Prince was obsessive about tempo; notice his sets never suffer the mistake of hyper tempo: that habit so many performers have of playing the song too fast. That usually robs the song of it's natural funk. If anything, I really think that it's never a sin to play it a hair too slow...

This was when he started leaving The Time off the show. They backed up Vanity 6 behind the curtain wearing robes and flip flops. The 'Musicology' tour. I was single then, but bought 2 tickets, because I knew I could get a random hottie to go with me... Then I saw him in Miami's South Beach introducing Tamar. He only backed her and didn't do any of his stuff.
Timeless ...arguably one of the greatest songs of all time ... definitely top five for me ...and my kids ....grew up in Italy and had the good fortune to have heard this music as kids (I soft- brainwashed them and it worked !)
