I already made a pre-order for the nokia x20 in russia. I'm totally aware of my choice and here are my reasons: 1-Design 2-Software updates (3 years) 3-Ziess camera 4-Cooling system 5-Gorilla Glass 5 6-Compostable case 7-I don't play games so the 480 snapdragon is not an issue for me. 8-I don't like software bugs, problems, advertising and the cameras of Poco, Oppo, Xiaomi etc. People should understand that the chinese market of smartphones is not reliable especially in terms of software support. IPS LCD is very comfortable for my eyes. By the way, Amoled/Oled screens are more likely to burn in and have more fading issues compared to IPS LCD. My only complain is that the 480 don't allow to record a 4k video, but if the x20 can record a smooth HD video without autofocus problems, it would be really cool.
Exactly same feeling brother.. SD 480 doesn't support 4K recording, that is only the problem.. Compare to Nokia X6 PPI also very less. X6( Nokia 6.1 Plus ) have 435 PPI X20 have 395 PPI..
I totally agree, with all but one point. I have a Huawai P20 Pro, and the 12MP camera can do 4K at 60Hz. it's the 480G chip that has the built in limitation, not so much the camera. I too am looking at the Nokia X20 real soon. be great if the back case could pop off to allow easy battery replacement, but that's maybe asking too much.
I don't understand why Apple can make a 1.000 $ Phone with a 60hz display but Nokia needs more than 60hz on a 300 $ Phone. Or the iPhone 11 still has LCD for 600 $ and Nokia is not allowed to do use LCD?
@@jeus_saaa nope ,The cost of manufacturing the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max does not exceed 500 dollars, and then they sell it to you for more than a thousand dollars. Is this reasonable in your opinion? And stock android also premium
Nokia 7.2. minor issues but I usually end up forgetting what they are. Chinese phones give you all the highest specs and then save prices in vital things like microphone and speaker. How the hell am I to have a decent call? And the amount of data they steal is absurd.
Yeah, I'm a camera buff, and people constantly say I should try one of the Huawei models, but after the spying scandal associated with that brand and some others from China, I say "no way!"
HMD global (bought Nokia in 2016) is Co Taiwanese/Finnish. (Taiwan isn't as bad a government as Pooh's party tho) And ps, on a side note, the Snapdragon 480 is actually faster than the Snapdragon 680 on Antulu.
True. While Android is free to use, maintaining and upgrading it isn't. Personally, I would use a Nokia smartphone if I ever decide to start trading on my countrys stock exchange because of the security updates and OS upgrades Nokia provides. Google and Nokia are enough for me when it comes to collecting personal information and usage data. On other smartphones, the extra apps, privacy policy (or policies), and other terms of use contracts are an additional compromise to data safety and integrity, and personal privacy. Many people don't realize this when it comes to dealing with financial matters on an Android phone. This is made worse when they leave the phone at its default settings.
@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE No problem as far as I'm concerned. Just as I do not entertain a Chinese branded car, likewise I stick with a European branded phone ! This so called 'value for money' propersition never ends in that the Chinese brands of almost anything almost always seems 'better' ?!? No exception even when it comes to phones as such. So as I get better peace of mind overall speaking from a Nokia device.... irregardless whatever Chinese shit brands around (which many of them use Nokia patents under license !) I might as well settle for the 'original brand' of almost anything I touch, so I still prefer a Nokia device at end of day ! BTW, of the various phones I use, the most updated is my Nokia 9 & 7+ (Mar 2021 security) even my Nokia 8 is Oct 2020..far more updated than my 4K Sony Xperia XZ Premium still stuck with July 2020 update same as my Huawei P20 Pro eventhough that more expensive phone than my 7+ ! !
@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE I was the owner of xiaomi and not a single system update gave me pleasure, as a rule, they are very poorly optimized, and I would recommend never updating Xiaomi devices
yes me tooo. Super underrated and I hope there will be plenty of Nokia choices when i want to buy one again.. My 7 plus is so simple and it works well because its constantly updated. My friends spend 700 euros for phones and they crap out and lagg after a year.. So jokes on them.
Me too :) I've been using the 7 plus for a couple of years now and it's still running fine! It might not be the most aesthetic phone I've ever had but it's definitely the most reliable!

And now Google and Qualcomm has revised the OS framework implementation, which means they could guarantee 3 years of android upgrade & 4 years of security updates, all depend on each manufacturers. Although the thing is it has started with snapdragon 888 onwards
@@mArvAlcao71 That's so awesome! So you reckon they'll update the pixel 4a for 4 years instead of 3? It's Google's own phone and it's still fairly new.
Having an LCD display instead of OLED is kind of a positive for PWM sensitive users like myself, so this one goes higher up in my list v/s the other ones you compared.
People are not aware of this issue. I am glad to have found your comment. I also suffered from PWM induced headache for around 6 months until I changed my phone to LCD iPhone.
@@neerand I discovered this when I had to switch from my iPhone SE last year and went with the Pixel 4a. Started getting eye strains and then eventually headaches and even almost like mini seizures. And Im the guy who is 8-10 hrs in front of screens every day and nothing of this sort happens. By the time I realized and looked up the issue of PWM, I was out of return period so I had to sell my 4a. Really loved the device otherwise. Now about a week ago I bought Pixel 5, reading from PWM sensitive users that its easier on their eyes. On the first day of using it my eyes started burning, I started getting headaches in minutes. Returned it the very next day. Im not touching an OLED display anymore. Its a shame too coz the display and colors are excellent with the OLED, I can see colors that I never saw on my other LCD screens. Lets hope the tech evolves and they can give us the same experience without the horrible flicker. I wish more influencers with bigger audiences talked about this issue tho.
@@Alduizard its good that we can perceive it in the form of headache. Imagine your brain automatically dilate and contract your pupil many times a second and you don’t even know it. Even though some people cannot perceive it doesn’t mean it won’t have any long term damage to our vision. Even me, I will never touch an OLED phone again. OLED will ultimately be followed by Mini-LED display. OLED is just a transitional tech and it is associated with flaws such as PWM and burn in. Until then, people like us will have to choose the remaining LCD IPS phone on the market.
For me id rather choose the nokia x20 compared to your preferred choices. Quality, durability, balance and longevity of usage are my priority compared to spec race.
I agree. I just got it and it reminds me of my Nokia Lumia 1520 which I used for almost 6years and absolutely loved that phone. The x20 is really similar just doesn't have the wireless charging which I think Nokia should have done with the x20. I just got the x20 two days ago. It's not behind. I'm loving the longevity of this phone hopefully they keep with the updates after 3 years cause I would like to see if I'm able to keep it as long as my Lumia 1520
I love my Nokia X20! It has superior software, great build quality and good enough specs. Do other phones in this price range have 8 gigs of ram, 5g and Gorilla glass 5?
the most important thing is that NOKIA ISNT OWNED BY A CHINESE COMPANY that is also governed by the chinese communist party. And Nokia doesnt throw u stupid ads or forces u to use chinese owned apps that are a tool by the chinese govermment to spy on us. SO OVERALL NOKIA IS 100000000000000000000000 TIMES BETTER

@@joakim1462 That's true. But it still lacks a 3.5 mm jack and micro sd expansion. Plus I really don't like how Oxygen OS is slowly evolving away from stock and more towards Color Os. I love my stock android but geez we have barely any good midrange options with Moto and Nokia.
@@sanchitvarma1282 agree i also love stock android. Used to be a Nexus guy but Google isnt releasing their pixel in my country. Most android one phones are too weak imo.
I bought the X20 yesterday after spending hours reason reviews and specs. Tbh, I've never spent so long deciding on a phone over the past few decades. However, so much consideration and what seems like impressive hardware specs on rivals. However, this phone is great. I'm not sure better Sienna are requested. PLUS (a big plus) I read usercomment on a forum which stuck with me whilst making my decision. Nokia gives 3 year warranty and years of updates ( future proof) and the commenter highlighted the fact that updates on other phones have slowed up the hardware on rivals phones. The analogy used was so you want the rush of having a " high speced paperweight or a usable phone ". They have a point. The updates are worthy and in real life, this phone is great.
480 5g is same as powerful than 720g. 3 year warranty is missed by you. Lcd and oled, 60hz 90hz are just marketing terms. If display Looks and feels great that is fine.

Nokia FINALLY released a midrange phone with a Full HD Display, a decent main camera, and compass! Yay. The bar is low but something is better than nothing. I love my stock android but have been really wanting for decent stock phones in 2020.
Only if the phone had like SD 690 instead of 480 .... This phone definitely would've been my top priority .... I really need a stock android midrange with a good processor ... Using my Mi A1 for nearly 3.5 years now
@@shobham2941 Xiaomi has you covered! The Snapdragon 480 is so underrated though. The 480 is only ~12% worse than the 720g, consumes less power and has 5G. The 480g is a no-brainer for people who need an affordable phone and don't care about gaming or 4K video recording. In your situation I'd consider a refurbished flagship. "Midrange with good processor" only exists on Chinese phones which ship with a lot of bloatware. You could also wait for the Motorola G100 to drop in price (it likely will).
@@kornaros96 That was way back in early 2018. They haven't released a fullHD midranger since the 7.2/6.2 in Sep 2019. (Not counting the incredibly overpriced 8.3 which never made it to India).
I just bought one to replace my old Galaxy S4 & am most impressed with it so far. It ticks all of the boxes re. features which I require, ie. no bloatware, a great price, great battery life, camera looks good, it has an sd card slot, and it seems lightening fast compared to my much loved old phone - very happy with it. l'm not a techie but I very much enjoyed your video, thanks.
Do you keep a Snapdragon 480 phone for 3 years? To slow, you will replace it in 2 years with the next cheap Nokia phone many times more powerful just wait and see. This is too slow for me unfortunately It will only frustrate me,I wish Nokia had a more powerful phone with 90hz screen.
In Poland there is a strange situation that everyone strongly criticizes Nokia. When I asked about Nokia smartphones in the store, they laughed at me. And I've had my Nokia 8 for five years and it's never broken down. The battery just doesn't last long after five years of everyday using. In Poland, many people buy chinese devices Realme, Xiaomi, Poco etc. Why? I do not understand it. Can somebody explain it to me?
Picked up this phone at the end of June '21. I've had a good 9 months use out of it. Great build quality, great battery life, solid OS not had issues. Cameras are great although not spectacular (I had a Pixel 3 XL before this!). Saying that it does have full manual controls on the camera and also plenty of options to shoot more creatively. I particularly like the duo video camera where you can have two camera feeds into one screen. Works well and given me some pictures that the Pixel would never have! :) The screen is a good size for working with, perfect aspect ratio for consuming video (16:9). Sound although mono crisp and loud enough. Love the clean fast unbloated OS. Had an OS update shortly after Android 12 was released and just had a the monthly security patch so things are kept upto date. Its got a nice hefty solid feel to it which I like and appreciated the screen protector and case supplied with it. Nokia also planted 20 trees on behalf of me when I bought this. One of the aspects that appealed to me is that Nokia are at least trying to make sustainable phones with 3 years warranty and updates so yes maybe more expensive vs other on a simple paper spec sheet comparison but in use its great! Call quality great and 5G useful when out and about - its getting more popular these days so handy to have on board. Only slight downside is can lack a bit of smoothness when flicking between apps etc. Not hugely noticeable when using the phone on a daily basis but if you are coming from a flagship device to this then you will notice a little. Not a huge problem and given the price differential acceptable! Great phone and a solid well performing dependable work and play tool. No problems here with it! :) The Nokia ringtone makes me smile every time it rings :D
I've kept buying nokias because they have been lasting a lot. Still have the 7.1, which I still think it is beautiful and elegant, and after 2 years and a half I still only need to charge it every 2 days, like it was when I've bought it. Even if at the time there were also reviews just like this one, where the processor was criticized, I still bought it and I do not regret it. I'm just going to replace it because I've broken the screen before the pandemic (1 year and a half ago) after a really harsh fall. It shattered but almost unnoticeable. Only now some parts started getting out and exposing the inside, which told me that or I'd replace its screen or I'd replace it... So, I'm going for the X20. The main reason is that I don't want to be changing my phone frequently, I want it to last because it annoys me to configure a new phone, inserting the passwords, the phone book, etc. And I don't expect to have to replace this one in the next 3 years. But I do agree, for the price, they should have used at least a better processor, not the lowest of the line...
OK, the competition offers better specs! But I prefer to use a Nokia device with 3 years of updates and with pure android, I trust HMD more, because I have a Nokia 7 Plus and it is like new, the competition uses modified android that makes it unpleasant to use.
@@ecologiadederecha4844 Yes, Most smartphones with intermediate specifications satisfy in the day, cameras that take good pictures during the day, good battery, and a promise of 3 years of updates is a good deal, I don't change smartphones every year, so this Nokia X20 would be a good deal for me.
I remember that 7 Plus phone, I used to liking it because of its cool copper accented design but that's about it, then the lineup start went underwhelming. And as a whole, I think the new Nokia (under HMD) has been pretty unremarkable. I'm really not sure what they're doing exactly. Their recent products have uninspiring design and the spec (I know it's not everything) but really bad value for the price (Samsung offers better specced phones sometimes lol). I wish they got their shit back together and bring back the wonder from Nokia of old. I still remember the Lumia design from years ago. Still iconic and more cheerful compared to dullness of these new Nokia design. I used to be really excited with old Lumia even though it runs flawed Windows Phone OS because Lumia looks so cool, love the saturated colours on polycarbonate material especially cyan. It looks and feels high end. They already nailed on the software department like stock Android experience and long support, just need to refine in other parts as well. My 2 cents
@@obidean3964 Tbe design of the new nokia phones is something most analitics qualify as great, which I agree, of course, knowing that "looks" are something subjective.
@@obidean3964 I think that many fans of the Nokia brand are disappointed with the current products, but let's remember that HMD is a "Startup" that will complete 5 years of life in December 2021, and they are playing with what they have at the moment, all the difficulties and lack of money, HMD still lacks the strength to fight the giants (Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi)! We have to think like this: HMD is a small company wanting to fight to maintain the Nokia brand philosophy despite the market being so competitive at the moment, and the products launched so far are the best that it can offer. We have to give a time for a new company like HMD to gain solid foundations and later premium products will appear.
I wish the screen size was smaller and had smaller bezels, 60hz is fine but 90hz wouldve been better and they should added a oled screen but it's fine it they don't.
@@arhlenitchon8793 huh? But Nokia isn't the only non Chinese smartphone which exists, Samsung is a Korean and not Chinese company and they provide better phones at this price point.
Great review, but there's one thing about Nokia phones that no other manufacturercan compete with: you can drop the phone onto concrete and the screen won't crack. And that's worth a lot, £180 or €200 for a screen replacement to be exact.
*touch phone mid-air in freefall above the concrete* It is that moment when you know... you fucked up. No, seriously, why do you think nokia will survive?
I want a decent phone, that handle being dropped on the floor, doesn't come with annoying bloatware and that doesn't send my data to China. Seems like a good buy this one.
Thx 4 the review. I've bought the x20 (just waiting for it to arrive). Main point for me is indeed the Android One software (Too bad it is not really taking off.... Kudos to Nokia/HMD for sticking to it). And the 3yrs of updates. 5G is nice but for me personally not that important. The other specs may be a bit less compared to what others deliver, but I expect them to be good enough. I am updating from the Xiaomi Mi A1 (their first Android One and imo a very nice and well-specced device at that time) which is stuck at Android 9, so A11 to A14 without bloatware on my next phone sounds good! We'll see....
The dealbreaker for me would be the advertisements on the alternative phones. The Xiaomi/Poco lock screen ads, for example. Stock Android has it too though: the Photos app selling card prints around mothers/fathers day, but it's not as bad as with other brands and you can disable the advertisement notifications in the notification permissions of the Photos app.
2:30: fyi the sd 720g is not "very low power" chipset. It has similar or better performance than sd 732g on Xiaomi phones. Sd 480 is no low power either. In fact it got maybe almost 100% upgrade from sd 460 and it now has 5g and it's great it can compete with some of the midranger from last year.
I don't play games on my phone. That's what computers and games consoles are for, so 60hz isn't a problem. Again, I'm not bothered about a mono speaker, as long as I can listen to stuff on my headphones in stereo. What's a deal breaker for me, are phones which try to force me to use those wireless ear buds, by not providing a jack socket.
While I understand the issue, Snapdragon 480 is quite a depart from previous 400 series, because it has some fast processors in the array (2x Cortex-A76), contrary to previous designs that had only "little" cores. So its a 700-series class chipset despite the name. Your own comparison puts it surprisingly close to its bigger brothers. So thank you for it: vast majority of reviewers infers performance from naming alone.
Yes it is kind of very sad that they never could make anything as good as 7 Plus (Spring 2018). That black/copper colored aluminium built phone looked premium and awesome, and camera was also nice with 2x Zoom Lens - both of which never returned!
Exactly! I am still using my nokia 7 plus which in my opinion has the best build quality. Dear nokia, could you please release a fan edition device with the same build quality as 7 plus but with a 800 series processor? I would buy it in a heart beat!

Hi Chap, IPS LCD is boon for people suffering from PWM used in OLED screens. So, please do not push the companies to give OLED screen for every mid range phone. And if you have time, please do a video about PWM and its health effects on some people just so that people are aware about it. I had to deal with nauseas and headaches for around 6 months because of using OLED smartphone. Now that I am back to LCD iPhone, things are back to normal.
This happened to me too and now I won't buy a phone with oled screen. Moved to a Poco X3 NFC with IPS LCD screen and no more headaches and sore eyes. I'm fed up with oled being pushed as the best screen tech and I disagree that it looks better than lcd. Also don't know why folks say you can't have an aod on LCD as the Nokia 920 and LGg5 both had aod's and both were LCD.
@@adamcorns2438 yes, LCD are more colour accurate. And the display seems good for the eyes. OLEDs seem more saturated and its light seems harsh. Good that people have started to get aware of this problems of OLED.

I will never buy another Nokia phone. I usually stick to Motorola. Last July, when my Motorola started having minor issues, I went with Nokia because that's what the store had. Nokia C5 Endi to be exact. That Nokia just did a software update 3 weeks ago and I have been locked out ever since. It doesn't recognize my finger scan and won't accept my PIN. My carrier wasn't able to help, they sent me over to a cell phone repair place. The repair shop suggested a hard reset. I've been dealing with Nokia's customer care since the day this happened and they are basically useless. They suggested various methods of a soft reset, none of which worked. They told me to lock (and erase) the phone through my Google account. I don't want to erase the phone. They said to connect phone to a PC to pull data. My IT friend did that with his Windows PC and it didn't work. The PC doesn't even see the phone connected. He thinks the phone was corrupted by the update. Now Nokia wants me to send the phone to them since it's under warranty and have their tech look at it. They warned me that they most likely will have to factory reset it. I cannot afford to.lose everything on that phone. Text messages. Photos (very few of them backed up). I'm using my old Motorola currently, and have found a Motorola that I want. I wish Nokia had a better way to help. I wish I could send it to them and have their tech unlock that phone without having to reset it and causing me to lose everything. I've never had a phone do this. And like I said, I will never buy another Nokia.
Motorola has to be the budget king 👑! I got G8 Power for a ridiculously low 149€. Stereo speakers, 5000 mh battery, Full hd+ screen, 1+4 camera lenses.
I'm pretty sure your phone is the one I want! I love Motorola. I had a Moto E 2nd Generation for 3 years and then the screen started peeling off of it. That's when I switched to the E5 Cruise, which I used for 2 years before switching to Nokia. Glad I kept it. We put the SIM card back in it and now it works fine!! I ❤️❤️❤️ Motorola!
Another big issue with Nokia HMD is that their phones become buggy when a new Android version gets loaded. They don't sort out those bugs, so the phone that works pretty well on release actually gets worse.
Actually my experience with Nokia is in other direction. Rebooting and bugs for the first weeks or a month then with updates gets better and stable. Even when last security update is received it works smoothly a year and a half for now. And this is third android version I'm using. Not a single problem.
@@NyPk92 same thought, I feared that my Nokia 8 is getting less stable because of restarts in the first few weeks and now there's not a single problem there. Became more stable and I'm still using it 😄

Same here, I've been using a Nokia 8 for years and it's been great. I think I'll be upgrading to the x20 as Nokia have always given good solid performance for me and the screen is still in scratched.

An English speaking person might not get the button, but for me as a Swede, when "Ok/Hey, Google" don't work most of the time, is a very welcome edition. It make GA much easier to activate fast. Kinda strange that Sony phone vanished for their nemesis Nokia in James Bond movies.
Stock Android is a major plus for the Nokia. I don't know about those other brands, but I've seen some Android phones with terrible bloatware and ads on top of that, and I'd rather not bother trying to live with that. If any of the alternatives also came with stock Android, then we'd be talking.

I have been using my nokia 6.1 few months after launch, got it for only 150€ ehat was pretty good deal and looking forward for this phone on black Friday sale. The 60hz and speaker's and camera and batterys are all great bonuses for me bc im purely buying the phone for pure Android and for that it doesn't slow down after years of use unlike my friends have been complaining with 1 year old phoned getting slower.
Snapdragon 480 is better than most the 600 so it's ok but £300 is a bit sticky. Not really a £300 phone but if it gets to £200 then it's actually not too bad.
I think the X20 is a decent phone, but at the 300 GBP PP unconvincing. Right now [apr 2021] the outgoing Nokia 7.2 is about 160 GBP refurbished and down to a staggering 100 GBP from resellers. So unless you need 5G (i.e. you're a fantasist living in a city), and must have a 64MP not 48MP lens, and the latest phone bragging rights, I know what I would rather suggest.
Most phone users are not tech so they will see the benefits in the Nokia. Would I buy it and use it? Yes but it would have to be cheap. I am a Moto fan and I can but 2 G30 for one X20 and the G30 and X20 are a bit close in specs. So I can keep G30 and then buy another for the price of the X20.
Hey Tech Chap, think you're underestimating the Brand Loyalty and warm feeling to Nokia as a historic phone brand... even though we all know its not the same Nokia... it's like driving an Audi, the other brands you mention don't have that history, cache and "perceived" better camera reputation, which they've captured be keeping the Zeiss logo on there... good video though and I'm about to click Buy on the Nokia... thanks
Off/on topic, on price I got a moto one 5g ace unlocked for $189. This I believe was a best buy mess up in the states. With a plan from them it's still $279. Has a 750g so that's a great price for a 5g phone.
You mentioned the key to this phone (as well as the G series and their previous 2-9 series too)...the software. The Android One software is not the same as regular Android. It is a slimmed down and optimised software designed to work on specific hardware. That is part of Android One phones, they have a limited set of hardware option to choose from to be in the program. That said, when you lower the options and make the software for the hardware you will get a better experience. That is also why you see Nokia using the hardware they do (as well as others in the program) in their phones and their phones are very reliable and don't need the higher specs to have a great experience with them. That is also why they get the 2 and now 3 years of OS updates and security patches. Good video by the way.
I don't know why people are comparing Nokia with LG? Nokia's fate will never be the same as the company is HMD not Nokia. At the end they don't lose anything, they'll finish their 10 year contract and leave the Nokia brand. Nokia as a company is no more into mobile business and will never be. HMD when they started, they were very clear, they are focused only on overall experience with pure, secure and up-to-date software. That still continues but we have become greedy for the specs because at the end Nokia phones are far better when it comes to build quality.

HMD saved a lot of money recycling designs, using old screens, and choosing android one which leaves em no work to do in terms of software. And they sell it to you like it really costed work for them. While they didn't do anything new. They just rely on partners. That's why current Nokia phones are so generic and boring.
Hi guys. I bought this phone and here's what I have to say. This is the best phone I have ever had. Before that, I used Xiaomi. And in relation to xiaomi, no matter what processor you have there, but with the first update of the shell, you will be sick of it. Advertising in applications from xiaomi is generally creepy. This phone leaves a pleasant experience. As for the 4 series processor, this is a delusion, because this is an updated line. Aida 64 as 750G. Everything is good with his performance. You can compare this in a benchmark. No freezes, no freezes, it just works as it should and that's all you need to know about this device. As for the camera, oh god! This is a phone, not a DSLR! For a phone it is quite normal.
Yes, your right about x20 price,,,, i bought yesterday the Nokia 5.4. here it cost 130 dolars! i think contrary to x20,this Nokia 5.4 is near the best you can buy at that price(130 dolars). i know the 5.4 is well below the x20, but i am talking about cost-benefit. thank you
Would it be safe to say that someone like myself who prefers the clean snappy UI over the speedy elements and capacity to play games etc would find this a much more palatable phone than one of the chinese ones (xiaomi etc.) that have an iffy OS ?
I’m giving up iPhone XR to get mid range phone , but want to spend up to £300 , I want a phone with a great battery life , I don’t do gaming though . Just like TH-cam sometimes , can you recommend anything?
If your a Nokia fan then the 8.3 can be had for between £250 to £300 and that’s a far superior phone in every way. The G20 just isn’t value for money. It’s just relying on Android one and the Nokia name.

POCO F3 Review?!?!?!?!??!
I think what is important in Nokia experience is the reliability & the 3 years guaranteed updates & support
I already made a pre-order for the nokia x20 in russia. I'm totally aware of my choice and here are my reasons:
1-Design
2-Software updates (3 years)
3-Ziess camera
4-Cooling system
5-Gorilla Glass 5
6-Compostable case
7-I don't play games so the 480 snapdragon is not an issue for me.
X6( Nokia 6.1 Plus ) have 435 PPI
X20 have 395 PPI..
Also added to that... you get 8GB of Ram as standard if you order from Nokia, which I just have... :-)
I agree. Also you left out that the X20 is made out of recycled phones so that's also a major draw to this phone.
This is an expert who knows what they are talking about, especially about those Chinese phones.👍
I don't understand why Apple can make a 1.000 $ Phone with a 60hz display but Nokia needs more than 60hz on a 300 $ Phone. Or the iPhone 11 still has LCD for 600 $ and Nokia is not allowed to do use LCD?

The cost of upgrading and maintaining the device over the years should be factored in. It's in the device price that you pay. And that's significant.
@@dead_on_departure True. That's why I am using Nokia right now. So I am sad that there is no new 'good' phone coming out. If you knew what I meant...

3 years of updates is slick. Expectialy when all brands counts support time from a day of release, and doing it for much shorter time.
Now Samsung does it too.

I discovered this when I had to switch from my iPhone SE last year and went with the Pixel 4a.

The screen is a good size for working with, perfect aspect ratio for consuming video (16:9).

We'll see....
How is your experience so far!?
The dealbreaker for me would be the advertisements on the alternative phones. The Xiaomi/Poco lock screen ads, for example. Stock Android has it too though: the Photos app selling card prints around mothers/fathers day, but it's not as bad as with other brands and you can disable the advertisement notifications in the notification permissions of the Photos app.

@@neerand the problem with oled is that you have to program the screen so colors display accurately, and the problem is that most midrangers don't do that making the screen looking off
It's still a great great phone Nokia came up with. I bought this from a duty free shop in Doha for a relative and he's loving it
Using 5.1 plus for 2 years and guess what it is running as smoothly as it used to.
Chinese phones after 1 year use don't work smoothly.
2. You don't get any unwanted apps in Nokia.
3. Your data is safe and china can't track you.
4. Specs are for nerds and loosers...if phone is working good and running smoothly then fuck with the specs.
Windows phone with even 512mb ram were smooth as compared to android phones with 2 GB ram.
It's all about OS....Nokia should develop their own os or they should just partner up with sailos.
Do not underestimate the lcd, it's their lcd, it has better colors, texture, contrast, i know it because I had one, and lcd had no bleeding and screen burning from time to time (not like amoled)
I would buy Nokia x20 because:
5g
Stock android
Good battery
Design
Software updates
Headphone jack
Decent camera
Good battery life
Butt I will still go for the Poco f3 because:
Snapdragon 870
Super Amoled
120hz
Design
I am fine with miui but would still prefer stock android.
When will the POCO F3 review come? I am really hyped for that phone!
Working on it!

Became more stable and I'm still using it 😄
I got it, only thing I can fault is the resolution doesn’t go beyond 1080p, other then that I think it’s a great phone, good interface and very fast, no complaints
5g, 60 hz display, years of future updates, no charger in the box. Basically the same specs as the Iphone 12... Didn't hear you complain about that on the Iphone mr. "tech" chap.
my phone now is nokia 8 and its with me since 2017 and still in a good performance nokia is a wonderfull phone and reliable
Same as here ..8 still Rocks
Same here, I've been using a Nokia 8 for years and it's been great. I think I'll be upgrading to the x20 as Nokia have always given good solid performance for me and the screen is still in scratched.
Not scratched
720g is same as 480 5g power wise but graphic is powerful in later. Plus os is sleek.
Good video Mate you kept me on board the whole way through and as a tech troll, I'll be quite happy to now select a Secondhand one of these for it's simplicity and lack of preinstalled apps..Cheers Mucka!
An English speaking person might not get the button, but for me as a Swede, when "Ok/Hey, Google" don't work most of the time, is a very welcome edition. It make GA much easier to activate fast.
Kinda strange that Sony phone vanished for their nemesis Nokia in James Bond movies.
I've just spent a decade using Sony and have switched to Nokia. Am I James Bond?!
2:59 "The Realme dared to leap off my desk"
nice pun
Wish you did chapters in your videos. Makes watching tech videos easier as you can jump to information that is relevant to you.
Does X20 come with Pure display technology like nokia 7.2?
Yep
Stock Android is a major plus for the Nokia. I don't know about those other brands, but I've seen some Android phones with terrible bloatware and ads on top of that, and I'd rather not bother trying to live with that. If any of the alternatives also came with stock Android, then we'd be talking.
When are they stopping to put chins in their phones it's been 5 years I am pissed
So you are ok with companies who put big logo on the back. 👎
@@lawrencejb6829 not really I have a p2xL and haven't upgraded since for not liking the new phones. I'm kinda strange I just want a symetrical phone and I don't like chins. I'm on Android side though if with the big logo you meant apple
@@lawrencejb6829 I understand with realme wit there big ass logo "Dare to LEap" at the back.
But Nokia are putting logos at the front and back.

That dreaded moment when you drop a phone and have to turn it round to see if the screen is smashed.😱
No need to turn if it would be Nokia. 😄
Don't really care about what type of screen it is or how fast the processor is, so long as I can listen to music on the move and use it as a modern for my laptop, none of the other stuff matters
For selfie it's not cool. But the back camera is the real deal. It's everything, especially night mode.
3 years warranty xD
True
Two words; Headphone Jack.
Another 2 words; Expandable memory
If it just works and lasts longer it doesn’t matter what the specs are for most people
Nice that you picked up on the similarities between 8.3 and X20.
Hey Tech Chap, think you're underestimating the Brand Loyalty and warm feeling to Nokia as a historic phone brand... even though we all know its not the same Nokia... it's like driving an Audi, the other brands you mention don't have that history, cache and "perceived" better camera reputation, which they've captured be keeping the Zeiss logo on there... good video though and I'm about to click Buy on the Nokia... thanks
Guys remember, THE 6GB MODEL HAS A 60HZ SCREEN!!! THE 8GB MODEL HAS 90HZ!!!
You sure about that ? nothing on the Nokia site about that
What?

I'm still using Nokia 8.1 about 2 year
so far still good condition.X20 now pre order in Malaysia.. i will buy
I kinda like that Nordic blue color. Better than Xiaomi or poco colorways with their latest recently released phones.
Off/on topic, on price I got a moto one 5g ace unlocked for $189. This I believe was a best buy mess up in the states. With a plan from them it's still $279. Has a 750g so that's a great price for a 5g phone.
Same here, I got a Moto G Stylus 2021 for under $200.00 w/SD 678 making Nokia phones seem like a rip off.
Do you have a video editor?
The chipset is powerful than you realized, the score in the antutu bench in real time is 320k plus, it is more powerful than snapdragon 720G but similar to 750G 5G

HMD saved a lot of money recycling designs, using old screens, and choosing android one which leaves em no work to do in terms of software. And they sell it to you like it really costed work for them. While they didn't do anything new. They just rely on partners. That's why current Nokia phones are so generic and boring.
Great review...about this phone👈❤️
Yes, your right about x20 price,,,, i bought yesterday the Nokia 5.4. here it cost 130 dolars! i think contrary to x20,this Nokia 5.4 is near the best you can buy at that price(130 dolars). i know the 5.4 is well below the x20, but i am talking about cost-benefit. thank you
Sir, how long battery backup it gives.
Nokia is not for competition its is love 💘.
Its competitors are Xiaomi and their motto is ‘OUR personal data’
Would it be safe to say that someone like myself who prefers the clean snappy UI over the speedy elements and capacity to play games etc would find this a much more palatable phone than one of the chinese ones (xiaomi etc.) that have an iffy OS ?
whats the phone called far left?
I’m giving up iPhone XR to get mid range phone , but want to spend up to £300 , I want a phone with a great battery life , I don’t do gaming though . Just like TH-cam sometimes , can you recommend anything?
If your a Nokia fan then the 8.3 can be had for between £250 to £300 and that’s a far superior phone in every way. The G20 just isn’t value for money. It’s just relying on Android one and the Nokia name.
@the tech chap would you be able to let hmd global to remove that Nokia logo from front ..

Can the X20 do 4K 24 fps in daylight fairly decently? Thanks...
