I work in the print industry. It's about a 90% they shop those plates out to an engraver. They actual process is kind of boring these days as it's mostly digital laser engraving.
Not only is the finished card stunning, but I feel like I just watched a beautiful art film. Seriously, whoever filmed/edited this was worth every penny.
My brother has worked in print for well over 20 years and I’ve been in his factory countless times without giving much thought to the process. Thanks to these videos I now appreciate what goes in to what he does!
Such a beautiful card! I googled her name and I must say, the card represents her work brilliantly. Of course it must cost quite a bit to make 11 plates and it takes a lot of foil but the impact is phenomenal. Once you have held this card you will never forget it. Thank you for another beautiful video, by the way! 🥰😍
Agreed. Business cards are so 'throwaway' that if I'm gonna go to the effort of anything, I want the people worthy of getting my card to think "wow, this itself is art'.
for all the workers in (Jukebox) planet : please don't you ever wake up in the morning and think you are nothing but awesome and LITTERLY UNIQUE!!!! cant wait to see you worldwide . you deserve all the respect, because you respect what you do(and thats rare to see nowadays) ! ____ your faithfully from Saudi Arabia.
I love machines like this and the people who take the time to learn the process. I hope the human element in this never goes away, because it creates such amazing things. Thank you for posting the video, it was fun to watch.
Every time I see these videos, I think I'd buy them in a shot (this, the PanAm wedding set, the cleaver-card etc etc) - if I could come up with a use for them. Accepting I have no use - but still wanting. Have you ever thought about selling these samples as art(isan)? i.e. Once you'd done a run, chuck one of each into an envelope. Then on your next run chuck one of each into the same envelopes - then when maybe there were 10 items in each envelope, sell them off. I'd buy, and can't be alone. Randomly guess you could charge way more than you do for each item in a bulk run, and definitely more than you get for sending out normal samples. Would be lovely to have a physical little example I could hold in my hand as I watched the video that made it .
You're not alone, I'd buy a set of these in a heartbeat - but I asked if I could buy one of the half-tone portraits and they responded with a no. I bet there's a legal thing to-do with how they don't actually own them, they've been commissioned to print them.
This card is sometimes included in our premium sample pack which potential clients can order to see how our products look and feel in their hands. So, some people already have this at home! I’ll try to make sure we have this card included in future orders of that same sample pack.
@@JukeboxPrintLive Wait! WE? How many people do you guys have, I mean employees. I really wanna to work there. Every time I was soooo exciting to watch the video make.
The card is nice, but your video is awesome. It made the card something to be had. Everyone want that card. In the old days the used dust powder, limited to silver or gold.
Hope you guys are doing ok! I love watching your videos. Helps me remember the beautiful things people are capable of creating. I am a student studying CAD/CAM and manufacturing so seeing how all this stuff is done manually is absolutely stunning. I love seeing what goes into making something. Truly inspiring.
ABSOLUTELY WETTTTT! ... This is one of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time!!!! Every piece is given it's own reverence. I heart this times 100. The guillotine scares me tho! Keep up the great work 💖
Extremely beautiful. Love to watch your channel. And I see that the feedback I gave on the description has already been corrected. Keep up the good work!
I really enjoyed your work. However, I do miss the previous style of videos in which you would explain tidbits here and there. Definitely a likable voice and a great way of explaining, I felt more engaged and part of the process. Godspeed man, great videos!
I love this. Your work is becoming more beautiful each time. The trimming scenes were mesmerising as were the shots of the sides. And your shirt matched!! But gmail - although oddly it worked because it balanced well, and the typography suited it. Ps if I lived near you I would regularly be found hanging around your backdoor like some print groupie waiting for you to throw out your waste material :)
👏👏👏👏👏damnnnnn thats beautiful!! Hearing the sound of that machine made it feel like its breathing...like a magician and his dragon are makin some magic!! 🧙♂️🐉🎉🎉🎉🎊
As a graphic designer who works in web design, print has been a whole other world and now im starting to appreciate it more. Would really love a video explaining tips on how to optimize files for printing for example
That's a great idea. Some print processes require different file types or separations so it would be a good idea to make a tutorial based on this. Thank you!
Just came across your video. I worked at a little printing company in Ann Arbor Michigan back in the early 90's. The windmill press was one of the ones I operated. It was a cool press. Registration was a bit difficult but I remember setting up a number counter for NCR a few times. Pretty fun machine.
elena went EXTRA with her business card. respect.
this is absolutely Stunning. Looks like a stained glass piece.
That’s what we thought too. Pretty unique design!
Wold love to see a vid on how you etch all the copper/brass plates you use
me too :)
Ditto.
CNC Milling/Routing
Looks like its been CNCed

She invested everything in her business cards, no money left for her own domain name.
My thoughts exactly!
Except......she also just advertised to 124k people and counting
😂😂😂
Not only is the finished card stunning, but I feel like I just watched a beautiful art film. Seriously, whoever filmed/edited this was worth every penny.
please more videos!!! Your videos is pure pleasure to watch
When true craftsmen are one with their tools, art emerges. It's amazing how much the black layer ties everything together.
There's a hairline of trapping that seems to seal it all together for that hit of black gloss foil. Thanks for your comment!
Its incredible what a difference the black veining makes
Looks like Tiffany’s glass, great video.
I love watching these videos. They're almost therapeutic.
That's what we're going for!
Look at that subtle holographic coloring. The tasteful thickness of it.
Oh, my God. It even has a watermark.

Now I want a whole hummingbird card! 😍😍😍
Now you're thinking!
How do you not fall asleep, working in a giant unintentional ASMR studio space??
The possibility of being crushed by 60 tonnes of pressure at 250 degrees keeps me wide awake and very attentive.
@@JukeboxPrintLive I see your point! Especially that last bit, with cutting off the borders.
This card design definitely seems inspired by the client, her art is very unique and forms interesting patterns.
Totally!

I hope so too!
This has to cost at least a couple grand for this order! That's 11 setups dayum!
Tristan Heitkemper I came to comments to say the same. These look so good. I have probably bought a car with what these cost.
Elegant, and playful. Reminds me of metal crystals from a meteorite under polarised light.
Beautiful machinery and craftsmenwork.
Thank you very much!

I'd also buy a sample pack and wouldn't care whose business card it was. These are works of art.
@@mariyacherniavska1589 I know - but I'd feel bad ordering samples, with no intention of ever buying more. Plus, I just want all the fancy stuff :)
Bro.. It's not a business card anymore, it's just a master piece. Really satisfying to watch, amazing job)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much!
I like this art, this balance between man and machine.
To which it will never end!
😊👍🏻
Thank you! It definitely feels like you become one with the press after a while!
^_^
@@JukeboxPrintLive Hopefully not literally. The press can take a finger/hand/arm and make it one with itself if the operator isn't careful!
Oh wow, these are truly a work of art.
This is gorgeous. I'd love to see how the plates are made as well.
Unbelievable piece of art!
Thank you!

I totally agree!
This card could be for a conversion therapy camp, and I wouldn't be able to bring myself to throw it out, it looks so nice.
