Watching this one there was still a small part of me that actually thought Hector was going to become the legend he is in the games. And then Lenore beat the shit out of him and I lost all hopes.
The human race is really lucky the captain rolled an 18 in charisma at character creation. A lot of people say this is the weakest season but it has some of the best stuff with Isaac, he talks to a lot of interesting people.
One of my favorite episodes Issac really became one of my favorites with his discussion of philosophy and the nature of human sin and kindness. This is his season without a doubt
35:25 To be fair, by the time the heroes found the bad guys in season one, most of the the antagonists where already dead from chronic backstabbing disorder.
Isaac has my favorite story by far. So much introspection and philosophical discussions! The Captain and the Merchant are amazing! Isaac meeting the most interesting of people. It's like if the DM sculpted all the different journeys of the cast but gave Isaac like 10x more content.
The one thing I don't like about this season is alucards section not that I think it's bad it's a little rushed especially at the end but only because it has such cool implications and nothing happens with it going forward other than that minor complaint this show is amazing

The show is extremely jojo influenced and even directly takes the part 1 AND 2 endings where the protagonist dies fighting their final villain in a 1v1 and after he "dies" his lover states she's pregnant and his legacy will live on, AND they do the joseph part 2 ending of it being a fake out and showing up to people grieving for him totally fine. Which makes sense really, Castlevania the game series was based on Jojo too. A lineage of vampire hunters where each one focuses on a new descendant of the bloodline. That doesn't make it bad. You can accept that it's definitely based on jojo and still love castlevania. I do. Berserk probably has even more influence on it too.

I think one of the more underrated parts of this show is definitely the mystery happening the chapel. There’s obviously something happening in there and it is slowly unraveled
Man, poor Godbrand gets no respect even in death. He was supposed to be a dumb killing machine, and yet the move that rendered him almost helpless (a human firmly going for the throat) was shrugged off by a waif of a vampire who can't possibly be that much older than him. And Hector, poor, foolish boy in man's body that the authors reduced one of the more colorful Castelvania game protagonists to. He once again shows that he has zero foresight or patience. Big Int, dumped Wis.
While hector is getting a taste of what he wanted, he did also ask for conditions to not be complete shit. That said, as is clear for Hector’s character, he’s logical, but he’s so far removed from everything experience wise he doesn’t seem to realize the gravity of the things he wants. And he trusts everyone to do what they say they’ll do. Being an domesticated/captured animal wouldn’t be so bad if not for the fact that the ppl who own them can treat them however they want.
Isaac's discussion with The Captain reminds of Sasuke reuniting with his brother. Had these characters never meet the people who helped change their perspective they would have continued walking down the path of self-destruction.
Every time I see that scene with Hector and Lenore in this episode, I keep wondering how a man who has spent a decent amount of time with vampire honestly thought he had the upper hand given the situation.
The church stuff as the judge told (they could speak for days, and that stuff) is some CoC, delta green type shit when you see like itaqua or azazoth or whatever fail the sanity save and you take like 8 fucking d20s of sanity and you go absolutely crazy
Hold on- during the discussion portion, when did Isaac hold the captain hostage? Pretty sure telling another man that he's going to choose your ship, pay for your services, and not eat your men; is not being held hostage. 🤷🏾♂️
Personally I like to pretend like this entire season never happened. Yes, there is some cool stuff, but it completely ruins Alucard and sets up events that never happen. I'm specifically talking about the last few episodes. It's more like a bad fanfiction written for blue-haired girls.
Nah man, i wouldnt trade this season for anything. S3 has peak Sypha x Trevor banter, everything with Isaac, the Judge and Saint Germain! So much good juicy stuff, especially dialouge wise.
Completely agree. Not necessarily a bad character, but she is very hateable. Not sure if it was intentional, though. It seems like they want her to be empathetic, but I just really hate people who hide cruelty behind a kind face and honeyed words.
Alucard plot brought this season down due to a poor outcome and a force "humans are bad" theme that just felt bleh. As well as a disappointing Trevor and Sypha story arc. While it wasn't bad, it just felt a bit meh compare to the other plots going on. Issac plot was the best and I loved everytime we seen him. Hector wasn't bad at all and was enjoyable. Out of the four, the heroes storyline was just sideline and I think that hurt S3 the most. Still love the show and felt like overall, the show is a 7.5 or easy an 8 out of 10.

They barely gave more than 30 minutes of screen time to the full story of Alucard and the twins, def the weakest part of the season for sure
