I am 24 years old and I only started watching Star Wars last month. I realised I should slap myself in the face for missing out on one of the best movies in the world!!!
Alas, no longer. :( Though I'll be honest, I feel that it did make it a bit more dramatic in The Force Awakens. *Silence* LUCASFILM *Silence* A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... *Silence* BWAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM Lol.
Same here. Those were our early years, when we young and impressionable and were given this spectacular gift, one that we would cherish for the rest of our lives.
Still remember the day my Dad and I and my brother saw this film in 1977 at the Elane cinema in Scarborough. An absolute mind-blow. It was such an out-of-this-world experience. Kids these days have such a digital life that the magic of the experience of seeing something like this for the first time is very difficult for them to achieve.
The AUDIO is MOST EXCELLENT!!!! If you scroll down where you don't see the video, you'd think you were listening to the cd soundtrack! This is very EXCELLENT!
Awesome! Possibly the first really popular movie series that introduced a whole younger generation to symphonic music. Today we should take a lesson from that! John Williams is a master!
Back when Star Wars was released, I remember hearing this being played on one of the local rock stations in Vancouver. To this day, I don't think another orchestral theme has had the ability to burst into popular culture with the same impact.
We need music like this back in the cinemas, back in our like, for our children's lives. The return of Star Wars should usher in the next John Williams. Let's hope. God I love this...
Just listen to the crowd and the energy. Absolutely fkn AWESOME! Reminds me of seeing the original Star Wars movies in the theaters as a kid, and when the Opening Fanfare come on, EVERYONE in the theater yelled, screamed, clapped, and cheered! I'll never forget that. Absolutely fkn AMAZING!! :-)
I attended a performance in Ontario,C.A. this past Sunday afternoon at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. They had two shows. As I mentioned, I saw the afternoon one(3PM). This was first time attending such a show and I was completely flabbergasted and amazed! Anthony Daniels(C3PO) was the narrator. I have never seen any of the stars in person and I was most impressed. I hope to attend many more of them down the road. This is an awesome video!
wow. what the human mind is capable to imagine... so much dreams, so many worlds, so much nightmares and hate , so much love. ... all caught in music. brilliant.
Going tonight w/ my six year old son....words cannot describe how f'n excited I am not only to go see the show, but to see my sons face when the lights go down and the music hits!
I saw the concert at the Izod Center in NJ last week, it was AMAZING. Tonight I was given an even BIGGER surprise...this ENTIRE CONCERT including the dialogue is available as the bonus disk that came with the soundtrack to Revenge of the Sith from 2005. I mean I would have paid to see the concert live anyways, but now I can enjoy the show anytime I want.
I read somewhere, that the Twentieth Century Fox fanfare music is the most recognizable music on earth, everyone, regardless of where they are, know that it's a MOVIE starting. Thanks for the posting.
There are no more masterpieces like this... the phrase "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" takes me back to my childhood, it's incredible... thanks Mr Lucas, I grown up with your stories and will never forget the noise of your Lightsabers... and may the Force be with you FOREVER!
Took my son to see this in Manchester UK. There arn't words to describe how fantastic it was to hear it all live. Lightsabers as far as the eye could see!!! :)
Seein this was so much fun. Being a Star Wars fan and mucisian i absolutely loved this. During acouple pieces like the opening fanfare, the duel of fates, a hero falls, and princess leia's theme i got chills. Amazing experience
I need to go to sleep but I've been watching this more than 50 times and I can not stop.... If something like this comes to Miami I'm sure I'll be there... It has had to be an amazing experience!
Was there in '77,the ONLY time I've ever seen a standing ovation for a movie!(in which none of the makers or stars were there!)...This isn't even what I'd call a great recording, and it's still outstanding! Thank you uploader for sharing this! Remarkable!
I was there when they stopped in Hamburg, Germany. On this night in April 2010 I WAS in a galaxy far far away... And it took a couple of days to bring me back! :))
I went to this concert in Portland, OR at the Rose Garden (or whatever they're calling it now) and this was by far the best concert I've ever been to. Before the show they had on exhibit the original costumes and a whole ton of Ralph's original concept art.
I come back to this amazing masterpiece once a while and everytime Im about to cry because of all the joy, happiness and wonderfull times I experienced along with Star Wars , Star Wars Movies were the first I have ever seen, Star Wars is my childhood and when ever I watch this video, the pure awesomeness of Star Wars gets me... :,D May the force be with everyone
I cannot believe it! Stumbled upon this link just yet and the concert was in Hamburg, Germany, 100 kilometers away, just 3 days ago and I didn't know! Waaaaaah! :-(
I just realized that that musical lead up to the actual Star Wars theme is NOT going to be there for Episode 7 through 9 because that is actually the Twentieth Century Fox' Fan Fare!! End Of An Era!!
angelzr Unless Disney made a sweetheart deal they couldn't refuse, licensing the Fox fanfare for Star Wars films only (Flashing the Fox logo etc). (Fox using it on their productions still of course!) for generous royalties! I'd be more surprised that it didn't happen to be honest! I guess we shall see.
May be "we" will see some special animation to start of the segue way into the opening verse, "A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far, Away..." Perhaps some X-Wings flying over the Disney castle sparking the fireworks or maybe some T.I.E. Fighters instead?! Who knows?
Thumbs up if you still get chills over this!!!!
I wish to go back in time and feel for myself how it was to be on the premiere in 1977
+Pascal ter Steeg I still remember that, couldn't wait to see it a second time either. It was much better than all the remakes Lucas did to it.
+Pascal ter Steeg Same! XD
+Pascal ter Steeg Yeah..me too,to go back to a time when you paid what $2 a ticket instead of $15 or $25 if you have access to an iPic Theater??
+Pascal ter Steeg Well, you may feel the same this December.
I'd love to back in time too...to shout the fact that a sequel is coming and Vader is Luke is not just his daddy but Leia is his sister.Haha!!
I am 24 years old and I only started watching Star Wars last month. I realised I should slap myself in the face for missing out on one of the best movies in the world!!!
This the ONLY movie theme that still gives me chills. STAR WARS FOREVER!!
...complete with 20th Century Fox Fanfare lead in, which is crucial! Amazing!
+Jim T Including the THX sound at the beginning
Alas, no longer. :( Though I'll be honest, I feel that it did make it a bit more dramatic in The Force Awakens. *Silence*
LUCASFILM
*Silence*
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

BWAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM
Lol.
was crucial...
I'm literally sitting here crying.
Me too! :D
Me too!!!
lol can't believe they also included the 21st century fox theme.
redDL89 It makes the whole experience for the child in you.
Can't believe a man can create a music like this.
Is it weird I tear up and get chills when listening to this?
Not at all I got the same feeling
Doug fuck no

I cried when I watched this... just beautiful!
Star Wars in Concert is a wonderful show that every Star Wars fan should experience. We saw it at The Hollywood Bowl and it was amazing.
No matter how many times I've seen Star Wars, I still get goose bumps from the theme song.
Over fifty now, but I will be there for Episode VII without a doubt, accompanied by my two sons. Can't wait. John Williams you are a genius.
I seriously cried listening to this and I have no idea why lol
Very good
The AUDIO is MOST EXCELLENT!!!! If you scroll down where you don't see the video, you'd think you were listening to the cd soundtrack! This is very EXCELLENT!

Great, now I have to go and watch all seven films back-to-back. Guess I"m not going to work tomorrow!
Flawless.
Pascal it was the best feeling you could ever have for a 5 year old child now 43. Blessed.
Thank you Mr. John Williams for writing one of the most iconic masterpieces of the history of cinema ...
Forget all the canned, electronic stuff -- you NEED a full orchestra for an awesome movie score -- IMHO
I know the new film is by Disney but in my head it will be forever the 20th Century Fox fanfare in my head!
You know what you can do with Disney? (I'm too polite to say it here.) Talk about an evil empire...
We need music like this back in the cinemas, back in our like, for our children's lives. The return of Star Wars should usher in the next John Williams. Let's hope. God I love this...
Gonna miss the opening fanfare, now we will get a castle and a star.
Gonna miss the 20TH Century Fox fanfare.
It has been almost 6 years since I went here. I don't regret it. I was in Manchester and it was worth every single second.
Woah...absolutely amazing!!!!! Those horn players are GREAT!!!!!
This is the greatest movie theme of all time.

absolutely fantastic.
Memories... Overwhelming memories... Star Wars trailer coming in a few days... This is all too much!
John Williams - the greatest composer EVER! Think yourself lucky that you have lived in his time!
John Williams will go down in history as our generation's freakin' Motzart!
Going tonight w/ my six year old son....words cannot describe how f'n excited I am not only to go see the show, but to see my sons face when the lights go down and the music hits!
Now that Disney owns Star Wars, we're gonna lose that impressive 20th Century Fox fanfare. A shame, a shame.
MAN THEY SOUND GREAT. I SAW STAR WARS WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD IN 1977. ONE OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE. THE FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE.
I just can't stop watching this. It is absolutely amazing, epic, a delight to your ears and food to your soul.....
I read somewhere, that the Twentieth Century Fox fanfare music is the most recognizable music on earth, everyone, regardless of where they are, know that it's a MOVIE starting. Thanks for the posting.
A tear every time i hear it.....childhood memories...still a star wars geek to the end....
"I feel like I can take on the Empire all by myself!" - Dak. (RIP, buddy)
I was there that night. It was great!
There are no more masterpieces like this... the phrase "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" takes me back to my childhood, it's incredible... thanks Mr Lucas, I grown up with your stories and will never forget the noise of your Lightsabers... and may the Force be with you FOREVER!

I see THX is as good as ever of blowing out your eardrums. Kudos to you, sound techs.
Magnificently . . . Outrageously Impressive !!!!
I saw this when it came to the verizon center in D.C. and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! john williams is a genius!
Absolutely amazing. I'm still a kid. I feel it when I listen to this kind of music.
Seein this was so much fun. Being a Star Wars fan and mucisian i absolutely loved this. During acouple pieces like the opening fanfare, the duel of fates, a hero falls, and princess leia's theme i got chills. Amazing experience
FOUR HOURS on line to see that movie... who knew where it would lead..? ! ... and now our kids are taking it further. Quite the fantastic journey!
I need to go to sleep but I've been watching this more than 50 times and I can not stop.... If something like this comes to Miami I'm sure I'll be there... It has had to be an amazing experience!
and I was at Nassau Coliseum for THAT performance, as well... major memories ...
This is mind-blowingly brilliant
I'm 35 years old & this is the soundtrack to my childhood............. possibly my life :-)
Was there in '77,the ONLY time I've ever seen a standing ovation for a movie!(in which none of the makers or stars were there!)...This isn't even what I'd call a great recording, and it's still outstanding! Thank you uploader for sharing this! Remarkable!
I saw Star Wars in the theater when I was 6 years old and have been fascinated by it ever since.
One of the best concert I've ever been to.
WONDER...WONDER....WONDER.... WONDERFUL
Thank you ElectObama08 for your video
Wow!! The THX and Fox Fanfare at the beginning make it simply amazing. (not to mention the music itself) Thanks for the upload.
I saw it in Hamburg and I will never forget this, hope they come again....
I was there when they stopped in Hamburg, Germany. On this night in April 2010 I WAS in a galaxy far far away... And it took a couple of days to bring me back!
:))

see that background? that's the inside of my brain every time I hear this theme
39 years later, this still gives me goosebumps and manly tears...John Williams is a god.

I went to this concert in Portland, OR at the Rose Garden (or whatever they're calling it now) and this was by far the best concert I've ever been to. Before the show they had on exhibit the original costumes and a whole ton of Ralph's original concept art.

The most epic musical theme I have heard ever in my life. So I pleased my relatives to play it all time the day I die.
Questa musica anche a distanza da quando ho guardato i film mi commuove sempre !!!!! sono cresciuta con questi film MITICI!!!!!
I have no words to describe what I felt when I watched this
God Bless John Williams and his magnificent compositions.
2:51 is the absolute best of this "song".... always waiting for it...
Once Episode 7 comes out, it'll be time to make another trip to the store to pick up the soundtrack.
Tenia 7 años cuando comenzaron estas pelis, así que Star Wars es un icono para mi... Gracias por subir este video...
that was totally awsome there is no words to describe that performance
I GOT GOOSEBUMPS THE SIZE OF MOUNTAINS WATCHING THIS!!!
This orchestra is strong in the force! Fantastic.
John Williams,everybody...personally responsible for making the French horn cool !
I was about to cry of excitement when I went to this concert in Lisbon! 10000000000 likes from me!
I cannot believe it! Stumbled upon this link just yet and the concert was in Hamburg, Germany, 100 kilometers away, just 3 days ago and I didn't know! Waaaaaah! :-(
A franchise started by a movie almost thirty-five years old, and the audience still goes nuts over the opening titles.
Can't beat that.
I've been watching star wars since I was a kid of 5 in 1982 and this gave me goosebumps like crazy!
I just realized that that musical lead up to the actual Star Wars theme is NOT going to be there for Episode 7 through 9 because that is actually the Twentieth Century Fox' Fan Fare!! End Of An Era!!
Unless Disney bought the rights to that too, I wouldn't be surprised! (And F*** me! I'd love them for it, haters be damned!)
20th Century Fox will never sell that musical interlude. Very much less to rival movie studio Disney.
angelzr Unless Disney made a sweetheart deal they couldn't refuse, licensing the Fox fanfare for Star Wars films only (Flashing the Fox logo etc). (Fox using it on their productions still of course!) for generous royalties! I'd be more surprised that it didn't happen to be honest! I guess we shall see.
So just the music during the 20th century fox logo? I can live with that haha
May be "we" will see some special animation to start of the segue way into the opening verse, "A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far, Away..." Perhaps some X-Wings flying over the Disney castle sparking the fireworks or maybe some T.I.E. Fighters instead?! Who knows?
It is AWESOME! One of the best performance from Star Wars I ever heard.
EPIC WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really hope there will be another Star Wars in Concert in the next few years, this time with new music from Ep 7 and Rogue One!
The movies themselves may have lost some of their magic over the decades (Thanks, George!). The music on the other hand ... pure magic!
+Sardo Maitland They both compliment each other. I still love the original movies, and feel them every time I watch.
Aye! I agree on that!
ssshhhh you'll give Disney ideas... :P
The original (non blue ray/dvd) special editions in the movie theater were awesome... They need to put those onto Blue ray.
