The only shirtless people around my area are unfashionable pot-bellied men who sweat too much in the Summer. No one tries to go shirtless unless they're at a beach.

Yeah. Before my grandpa passed (not from covid) he had his heart working at 40% and was on oxygen 24/7 and he still managed to wear a mask. People are just ridiculous, especially when they do this. If you don’t want to wear a mask, then just order your groceries

I don’t get why people are trying to defend the old woman by saying “well she’s old, you have to respect your elders, you don’t know what she’s going through”, the store has a policy that you have to wear a mask what makes any of you think that someone is above the rules because they are older and “deserve respect”. The only people that deserve respect are the ones who earn it and a 70 year old lady whining on the floor about having to wear a mask is not one of those people.

Growing up in the Detroit area, I spent a lot of time across the river in Windsor, ON, Canada. I can't tell you how many times I'd see somebody act up somewhere, be it in a park or in a bar, and when the authorities arrived, the offender would pull out the "You can't do this to me, I'm an American!" card. I always chuckled like Bugs Bunny as they were taken away and told, oh, they have plenty of space in the jails all over Ontario. I'd love to meet someone in the legal system who got to handle a case like that, just to know how hard the judge laughed.

When it comes to obstinate elderly, I find it effective to slowly, gently inform them that I am happy to call an ambulance, and if they can remember their next of kin's name. *Nothing* neutralizes these sorts of tantrums like treating them as if they are a public case of dementia.

Well, the company pays folks well for the job they do, and treats them like human beings. My local store has several folks with 10+ years of service, so they must be doing something right.

I'm a nurse and there's no legit medical reason I've heard of contraindicating wearing a mask.
@@ohhhokay4 I've been in Asbestos areas, low oxygen percent environments, doing hard work with double Tyvek suits, a full respirator, taped gloves for 9 hours a day in 100 degree weather. People can breathe, they just breathe harder and in the US, their comfort is more important than your life. Seriously.

I agree and I do wear mine without complaint. However, my daughter and I both do have legit medical conditions and the masks make me feel like I’m suffocating some days. They do my daughter the same way just on some occasions.
Also, I have a to run my nose and scratch my face constantly while wearing one. I feel like my hands are near my face much more often when wearing a mask than without.
Nonetheless, I wear one without complaint when on other people property and in public.
