    I like the reviews of expensive kits . . . I understand and respect Cory's comment below, but inexpensive kits are easy to go and play to try out . . . they are everywhere . . . when you are thinking about spending serious money, these reviews help.

      Amen.... High-end music stores are virtually gone these days. Probably 80% of gear purchased is done online. So, this is incredibly important. And, it's one of the few channels that does the demo properly. Not some dude just shredding on a poorly mic'd kit.

    Maybe the purest sounding maple kit I've ever heard. Fantastic

    I like this channel. Your delivery is dry and informative while still being fairly warm and inviting to watch.
    PLEASE do a detailed review of the NEW Tama Starclassic Birch/Walnut kits that recently replaced the discontinued SC Birch/Bubinga kit. They're sure to draw a LOT of interest and attention here in the near future.
    Thanks much. Gonna binge some of your vids now 😁

    I noticed they have die cast hoops on the toms,not mentioned,b4 die cast were a standard feature with no up charge but now they are!! I was lucky to get my 2 kits with the die cast hoops which I love!

    lugs are solid steel. not hollow pot metal crap you find on most drums. strainer is full solid brass. noble & cooley are quality instruments and are worthy of their prices.

    What a kit! That snare sounds fantastic. I need top get myself some wood hoops. One question: what ist this african/cuban rhythm you played for the first impression? I need top learn that one. Maybe you can do a comparison of the different hoop types in the future. Thanks for the review!

      Hi Jo .K. Thanks for your comments!! The pattern is a variation on a Mozambique rhythm made famous by the incredible Steve Gadd...here's a great vid of him demonstrating how he plays it: th-cam.com/video/I7W33sLJi78/w-d-xo.html. We'll also give some thought to a hoop comparison video at some point in the near future! Cheers, Nick (product demonstrator).

    DISCLAIMER: I own two Noble & Cooley sets and can say, if your toms are wobbling, is because the angle it was set up at, s not right. Once adjusted properly, this doesn't happen.

      @sam rut Thats why they have the rim system so the drums aren't constrained and it's a natural sound!

      short answer, no. They are a smaller company that focuses on higher end instruments. They are actually a very interesting company with a long history, and a lot of innovations in the drum world.

    • @kennygraeber59
      @kennygraeber59 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly, N&C got their "start" and made their initial money making the drum-sets you could buy in the old JC Penneys or Sears catalogs!!!

      Kenny Graeber
      They used to, and I think they still do make toy drums too. I remember seeing a video where they showed the machinery for the toy drums. At one point someone brought them an old steam bent shell that needed repair, and that set them on the path of high end instruments. They had the equipment, but I don’t believe they were using at that point. Either way, they have been around for a very long time, and make some beautiful drums now.

    I am very under whelmed with the finish of this kit, boring. Also the mid mounting system for the rack toms is very unappealing to the eye. If you’re shelling out this kind of coin for drums, they should be perfect in every way. They fall short as identified in this review by Nally.
