I feel absolutely awful for his little brother. He has to share a room with two people and a baby! Why didn’t they apply for housing at the start?Or stay at her parents house?

    • @soapiesoap5649

No shit! Parents shouldn’t of agreed to that not fair on the brother. They got themselves into that situation the brother shouldn’t have to cop it because of their irresponsibility.

They’d have been to Young to get the house at the beginning. I also wondered why they couldn’t be with her family, maybe they’re in a worse position, who knows.
I do feel for the brother.

But I can’t be more desapointed by how irresponsable he is.... i ‘m surprise how calm those new and premature grand-parents are! Having kids itself is happy event. But this is way too early. They are not even able to provide the basic to their child today...how they will do in the futur? They should be at school building their dream career and not waiting for maturity age to get benefits. What a bright futur! And that baby? will he have the best education to success also? I doubt. Just start a vicious cercle.

He could also take some sort of general education class. In the USA we have a GED thats the same as a diploma. I am sure Britain has the same thing with a different name.
Btw he can get college credits from military service.

Nope nothing like that in the U.K. at all. We don’t have GED’s - it’s just not a thing here.
We can also leave school at 16 to go into training or work (England is different from Scotland where they live - you can just leave at 16 in Scotland but England requires you do further education or training or some sort until 18).
We don’t have high school graduation either. You do exams at 15/16 and that’s your education. Your results are posed to you and that’s it.
You can choose to stay in school an extra year or two for additional exams and qualifications (generally needed if you want to go to university). He didn’t drop out of high school and neither did she. They stayed the legally required years and left. Many people do and not everyone wants to persuade academic careers.
Also the army credits thing isn’t the same here - the army do train people themselves specific jobs.
The U.K. education system is nothing like the USA at all. Also Scotland is very different from the rest of the U.K. and we have a different education structure, exams, even university degrees are completely different in Scotland than England.

Abortion is also legal until a liberal 24 weeks. Still didn't stop like 70% of the people from my year at school having a kid before they were 25.
Honestly, I don't know what the solution is. I think people are comforted when they grow up around other people who have kids young. It makes them think 'well if they can do it, so can I'.

My dad was kind of opposite... he found out my mom was pregnant and after 9 years in the Air force, he left. My mom wanted him to stay in the force because he was making good money. She said that she would move in with her sister and they would just raise us and her kids together. It’s a common practice in her culture. But my dad couldn’t fathom not being in our lives. He’s been very active in our lives since. It was hard for them financially, because when he left, all they had for him was an empty apartment with a mattress on the floor. But he did his best to provide for us and as an adult, I appreciate every fiber of his being. I’m glad that he was there every moment of our childhood.
