....And now 22 months later my ASUS ProArt Creator-based system is still going great; I built it with a RTX4000 Workstation Graphics Card and 128 GB(!!) @@theTechNotice Hi I´m looking into doing this build but with the ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF GAMING OC, do you think this case can handle it? what PSU would you recommend that fits this exact build and case?

Update on having used this setup for a week now: 1) do not use the CreationFirst software that comes with the ProArt board. It's meant to prioritize network traffic based on what you're currently doing but it only ended up strangling network resources and made some apps completely crash. 2) I've run into several issues with USB connectivity. First my Logi C922 webcam kept disconnecting and having issues. I moved it around to different ports before finding success. Second, my MOTU MK4 audio interface that connects via USB 2.0 will periodically disconnect from Windows. I'm bringing in an Inateck PCI-E USB card that MOTU recommends to see if this solves the problem.
Update on the USB issues I've had. I was never able to rectify the problem with my MOTU MK4 audio interface (USB 2.0) which would randomly disconnect requiring me to restart the device to get audio back. Extremely frustrating while editing or in the middle of Zoom calls or streaming. MOTU recommended adding an Inateck USB 3.0 PCI board assuming it was a speed issue and thinking the dedicate board would prevent dropout. It took me a frustratingly long time to get the PCI board in, but it finally arrived... and solved absolutely nothing. My last resort was to upgrade my audio interface to get off USB 2.0 so I picked up a Presonus Studio 24c (USB-C). I'm still having the same issues where occasionally the audio will disconnect, but it reconnects within a half second and just becomes the occasionally annoying hiccup but is at least tolerable. If anyone's had similar issues with this motherboard and has found a solution, please let me know.
You make such good builds. And thank you for thinking about creators and not gamers as much (although your builds would make great game machines too). I just put a 3900x into a Torrent Fractal, and love the airflow so much I went to my BeQuite case and turned all the fans inwards and now have nine inward fans and better cooling.
My man, totally going to move my similar build currently on the Lian Li 011 Air to this new case because it can fit a full tower cooler! I also like it tall and narrow rather than wide & stocky.
It took me a couple of weeks to build my workstation. I painted it light aqua blue with Dover white and candy blue stripes. Sanding the black paint on the brand-new case was some work that is what took so long. I don't care for RGB but the used power supply Corsair 750 I got was really cheap with cables and it glows colors. I did swap out the power and HD LEDs to blue to match the color. An air-cooled Dual-stack heatsink is the way to go, less trouble.

Congratulations on the baby! Our daughter is due this coming Sunday, so right there with you! This was a solid build-guide, with beautiful b-roll, and awesome part-selection. I'm definitely interested in seeing those upcoming workflow benchmarking videos, and will be using this as a reference point for my video editing workstation upgrade early next year.
Saving this video for when I build my wife a video editing PC. Just have to save up first!! Over 3K and I have only specc'd a 3080Ti! This is way too much for the entry level editing she is starting to do, but my thoughts are that once she gets used to it, and starts doing proper editing with some of the paid software, this will be ready for her 🙂As long as it doesn't take too long to save up of course.
First time builder here. Almost chose all the same parts, but a little cheaper option. CPU and MOBO the same. Sure would have been nice to see a setup video for this one, especially what to configure in the Bios for optimum performance as a creator.. But great build none the less. Thx for the guide.
I’m getting Great Gatsby vibes from it! Roaring 20’s! Haha awesome build man!! I would love to see you set up the DOCP getting the RAM running at the rates speeds
Hi.. Could u suggest me mother board it will support basic specs to high end specs.. So that i can update whenever I have money at that time.. And what are the main specs we need to maintain for server workstations
I've had this motherboard for a month. I just ordered the rest of everything but the graphics card last night. Can't wait to get into some fun 4k video editing and after effects again. Congrats on your new baby!
Any chance you could link the exact cables and colours you chose? Complete novice and don't even know what ones I should be selecting. Thanks in advance. Great build and video
Wow, congrats! Hey if your board has 8pin plus 4pin.CPU plugs...people say you don"t need the 4pin. My modular power supply had two 8pin cables, I split the one end of the extra 8pin to power up the extra 4pin plug.
My DAW, Fractal R2, Be Quiet Straight Power 11-650W, ASUS ProArt x570, Ryzen 5950X, Ice Giant ProSiphon, 64 GB Ripjaw V 3600MHz, CL 14-14-14-34, 1 & 2 TB Samsung 980 pro, Radeon Pro WX 3100, think it’ll run ok when my replacement RAM finally gets here, first set had a defective stick, of course had to send complete kit back and of course they didn’t have it in stock anymore, hopefully in about 8 hours I’ll be booting the beast up and start my installation marathon….
I'm looking at this build like the Salient Arms of equivalency, and the one thing that doesn't enter my mind is 'money saving'. It's pretty, but just like an SA gun, the base model will do the same job for 1/5 the money. =) Add: For whatever it's worth, I've built my last two rigs with watercooling and doing hardcore rendering with simulations for engineering projects where they can run for days on end at max power, and the least reliable thing has been my keyboards. I go about 5 years between major rebuilds, upgrades along the way, but both watercoolers that weren't anything fancy are still alive, one of which is going on 12 years old and still in use.
Got that Firecuda 530. I know it will out live any other components I own. Great investment to do all the heavy lifting. Love the content how you break down the components and why for the use case. keep it up!
Saving this video because I'm going to be buying this motherboard next week or the one after. I'll be using mine strictly for a DAW,.. so my build is not going to be nearly as extreme as yours. Went with a different fractal case too
Oh I’m so late to this party! Been watching new intel alder lake stuff. Loving this Pro Art pc. Gold and black reminds me of 1989 Batman 👍🏽 Congrats, baby girl 👍🏽👏🏾👏🏾
Man, if i could only have sumthing like it for my channel. I can't even record screens on my old HP 620, great build. It looks like it has good airflow.
TH-cam recommended me this video because I had previously searched for reviews of the mainboard featured, but the tastes of this video's host being quite different from mine makes me want to compare them. 1. The same board, of course, BUT… 2. (2:32) …I would've went with the Ryzen 5 5600X for a balance between performance and power consumption, or a 7 5800X. 3. (3:23) I would also use Samsung SSDs instead, because I like their Magician app, but do let me know if there's some other third-party app that can actively monitor SMART status and isn't limited to Samsung SSDs, that I haven't heard of. However, I'd leave the second M.2 slot free in order to maximise the bandwidth of the first PCI-E slot. The third M.2 slot would probably house a random SSD I bought off some random user on the classifieds (when they upgraded their PC), as a scratch disc for video and audio editing, as well as when I can't pull specific GIT branches and have to clone the entire repository instead. 4. (5:51) i won't go with fancy RGB gaming RAM, instead going for something like regular Kingston or Crucial RAM, and I'd make sure to fill up all 4 slots! I'd still get gaming RAM if I can get a good deal on used RAM, like how I have Crucial Ballistix Tactical RAM in my current main PC because the seller accepted my offer for $90 for a 2×8 GB kit, and it's 3000MHz RAM underclocked to 2400MHz because I'm stuck with an Intel Core i7-7700 from someone who had since upgraded and I can't afford the latest hardware. Yeah, that means I'm stuck on Windows 10, but Windows 11 lacks some features that I use on a daily basis (I have already filed the requisite bug reports and feature requests with Microsoft's Windows Insider Programme). My next upgrade would probably be in 2023 or 2024 if I wanted to get 2021 hardware, since I bought used 2017 hardware in 2021. 5. (5:39) With the cooler, I would buy the standard Noctua version of the same cooler instead of the Chromax version he used, as I like Noctua's signature colour scheme (it reminds me of old exhaust fans), but I'd probably just transfer the old Noctua model NH-U12S cooler from my current build since I have the AMD socket AM4 upgrade kit for it. Using that cooler on a 65W TDP non-K Intel Core i7-7700 gives me more thermal headroom compared to the Intel stock cooler. 6. (8:56) The theme with my current main PC is what I call the 'future sleeper', so in that spirit, I would instead use my modified Corsair Obsidian 750D case from my current main PC. 7. (9:09) I won't buy RGB cooling fans as I'm not into fancy RGB effects. Instead, I'd retain the existing cooling setup in the case, which uses Noctua fans, model NF-A12x25 in the front, model NF-A14 in the back, and 2 fans on the cooler instead of one, all of which have PWM support. I have 3 Corsair AF120 fans with dead RGB on the top for show (12V fans running at 5V), and 2 Tecware stock case fans at the bottom to create an air gap since my bedroom frequently gets dusty. Those 5 fans don't support PWM. I would also test the system outside the case before I put it in. 8. (11:08) I would hope for the best that the CableMod custom kit I'd already have would fit the new setup. In reality, getting a CableMod custom kit is on my list of planned upgrades, but for now I'm just using stock Seasonic PSU cables. 9. (12:46) I would likely instead use the existing Samsung SSD 870 QVO from my current build, along with the 4 hard drives (2 are for backup), and the Blu-ray disc drive. Yes, I still use discs and diskettes. I frequently work with older PCs. (13:21) That was unexpected (in the video, that is). Sarcastically speaking, I appreciate you showing the first power on and fresh OS install of a different build of yours that you and your wife likely have been working on for the past 9 months. Based on my experience, the language pack(s) and apps should install over the next 20 years or so. I hope she doesn't get bullied. 10. (13:55) For the PSU, I'd likely reuse the Seasonic Focus GX-850 from my current main PC, along with that CableMod custom kit I mentioned. 11. (16:01) I would use the ASUS Noctua NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU card instead, or some AMD Radeon RX card. On a side note, I once dreamt of ASUS releasing ProArt branded NVIDIA RTX (workstation graphics) GPU cards, like the RTX A4000. I would also install a 4 port HDMI capture card in the bottom PCI-E slot (the one connected to the chipset). I also thought the Blackmagic Design test apps were exclusive to macOS, since I've only seen people demonstrate it on that, and this is the first time I've seen those running on Windows!
I went: 5950x + 128gb ram + 3 x 2 tb Samsung 980 pro's + AsRock X570 Taichi Razer + All LianLi AL120 fans + Phanteks T30 240 + Asus Strix 3080, all in a Phanteks case. Simple/clean/boring looking but it gets the job done. Temps are SOLID across the board regardless of time gaming or doing any editing tasks.
Excellent content and congrats on the growing family!! One of the best videos you have made so far!!! Can the pc building noobs get a cable management video (I may or may not be a pc building noob)
my dream computer has a minimum of 2 x 3090 (nvlink) but so far it's just a dream. Water cooling is the basis for many years, I have custom and I can not imagine going back to air. Sometimes I wonder why this pump noise is so loud, but when I use air cooling for the duration of water cleaning, I change my mind :)
I just did a build with the b550 ProArt board with a 5900x and it's pretty impressive. I'm a gamer but I also do music and needed Thunderbolt for my audio interface. Before this I was using a Gigabyte X99 board with a Thunderbolt 2 add in card, so it's quite the upgrade for me. One thing I've noticed is that If you fill the bottom PCIe slot, the Thunderbolt ports are disabled. There's some vague info about this in the manual, but it's mostly just a chart of how display out of the Thunderbolt port works when the slot is populated. It doesn't mention anything about disabling Thunderbolt. Is this a limitation of b550? Is it possible to fill all the PCIe slots on the x570 board and still use Thunderbolt?
Great video, Would you share the specs of your custom cables? Cablemods "configurator" tool is staright forward and easy to use. I was insterested in the exact specs of custom cables for this build. Congrats to your family on your new baby girl.
I think you can match my design by just looking at the cables, only thing I did was to add 4 combs instead of whatever was the default of each cable ;)
Nice build. I think the last creator’s build used Be Quiet case and stuff. I’m interested in knowing if this build is quieter. You can bet I’ll be watching the episode on saving some money, but I do want a very quiet unit. I could not hear this build when you were recording with it right by your shoulder, and that was something I really liked. Thanks for another great build.
I've got a BeQuiet Dark Base Pro900 rev 2 and the new Fractal Torrent. Took the 3900x form the BeQuiet and stuck it in the fractal where it runs cooler. The BeQuiet has the new 5950x now. The BeQuiet is a quiet case designed to push sounds to the back through the baffles in the sides. It really works well The Torrent is louder. But I have them both maxed at 100% fan speed and have a hepa filter blowing filtered air on them so I never really have much in the filters. But the big filter is so noisy, the sounds form the cases is nothing comparatively, LOL. Both are excellent, but I am sop stoked about the Torrent that I turned all my beQuiet fans inwards.
Nice computer case. I'm slowly picking my parts and time to buy through this and next year. At the moment are looking for a computer case. This one is definitely at the moment in my second place of great looking computer cases!
Coming back to this, about 5 months later, I'm starting to find out its weaknesses. - It's not Sli Compatible - It has very few Pci-e lanes It's likely for mid-level Creators That don't do 3D at a high-end scale or full Production. Cuz it's having a hard time maintaining a lot of the heavy production multitasking processes I'm used to doing, like PR and AE w/ AI open while I'm Sharing on Zoom. Or running multiple heavy workload items at once. It's struggling very much. Recommend moving to a Threadripper at this point, if they release a Zen 3 or higher. The PRO Zens are a lil Studio only recommendation.
Love the case - but need at least 2 - 5.25 slots for my Blu-ray and Hot -Swap dock for 3.25 and 2.5 hard drives . It is just so much faster using the sata 3 connection . I still use a Usb3 enclosure for Nvme dock . It is useful for rebuilding arrays and great for backup as well .
that is truly a dream build. very nice and classy ..wondering if you can fit a 1000w psu or greater in that case.. because next years parts might need it..
Cingratulations to you and your hole family. I am dad as well and that feeling to new born baby to father is The greatest thing what life has given to me. God bless to your hole family. Good content mate. 😊❤️👍
I got so excited about this build, I'm actually going to copy it for myself if you don't mind. I only have one question: How long are the cablemod extensions? Thanks mate! Much appreciate it. And congrats to you and your wife, I bet you're a great happy family.
Absolutely georgous! I want to create the same kind of minimalist rbg vide with the new Fractal Design north Black tg case (ordered but still out of stock at the moment...). Which color code did you use to set your fans/ram ?
Masterpiece! This fractal case is such a trip.. it's the best airflow case with nothing but intake fans... one would think the positive pressure would make the airflow stagnate but for some reason it just works.
So far I have bought these things: Case: Fractal torrent RGB Fan: Fractal prism 140 fans X1 SSD: firecuda 530 1to HDD: 2to barracuda PSU: corsair rm1000x Air cooler: deepcool as500 plus Ram: 4x16 corsair Vengeance 5200mhz no RGB! CPU guard: thermalright am5 Motherboard: not yet Graphics card: not yet Processor: not yet
I used this same cooler...no thermal paste provided! Luckily I had some on hand. But yes...great cooler. P.S. you can use too much paste. More is not better! Green-Pea sized drop is all you need.

Sure would have been nice to see a setup video for this one, especially what to configure in the Bios for optimum performance as a creator.. But great build none the less. Thx for the guide.
Congratulations and many blessings on your baby girl!
I’m getting Great Gatsby vibes from it! Roaring 20’s! Haha awesome build man!! I would love to see you set up the DOCP getting the RAM running at the rates speeds
Great Gatsby, I like that! 👍 ⚫🟡
At this point, I'm reminded of my design tastes and my own main PC build. Wow.
👌😇
Any chance you could link the exact cables and colours you chose? Complete novice and don't even know what ones I should be selecting. Thanks in advance. Great build and video
Congratulations! My son was born 4 months ago.
Wow, congrats! Hey if your board has 8pin plus 4pin.CPU plugs...people say you don"t need the 4pin. My modular power supply had two 8pin cables, I split the one end of the extra 8pin to power up the extra 4pin plug.
This is the most beautiful PC I have ever seen 😮
Looks good. Tasteful, unlike most RGB builds you see on youtube.
This is my dream PC Soon I build this PC. Thank so much sir, I like your content. Million thumbs up.
😇👍 glad you enjoyed it!
Add: For whatever it's worth, I've built my last two rigs with watercooling and doing hardcore rendering with simulations for engineering projects where they can run for days on end at max power, and the least reliable thing has been my keyboards.
Love the content how you break down the components and why for the use case. keep it up!
I'm not a computer person; but I really enjoy how you showed the building process, also nice selections of tunes, can you make the playlist available?
Thanks, I'm getting all my music from Artlist ;)
Saving this video because I'm going to be buying this motherboard next week or the one after. I'll be using mine strictly for a DAW,.. so my build is not going to be nearly as extreme as yours. Went with a different fractal case too
I have an older Fractal case. They are the best case in the world. Well worth the money.
Congratulations on the baby. 🤗
Oh I’m so late to this party! Been watching new intel alder lake stuff. Loving this Pro Art pc. Gold and black reminds me of 1989 Batman 👍🏽
Congrats, baby girl 👍🏽👏🏾👏🏾
;)
Man, if i could only have sumthing like it for my channel. I can't even record screens on my old HP 620, great build. It looks like it has good airflow.
TH-cam recommended me this video because I had previously searched for reviews of the mainboard featured, but the tastes of this video's host being quite different from mine makes me want to compare them.
1. The same board, of course, BUT…
Can the pc building noobs get a cable management video (I may or may not be a pc building noob)
this pc made for 4k 144hz high seetings gaming
Congrats on the baby girl! Looks like she will break a lot of hearts :)
my dream computer has a minimum of 2 x 3090 (nvlink) but so far it's just a dream.
Water cooling is the basis for many years, I have custom and I can not imagine going back to air. Sometimes I wonder why this pump noise is so loud, but when I use air cooling for the duration of water cleaning, I change my mind :)
Congrats man, great stuff as always, and many congrats on your newborn!!!!
This is a new level elegant.
My corsair vx450w 7 years warranty is still working fine since i bought it in 2008
OMG congratulations for the baby!
Congratulations on the baby ! Nice build, you should include a blender test as well.
Check out other parts, there's some blender benchmarks;)
Congratulations on the new baby!! ♥️
Congratulations on your baby girl.
And yeah, the build looks amazing as well :)
absolutely beast. top-notch PC building
😉👍
Congratulations for your baby girl :). Loved your video. Keep it up 👍
Congratulations with a little baby girl 👶
congratulation on the baby
Great video, Would you share the specs of your custom cables? Cablemods "configurator" tool is staright forward and easy to use. I was insterested in the exact specs of custom cables for this build. Congrats to your family on your new baby girl.
I think you can match my design by just looking at the cables, only thing I did was to add 4 combs instead of whatever was the default of each cable ;)
that machine is gorgeous and a beast. well done.
@@johndicus123 Thanks for the information. I do appreciate the comments.
Nice computer case. I'm slowly picking my parts and time to buy through this and next year. At the moment are looking for a computer case. This one is definitely at the moment in my second place of great looking computer cases!
Coming back to this, about 5 months later, I'm starting to find out its weaknesses.
- It's not Sli Compatible
- It has very few Pci-e lanes
It's likely for mid-level Creators That don't do 3D at a high-end scale or full Production.
I was considering upgrading my 3700X ... but might wait to see if Amd releases additional Cpu's for the X570 platform
that is truly a dream build. very nice and classy ..wondering if you can fit a 1000w psu or greater in that case.. because next years parts might need it..
Yeah, no problem!
Cingratulations to you and your hole family. I am dad as well and that feeling to new born baby to father is The greatest thing what life has given to me. God bless to your hole family. Good content mate. 😊❤️👍
Thanks mate! :)
17:24 You should put on the black Noctua NA-HC4 heatsink covers - it'll make the build look so much more beautiful.
Lovely review & congratulations 🎉🎈 For being Dad
;)
I got so excited about this build, I'm actually going to copy it for myself if you don't mind. I only have one question: How long are the cablemod extensions? Thanks mate! Much appreciate it. And congrats to you and your wife, I bet you're a great happy family.
Cablemod extensions are standard length in the configurator. :) copy it by all means, that's why I made it :)
I wasn’t expecting that Segway 😳
Very nice, I love the black and gold and the Noctua cooler.
move front Noctua fan to rear of the cooler .. u will then see rgb on ram sticks .. and u dont need rear exhaust on the case then
Congratulations, you are blessed!
I wish Fractal would do a Mini ITX version.
Thanks for the great review, looking forward to the rest of the parts!)
👍😉
Best video ever! Congratulations on your new daughter! The build is nice, too. 😉
What an awesome interruption to the video - Congrats from down Under
So far I have bought these things:
Case: Fractal torrent RGB
Fan: Fractal prism 140 fans X1
SSD: firecuda 530 1to
HDD: 2to barracuda
PSU: corsair rm1000x
Air cooler: deepcool as500 plus
Ram: 4x16 corsair Vengeance 5200mhz no RGB!
CPU guard: thermalright am5
Motherboard: not yet
Graphics card: not yet
Processor: not yet
I used this same cooler...no thermal paste provided! Luckily I had some on hand. But yes...great cooler. P.S. you can use too much paste. More is not better! Green-Pea sized drop is all you need.
Great video what size are the rgb fans will the Lian li uni fans fit
The baby segue killed me. I thought you were joking haha. Congratulations!
At least the Ryzen 9 5950x and the Noctua i have LOL. Very good looking and efficient machine. Congrats!
A lot of us were really here for the baby.
I was like, delivering baby? Haha. Congratulations mate
Having the PSU mounted up top isn't weird at all. That's how all ATX cases were designed 20 years ago.
