Peter Brötzmann is a German free jazz saxophonist and clarinetist. While studying painting, Brötzmann experienced American Jazz at a Sidney Bechet concert after which he taught himself clarinet and saxophone, and eventually the tárogató. Hamid Drake (born August 3, 1955) is an American jazz drummer widely regarded as one of the best percussionists in jazz and improvised music. Incorporating Afro-Cuban, Indian, and African percussion instruments and influence, in addition to using the standard trap set, Drake has collaborated extensively with top free jazz improvisers. He studied drums extensively, including eastern and Caribbean styles. He frequently plays without sticks, using his hands to develop subtle commanding undertones. What a wonderfully spiritual set here, each musician plays off each other beautifully here. As expected Brotzmann especially leaves me nothing but inspired, just truly wonderful work here I hope I can see these 3 men play live one day.

What an amazing combination of musicians! There is a beauty here that is at the same time so completely of Earth and flesh and also so utterly transcendent ... A reminder that flesh and spirit, Earth and beauty, are not two things ... are not THINGS at all, but an ongoing and inseparable dance ... a playing together ... But enough of words (which can never do more than point toward the galaxies they wish to describe), now I give myself over to ecstasy. Thank you ....
