How does zircon stone change color | Changing the color of zircon stone with heat treatment

How can one be sure that the crystal doesn't crack, then explode with heat treatment? Also, if the flame is blue instead of yellow-orange, will that result in different color? Finally, what is the actual treatment time? Thanks. 🙏

Should be heat in a closed sealed chamber to minimize oxidation, it will crack if heat it in open air.

In a special furnace, the sapphire is heated for some time after which its color changes and it has to be heated to 1800 degrees Celsius.
