOURCES and TEST sessions and compared to its fee structure they do justice for each and every penny of ours ! Here is my experience from 3 subjects from EG Quants : hunny sir is so popular for quants in CAT coaching world.for me he explains every small thing in a very detailed way and no doubt he is a very good teacher but the only problem if you are not good at quant basics then I don't think he is perfect for you because sometimes he skips the basic part he might think that we are all already know about those basics parts but some times we don't!! LRDI : gaurav sir detailing in teaching is ultimate 🔥 everyone thinks LRDI is a typical subject and not so easy to understand the questions .but gaurav sir taught us to treat them as a brain iq games under his mentorship I never felt that lrdi is a hard topic. but the only thing I don't like from him is most of the time when students ask him about something they didn't understand instead of clearing those doubts he made jokes about them like "go and sleeps" "why are you preparing for cat"like these apart from that he is very good VARC : generally we don't need a mentor to this subject . we can prepare for RCs and VA from the internet.but shazahar sir gives us very effective tips while solving RC questions.he teaches different types of RCs and strategies to eliminate unrelated options.but shazahar sir is so friendly compared to other teachers.sometimes you feel overwhelmed while listening to other two classes .but you always feel engaged in VARC classes because of his way of talking. Finally,it's a great experience for me to be in ELITES GRID That's one of the best decisions which I took considering CAT preparation Go for it 👍 If you got any other doubts DM me in Instagram (id:akash_ruok(no profile ))u
Sir! I'm Lakhveer. I'm a B.A. graduate of DU. I was confused about whether I should prepare for UPSC or CAT. I never thought that I can crack CAT but now with some inspiration from my IIM buddies, I got the courage to think about CAT. But sir my math is very weak, so what should I do?
I have explained it in detail in this video beta... Just follow that.. you need to solve only 3-4 questions correctly to clear the sectional cut-off for Quants.. and for that you don't need to do anything else but what I have already said in the video.. But yes.. even that will require a lot of hard work because you will have to practice a lot and above all, you will have to get out of your comfort zone.. if you can do that.. :) you will be there where you want to be..
Hello sir, i just got finished with my bcom degree. Scored 91.4 in 10th, 90.4 in 12th commerce without maths and 81 in grad. I was always confused what should i do career wise. Struggling a lot after my dad due to financial constraints but want to give my mom the best life ahead but I'm scared. Will i be able to do that. And if i attempt the cat 24 it would be 2 year gap. Will it be a problem? Or should i just seek a normal job due to circumstances and give up dreaming big.
7th se beta... you can use NCERT or Sarvesh Verma directly.. that doesn't matter.. which book you use is less important, how you use that book is more important mere bachhe... It's important to spend time with questions and think over them.. if you don't do that and just try to complete the syllabus, then it doesn't matter how many and which all books you complete, Maths will still evade you...
Hello sir ..I just completed my 12th with 9.1 cgpa and I am pursuing bcom programme from Motilal Nehru College DU. From past 3-4 months I was preparing for Ca foundation & and I just left my prep and I am going to start prep for CAT . So I want to know that , if I'll start prep for CAT and focus on my maths as well because my maths is weak , so will these 2-3 years give impact on my performance?
I am assuming that you are planning to appear for CAT in 2024 mere bachhe.. Now, assuming that.. yes, 2 years will be more than enough.. but please do not make the mistake that most non-engineering students make.. they focus on Quants so damn much that they forget eventually they have to pull their marks using Verbal. After all, you can't and you shouldn't compete with an IITian in the quants section.. that strategy is bound to backfire.. so it's alright as long as you can do just decent in the Quants section.. because there is the verbal section to score high in.. but 90% of the students figure this out in the month of Oct.. that though their Quant has become average now, because they never focused on Verbal, even their Verbal has remained average (while it should have been excellent) and then they start panicking because they overall scores remain low inspire of so much of hard work.. don't make that mistake.. everything else will be fine.. there is enough time..
Hi, I'm in 2nd year of college now and want to start preparing for CAT . I have to continue the college studies and also there are no coaching institutes for CAT nearby . Can you suggest me how should I start my preparation??
yes yes.. they are... for theory, they do help... I usually don't recommend them, however, because most students who think of using them are those who struggle with maths.. and I always feel that when something didn't work the last time, why would it work this time.. so, I ask students to try something different instead... But if you keep this tiny concern aside, those books are great to start with..
for CAT, you should focus on 7th, 8th and 9th beta... you can reach 90-93 percentile in QA if you master that.. for an even better score, you should pickup 10th as well... there is no need to go beyond that... upto 10th standard maths is enough to score 99 percentile.. but please know that CAT's QA is very deep... so merely knowing formulae and methods won't be enough like it was in boards..
and yet, today the answer key came out and all the percentile predictors predict that to score 90 percentile you needed to solve only 5 questions in QA, while there were around 7-9 Arithmetic questions in the paper.. :) This is the simple thing students don't understand beta.. no matter how the paper is, Arithmetic will always be enough to score 90-95 percentile in CAT's QA... Students see the paper and start counting questions instead of simply saying - let me solve just the Arithmetic questions instead of trying to judge the paper.. without panicking in the paper if any student even this year had solved only the Arithmetic portion completely, that student would've got 92-94 percentile for sure.. but students started counting questions, panicked and majority did not solve even 3-4 questions correctly..

Sir I have heard doing NCERT is good for basics?? Should I do Ncert chapters first? Then start quants?? I have time. And if yes.. what chapters of class 9 & 10th should I do?? Please help 🥹
ye same question abhi 2 din pele kisi to bachhe ne poocha tha.. I will give you the exact same reply jo maine usko diya tha beta.. studentsko lagta hai ke books and material matter karte hain beta ji... :) but that is a myth.. You also used the same NCERT books that an IITian used in school.. but one person reached IIT and another got weak at Maths.. why?? Because the book doesn't matter.. what matters is how you use it... if you are going to focus on theory and not practice enough.. then all books are useless.. If you are going to improve your calculations first.. then spend very little time on theory and then practice a lot.. A LOT.. without jumping to the answer key every time you get stuck.. then the same NCERT is good enough for you to master Maths.. any book is good then.. So.. don't focus on the material.. focus on the right practices..
as far as which chapter are concerned, if you are so weak at Maths that you want to start with NCERT, then you should start with 7th standard NCERT and go up to 9th.. that's it... and you should do all chapters related to Numbers, Arithmetic and Simple Equations..
Hello sir Kya ye 2024 me applicable hoga sir i m weekest in maths till now and i havve only 8-7 months.. Kya srif arithmetic and average se. Mai acha score kar skti hu.. Tops iims ko target kar skti hu .. Sir plzzz reply.
@@kirtimishra7715 I will give you last year's stats kiddo.. in CAT 2023 (which is considered to have the toughest QA section ever) there were 8 questions from Arithmetic in the QA section (quite low, I know.. the lowest in the last 10 years for that matter) but you needed a score of just 20 to score 95%ile.. which means if someone had solved just 7 out of those 8 questions (only Arithmetic and nothing else) then that person would've scored 95%ile in the QA section.. So, yes, it is very much relevant for CAT 2024 as well... But yes, then your Arithmetic should be super strong.. because we are talking about solving 7 out of 8 questions in the paper.. which means you will have to solve the tough questions as well...
Bachhe.. every year the quality of mock changes from institute to institute.. so ideally this question should be asked in June.. but still.. two of TIME/IMS/CL/CRACKU would be there in the list
Sir what would you suggest for quants to someone if they are appearing for nov 24 as non-engineer background and started recently, for preparation is number system necessary for these arithmetic and algebra sections? Pls reply.
sorry the late reply beta... in number systems, only surds and indices and LCM are needed beta.. you can ignore the rest.. and then directly jump to percentages, ratios, averages and other topics of arithmetic..
Sir when I Study Maths or quant i am able to solve the problem during lectures, but when it come to practice and mock i am unable to Solve Questions, how to improve that?
it usually happens when students memorise methodologies to solve questions beta... and that's the problem with formulas or methodologies.. they give you an instant gratification, but fail to address the actual problem.. which is only solved when you work on your fundamentals (oral calculation, HCF/LCM, percentages and ratios) diligently... if you can't solve 80% of the questions from the mentioned topics orally, then you should not proceed further to any other topic in Quant.. that's it.. work on them, then move forward.. you will not face any problem..

pehle to.. make 30-40 minutes everyday separately for calculation practice mere bachhe.. it's very important.. then focus on these topics in the same sequence - 1. HCF/LCM 2. Surds and Indices 3. Percentages 4. Ratios 5. Averages 6. Profit and Loss 7. Mixtures and Allligations 8. Time and Work 9. nope nope nope.. Arun Sharma is a very high level book that assumes you are already comfortable with Maths... it has almost no theory and all the formulae are given without any derivation because the book assumes that you will be able to derive them yourself.. bachhe.. that means your Arithmetic is still very weak.. evaluate the mock and see how many Arithmetic questions you are getting.. I am sure it would be 10 at least (if not then the institute is making poor quality mocks).. and see which all questions you are not able to solve.. then work on your weak areas..

yes, kid, you do... it doesn't matter how much you need to score.. those who reach good colleges don't ask me 'kitna laana hai'.. they study and see how far they can reach.. if I tell you you need 98 but your potential is 99.9, will you not score it and limit yourself to 98??? if I tell you you need 99 but your potential is 95, will you give up or screw your test in the greed for extra 4 percentile?? So, don't ask this question.. the question is useless for all practical matters.. study and see how much you can improve, how far you can go.. that's it..

well... Geometry is anyhow not needed for CAT beta.. without it also you can score 99.. Coming to Arithmetic.. If you still have fear of Algebra, then there is a great great chance that your Arithmetic is still not strong enough.. What is your accuracy in CAT level/LOD 2 questions?

yes, kiddo.. it will help you for sure... but you tried NCERT in school as well and it did not work.. which means there is something different you will have to try, right?? Same old process repeat karoge to same old result milega... which was not good...
@@anshikashukla7915 First, you need to improve your calculations.. every single student weak at Maths that I have met in my life had poor calculations.. and a simple logic should tell us that if you can't even do addition, subtraction, multiplication and division comfortably (orally) how will you learn advance concepts??? You must be comfortable adding 3 digit numbers without pen paper and must be comfortable multiplying any 2 digit numbers without pen paper... Second, the time you devote to maths should be divided between theory and practice in the ratio of 1:20.. basically for every one hour that you spend on learning theoretical concept or formulas, you should be spending minimum 20 hours on solving questions.. So, if it takes you 3 hours to finish the theoretical portion of percentages, then you must spend at least 60 hours on practicing percentages questions... if you go back to the theory portion once again somewhere in between and let's say spend 1 hour on revising theoretical portion after one week.. then you must add 20 more hours to your practice time as well... Third, any question for which you have taken any kind of help from the answer key or solution or a video explanation must not be counted in your practice time... Any student who follows these 3 rules while working on Maths succeeds for sure... it comes with a guarantee... but all 3 must be followed kiddo... 2 out of 3, or 1 out of 3 won't work...

What you are saying is impossible mere bachhe.. I have never ever come across a single student in my life who was good with calculations but struggled with the rest of Maths (At least Arithmetic and Algebra).. Either you are overestimating your ability in calculation... or you are a first.. in which case, I would like to talk to you on Telegram... because it might teach me something..
Good evening sir, Im a student of bcom hons 2nd year my maths is literally very weak I have started prep for my cat with modern maths which is basically the syllabus of 11 12maths . Im nt getting a single concept as they are totally new chapters to me so should I start with arthemetic part i.e till 10 syllbs almost to gain some confidence.
Hello beta... well, why did you start with Modern Maths??? CAT gives very heavy weightage to simple questions.. and extremely low weightage to all the heavy mathematical topics like Geometry and Modern Maths.. so, to be honest, it makes no sense to start with that area which gets the lowest weightage in an exam.. Only those who have already reached 99 percentile and are trying to push for 99.5 or 100 need modern maths.. nobody else..

@@Aayushkumar2 bachhe.. I don't recommend students any one particular institute to join because a institute that is good for me might not be good for you. Har student ki need alag hoti hai beta.. I can only say that among the online institutes, Elite's Grid and Takshzilla are the ones I like the most. You can evaluate them and if you feel they offer what you need, then make a decision. But you have to evaluate them yourself considering your weak and strong areas.
Thank you sir I’ll go for Ashu Jain book first because my base is really weak at quant section and I’m so scared of, I can’t even decide wether I should go for CAT or NON-CAT exams,It’s so confusing for me. I don’t have even working experience as right now I’m pursuing English honours and this is last year. Would you please guide me sir ? :((
well.. beta.. improving calculation is one of the easiest things to achieve.. all you have to do is make an excel sheet that generates random numbers between 1 and 100 and then simply spend 20 minutes thrice everyday adding, subtracting and multiplying these number orally.. that's it.. Only thing is - this process requires a lot of patience which is why 90% of the students don't follow it since they get bored.. but if you can be among those 10% who do this simple exercise for 30 days.. you will see that your calculation will have improved drastically.. Once your calculation improves.. your basics will improve automatically.. just spend a lot of time solving percentages, ratios and averages.. that's it...
@@Musicfromworldofosho yes it can kiddo... but ski bhi 1 month regular practice Karin padti hai.. daily around 1 hour.. don't think that you can just memorise some rules of Vedic maths and your calculation will improve... that won't happen.. if you practice Vedic mathematics's techniques every day for a month.. yes, it will help a Lott..
I never answer this question beta.. you score what you can.. if your maximum potential is 99, you score it even you can get into ABC with 97, you still score 99 because you should fulfil your potential.. but if your maximum potential is 95, you score that.. even if it won't get you into ABC, you still score 95 and don't chase 97 or 98 blindly.. and you be happy with KLI or MDI... because in a blind hunt for ABC you might lose KLI as well..

yes beta... you can... though, in general, Geometry is considered to be the toughest part of Maths (after PnC) because of the sheer volume of theorems and formulae in it.. and you can not master just one part of Geometry and do good in the exam.. you have to master 80% of it at least because each question will be a mixture of multiple different concepts.. which is why I (most of the times) do not recommend non-engineering students to get into it because they usually give up after trying to 3-4 months... Rest, if you feel you can do it because you have some logic behind taking it up, well, then give it a shot...
@@abhiram8139 In that case, focus on Arithmetic and Algebra bachhe... you will get more questions from these two and as I said, Geometry is visual (so it seems easy) but is very very difficult...
kar to sakte ho.. par karna kyo hai..? Going by the message you have written, I think your English is pretty week mere bachhe.. which means you need at least 3-4 hours every day to work on your English as well.. How will manage your preparation if you set aside 8 hours for QA only.. Do plan strategically.. it shouldn't happen that in order to get 6-10 extra marks in the QA section, you loose 20 in VARC... there is a sectional cut-off in the test as well which you need to clear..
Sir suggest me . Now im in final year bcom. From kuk .my class 10th marks is 86%and 12th marks is 92%. My category is obc. Now i am confused in upsc/bank po / cat merely for fms or any other affordable fee mba institute. my maths ,varc and lrdi all are weak . So how can i began my journey to sucess . Sir please help.
beta ji.. I have seen too many kids wasting their life for UPSC and Bank PO, so my suggestion will be to stay away from these two exams as they have a very very low success rate which makes way more tough than any other exam in the country, including CAT. Now, don't run after FMS either.. you will get a bank loan easily.. I have done my MBA on loan.. all my students have done theirs on loan.. and you don't give a damn about that loan 3 years after your MBA when you are making 1.2-1.5 lakhs per month.. So.. first of all.. decide what you are going to do.. if it's CAT, stay open for all good colleges and do not target only FMS or ABC or other colleges that are blindly targeted by other people in the country.. if you think you can work like that.. message me, I will tell you how you should proceed.. But first, think and decide.. properly.

Kya muje ase me MBA ke liye try karna thik rahega. kuch samj ni aa raha career ke liye kya kare pl help 🙏🙏
you should most definitely try kiddo.. and yes, you can get a good college for sure.. but.. apna year gap mat badha.. koshish kar ke koi job mil jaaye.. and uske sath dheere dheere 2-3 saal laga kar prepare kar.. Ek baar me ek subject karegi to easily ho jaayega.. teeno subjects ka pressure sath me le legi to obviously dikkat aayegi.. to lamba plan bana.. and uske liye important hai ke job dhoonhd koi.. then kar lena MBA.. uski koi age limit to hai nahi.. and work-ex se profile bhi improve hogi teri to chances bhi improve honge selection ke..
you can beta... nothing wrong in that and college bhi mil jaayeg agar score kaafi achha aaya to.. but kitna prepare karega exams ke liye?? Job kyo avoid kar raha hai.. 1-2 saal job kar le.. exams to uske baad bhi diye ja sakte hain...
well, there is only thing to do beta.. get a good CAT score.. that's it.. there are certain colleges which won't give you call no matter what (IIM A, B and Indore for example) but then there are many more which will.. given that score very very well in CAT... so, focus on that.. and things will be fine..

And will ca failure consider as gap..(although marks showed upward trend.)

beta ji.. the biggest mistake you can do while preparing for CAT is targeting a particular college.

If you can be different.. if you can just be among those who do not sleep or stop working hard after 2 months.. if you can be one of those who do not take any break.. most students will study for 2 weeks, then take a break of 2 weeks, then study again for 2 weeks and then take break again.. if you can be the consistent one, then you will do it.. trust me..
Thank you sir v helpful

Hello sir, I am a MBBS graduate and working in a clinic and giving interviews for some pharmaceutical companies as well , what percentile should i target for cat as I am thinking to take the exam in 2024
you should not target any percentile kiddo... if you ask you to target 99 even though your maximum potential itself is 95, will you give up on the exam?
Or if I ask you to target 90 even though your potential is 99, will you not score 99 and say - I will only score 90 because sir has asked me to?
No, right?

hello beta... well, instead of Nishit Sinha I would suggest Sarvesh Verma (for question practice) and Ashu Jain (for Theory).. you can also use NCERT for theory or you can buy a proper video course or use a youtube channel (there are many) for theory...
Nishit Sinha's questions have too many errors.. so I usually ask students to use it as a secondary book.

happy I could be of any help beta.. well, 6th standard is fine and good but more than the book, the way you work with it matters.. don't be theory oriented, don't try to mug up methods or formulae and don't try to divide questions into specific 'types'... that will make your job harder but only then can you improve maths.. otherwise.. book to tumne school me bhi use ki hi thi beta.. koi faayda hua tha.. nahi na?

So for me EG is a great platform it provides you a lot of SOURCES and TEST sessions and compared to its fee structure they do justice for each and every penny of ours !
Here is my experience from 3 subjects from EG
Quants : hunny sir is so popular for quants in CAT coaching world.for me he explains every small thing in a very detailed way and no doubt he is a very good teacher but the only problem if you are not good at quant basics then I don't think he is perfect for you because sometimes he skips the basic part he might think that we are all already know about those basics parts but some times we don't!!
LRDI : gaurav sir detailing in teaching is ultimate 🔥 everyone thinks LRDI is a typical subject and not so easy to understand the questions .but gaurav sir taught us to treat them as a brain iq games under his mentorship I never felt that lrdi is a hard topic. but the only thing I don't like from him is most of the time when students ask him about something they didn't understand instead of clearing those doubts he made jokes about them like "go and sleeps" "why are you preparing for cat"like these apart from that he is very good
VARC : generally we don't need a mentor to this subject . we can prepare for RCs and VA from the internet.but shazahar sir gives us very effective tips while solving RC questions.he teaches different types of RCs and strategies to eliminate unrelated options.but shazahar sir is so friendly compared to other teachers.sometimes you feel overwhelmed while listening to other two classes .but you always feel engaged in VARC classes because of his way of talking.
Finally,it's a great experience for me to be in ELITES GRID
That's one of the best decisions which I took considering CAT preparation
Go for it 👍

I have explained it in detail in this video beta...
Just follow that.. you need to solve only 3-4 questions correctly to clear the sectional cut-off for Quants.. and for that you don't need to do anything else but what I have already said in the video..
But yes.. even that will require a lot of hard work because you will have to practice a lot and above all, you will have to get out of your comfort zone.. if you can do that.. :) you will be there where you want to be..

Same maina bhi chor dia ca foundation
Hi, I'm in 2nd year of college now and want to start preparing for CAT . I have to continue the college studies and also there are no coaching institutes for CAT nearby . Can you suggest me how should I start my preparation??
Which book of anshu jain.. "Quant simplified for cat? Or any else
the link to the book is in the description of the video beta.. that one..
Ncert books 8th 9th 10th maths useful for quant basic ???
Please tell me sir
yes yes.. they are... for theory, they do help... I usually don't recommend them, however, because most students who think of using them are those who struggle with maths.. and I always feel that when something didn't work the last time, why would it work this time.. so, I ask students to try something different instead...
But if you keep this tiny concern aside, those books are great to start with..
Should i focus on 9th and 10th maths or 11 12th maths sir
For gaining basic maths knowledge
Because i dont have basic knowledge
for CAT, you should focus on 7th, 8th and 9th beta... you can reach 90-93 percentile in QA if you master that.. for an even better score, you should pickup 10th as well... there is no need to go beyond that... upto 10th standard maths is enough to score 99 percentile..
but please know that CAT's QA is very deep... so merely knowing formulae and methods won't be enough like it was in boards..
Sir CAT 2023 me algebra was more than arithmetic 😢😢
and yet, today the answer key came out and all the percentile predictors predict that to score 90 percentile you needed to solve only 5 questions in QA, while there were around 7-9 Arithmetic questions in the paper.. :)
This is the simple thing students don't understand beta.. no matter how the paper is, Arithmetic will always be enough to score 90-95 percentile in CAT's QA...
Sir mujhe concepts samjh aajate hai but meri calculation bht jada weak h like bht hi jada imagine a 5th std student usse bhi weak samjh lijiye mai kya karu maine 2022 me cat diya tha jisme varc me 72 percentile and lrdi me 49 percentile thi ( because of Di mujhe bilkul ni banti concepts samjh aate h but calculation ni hoti) lekin quants me minus laga hua tha jisse overall percentile meri bht niche gir gayi thi 31 percentile aayi thi maths me sab kharab ho gaya tha isse saal mai wapass dena chahti hu cat kyu ki varc mai 90+ pahucha lungi isse bar and lr bhi kr lungi but quant me kaise kya karu kaise karu kuch samjh ni aa rha h similar for DI please help me..
beta.. when you know your calculation is weak, then that's what you give the most time to.. that's it..
just calculate.. nothing else..
no tricks, no methods, no shortcuts, no vedic mathemtics... just download any calculation app and start practicing (rankyourbrain.com is a good website for the same as well)
Sir I have heard doing NCERT is good for basics??

Sir plzzz reply
Hello, Sr I didn't joint any coaching, I show you're all the videos, please 🙏 suggest me any two best test series

Thanks sir
Sir what would you suggest for quants to someone if they are appearing for nov 24 as non-engineer background and started recently, for preparation is number system necessary for these arithmetic and algebra sections? Pls reply.
sorry the late reply beta... in number systems, only surds and indices and LCM are needed beta.. you can ignore the rest.. and then directly jump to percentages, ratios, averages and other topics of arithmetic..
Bro gave 11months tenure but i have only 11 days left
Sir when I Study Maths or quant i am able to solve the problem during lectures, but when it come to practice and mock i am unable to Solve Questions, how to improve that?
it usually happens when students memorise methodologies to solve questions beta... and that's the problem with formulas or methodologies.. they give you an instant gratification, but fail to address the actual problem.. which is only solved when you work on your fundamentals (oral calculation, HCF/LCM, percentages and ratios) diligently... if you can't solve 80% of the questions from the mentioned topics orally, then you should not proceed further to any other topic in Quant.. that's it.. work on them, then move forward.. you will not face any problem..

pehle to.. make 30-40 minutes everyday separately for calculation practice mere bachhe.. it's very important..
then focus on these topics in the same sequence -
1. HCF/LCM
2. Surds and Indices
3. Percentages
4. Ratios
5. Averages
6. Profit and Loss
7. Mixtures and Allligations
8. Time and Work
9. Logs
That's it.. no need to do anything else.. if you do them well (Very thoroughly.. 90% accuracy at least, not even 85), you will be able to crack the QA section.

nope nope nope.. Arun Sharma is a very high level book that assumes you are already comfortable with Maths... it has almost no theory and all the formulae are given without any derivation because the book assumes that you will be able to derive them yourself..
So, you shouldn't use Arun Sharma at all.. stick to Sarvesh Verma or Nishit Sinha.. that will be better..

bachhe.. that means your Arithmetic is still very weak.. evaluate the mock and see how many Arithmetic questions you are getting.. if I tell you you need 99 but your potential is 95, will you give up or screw your test in the greed for extra 4 percentile??

@@ashvatthaama so what should i try

CAT gives very heavy weightage to simple questions.. and extremely low weightage to all the heavy mathematical topics like Geometry and Modern Maths.. so, to be honest, it makes no sense to start with that area which gets the lowest weightage in an exam..
Only those who have already reached 99 percentile and are trying to push for 99.5 or 100 need modern maths.. nobody else..

well.. beta.. improving calculation is one of the easiest things to achieve.. all you have to do is make an excel sheet that generates random numbers between 1 and 100 and then simply spend 20 minutes thrice everyday adding, subtracting and multiplying these number orally.. that's it..
Only thing is - this process requires a lot of patience which is why 90% of the students don't follow it since they get bored.. but if you can be among those 10% who do this simple exercise for 30 days.. you will see that your calculation will have improved drastically..

yes beta... you can... though, in general, Geometry is considered to be the toughest part of Maths (after PnC) because of the sheer volume of theorems and formulae in it.. and you can not master just one part of Geometry and do good in the exam.. you have to master 80% of it at least because each question will be a mixture of multiple different concepts.. which is why I (most of the times) do not recommend non-engineering students to get into it because they usually give up after trying to 3-4 months...

Sir I am 27M no experience due to government job preparation. Should I prepare for CAT?
you can beta... nothing wrong in that and college bhi mil jaayeg agar score kaafi achha aaya to.. but kitna prepare karega exams ke liye?? Job kyo avoid kar raha hai.. 1-2 saal job kar le.. exams to uske baad bhi diye ja sakte hain...
Sir my academics is 10th- 65%, 12th- 84% and graduation- around 7-8 CGPA till now, how can i get good best ranks college at what ahead for me now?
well, there is only thing to do beta.. get a good CAT score.. that's it.. there are certain colleges which won't give you call no matter what (IIM A, B and Indore for example) but then there are many more which will.. given that score very very well in CAT... so, focus on that.. and things will be fine..
I have a 4 year gap after grad because of govt job prep. currently I'm freelancing - which I have registered as a business as a sole proprietorship. I have 2 questions:
1. Will this count as workex?
2. I'm obv not aiming for ABC but with good score can I get a new IIM or XLRI (I have read many people with gap years getting into XLRI)?
Is it better to get some workex since I don't have anything on my profile or should I focus on cat.
I'm General cat. female with commerce background
my acads are:
10th- 7.3
12th- 88%
UG: 7
Thank you in advance! :)
I think we had a word on Telegram bachhe, right?
