While I am a car effecanado from the muscle car era, Indy race car, to European cars from select countries. The Bentley just has style, looks like your well to do even 20 years later a timeless car. I can only imagine the stares, comments the driver gets. When I bought a Cadillac I got treated differently than driving my company Silverado . I used the caddy for sales calls, my first stop I was tipped before I landed the project since the caddy use gas he said. When younger had Nova SS it was not for the shot or loner got plenty of attention. Haven't owned a Bentley yet like the Continental T, brooklands leven the arange looks prestigious . Nice video good job sir.
The Arnage T and the Continental GT are absolut different cars because they have a completely contrary philosophy. I agree absolutely with what you say. So I am lucky to have both in my collection and can enjoy driving both. Thank you for your reviews, they help me with some decisions about buying cars like the Jaguar XKR 4,2.
I have heard that the Arnage Red Label 6.75 cars are prone to head gasket failure? These cars are happiest when used regularly, as low mileage garage queens are often trouble prone. The Volkswagen developed Bentley Continentals are more like a high-end Audi and seem to attract footballer types. The Arnage is properly British and whispers discrete class and old money.
The Red Label is indeed prone to head gasket failure, usually between 60 & 80 thousand miles. Worse still the 'T' is very prone to camshaft failure..writing the car off due to the cost to fix it. The 6.75 also has a common issue of gearbox failures, occasionally with as little as 50,000 miles on the clock. The Arnage to go for is the 4.4 They are pretty bullet proof. I have owned both CC models. I speak from painful experience.
I would have the Arnage, but even more so the Brooklands coupe over any Conti GT based car. This is traditional handmade luxury, not so much association with footballers etc.
I always like your considered reviews dealing with how the car makes you feel rather than figures. I still hanker after an olde Bentley and the Arrange would be perfect, but my Mercedes CL500 is also a very competent wafter and it steals my head & heart every time I drive it.
I agree - a long term Mercedes owner here but with the second car for high days and holidays a Benters Arnage - the difference is exactly as you describe - its the feeling you get - I have posted a comment on this page where I describe that as "feeling as though you have arrived before you have even left'. There is an air of grace and ever so slight 'one-upmanship over the 'other' peasants!' -"how dare they look, I hope they are looking?" A bit of Brit cool with a whiff of the upper classes. "I'm just off to the Gentlemen's Club in Mayfair Dahling....might stay over" and all of that - a little measure of the Aristocat rather than the Autocrat Rolls - Although the reason I bought one is that I just want luxury and comfort - which is why I simply refuse to even get in my Girlfriends Lotus Elise.
The W215 is an exceptional car! I've previously owned a CL500 215 and a 140 CL420 and when comparing them to my father in laws 1997 Rolls Royce silver spur - the Mercedes are equally as comfortable, with the added bonus of being able to stop ten times better than the Rolls!
You certainly have some 'Rok-Stah' vibes going on there - I drove the new Bentley Conti - both 2dr and 4dr - before driving an Arnage - they are so vastly different - both have serious nift in the throttle department but only one stands out as 'true' British luxury and it wasn't the Conti - not even in the same rowing boat. The Arnage wafts along with an air of class the VW designed motor simply cannot match. Yes the Arnage weighs about the same as a medium sized Cruise ship but the Conti feels cheap and plasticky by comparison - I'm sure the Mulsanne is in a different league to both - I think that's it main comparison and I whilst have not driven one when I see one, I covet it deeply, even over my Best Of British Arnage - The thing about this car is that when I am sailing silently through the Cotswolds I feel I have arrived before I have even left!!
I really enjoyed this video - what a nice change to be spoken to like an adult, with no bullsh*t, no stupid music, no stock video clips.
Nice one. 👍
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it

Which would you keep if you could only have the one?….. I
am debating buying one instead of the A8 and BMW7’s I have owned during the last 20 years…

Yeah as with most tech-heavy cars they need to be used regularly, and if not left on trickle charge

I really like these cars, I also like the Mulsanne that came after these. Such a shame that the big Bentley's aren't built anymore
One of my all time favorite manufacturers! Always loved the style of Bentley's cars! 😊👍
12:51; rarer to see a gmc safari on British roads! Slightly ironic with all the talk of American interstate yachts
Very, very tempted, but reports of parts unavailability on what is a low volume car are a concern.
flyingspares has it covered- parts were never a problem

Drove 3 over the years the last the T you can push them along once you get to know her
The last good looking Bentley, a classy night club bouncer in a tuxedo.
If you want to bankrupt yourself buy the 6.75
If you want a Bentley you can get in safe in the knowledge it will 'get you there' then buy a 4.4
the bmw engine will also need a rebuild at some point
I can't get over how you people in the UK drive on the wrong side.
…tumbleweed
@@HSGAutomotive Well, you Brits can't say you drive on the right side.
You're correct, we can't.
And based on the footage I see from every Mustang owners meeting in the States, neither can they.
I can’t get over how small the roads are over there, they were built for horses not for cars 😂
