I hot a 55 150 2 Dr Wagon from my DAD...It had 100,367 miles on it and sat in his yard for 5 years before I got it from him...he overhauled the 235 box stock rings and rod bearings(2.311) crank was perfect...I drove it home...after a new battery and AC 44's...bang...it turned over 3 times and fired right up...wow...I WANTED TO PUT A RAT AND STRAIGHT AXLE WITH FENDERWELL HEADERS 5 OR 6 SPEED etc etc...I never could put myself to that task...I had well over 300,000 miles on it when I sold it(wrecked in front) to a retired Fireman...by old girl...YOU WERE A GOOD HORSE!!! I PUT 3.55 GEARS(after the OEM 3.90 gears toasted) IN IT AND AN OVER DRIVE...WOW...30MPG...OK...The orig 3 on the tree was still there...so many places I drove it in and out of...great ground clearance...added 1 leaf to springs in rear...and lowered the front about 1.5" maybe 2"...it had the perfect rake I wanted...chrome rims with the OEM dog dishes(white paint/55...black/56 not on my car)I took it up Fire Roads near San Bdno, Calif...memories buddy...but your gold gorgous 55 was close to what I had in mind...A man deserves 3 things in life; a good Mother... a good Dog & good Horse!!!. (Old Cowboy Saying)
One of the finest reproductions of an early street and strip gasser I've seen to date. The job was done by a man with very good taste and know how. I've built gassers like this and it s hard to get this quality after everything is planned. Thousands of hours and worth every damn penny. I'm old now and still want to build another one ! This kind of machine is coming back and NHRA is dying from its ignorant sellout to big money ......The east coast is growing these again and packing the pits and stands to see them......I don't know the price but its probably high ?

Hot damn! This is the first time I've ever seen PERFECTION in anything. Beautiful paint, excellent interior, magnificent well-tuned engine, clean as a whistle, and the cameraman was right on the spot from the beginning to the finish - even the undercarriage and the close-up of the wing window latch! I say hot damn! But I'd be afraid risking damage running it at the strip, to tell you the truth. And I bet that was about $100 worth of gas while that beauty sat there idling. 😊

Agree and you can do it with EFI which would actually improve the drive ability! Great suggestion. Only things I would add would be a PS rack (I am an old fart), a Gear Vendors OD unit and then sign me up for Drag Week!

Clean,straight & nice generous radius on openings in rear quarters. I guess this '55 would be considered a ' new generation ALMOST retro gasser ' since it has those modern day Rocket or E/T 10 spokes up front.
Man, I ran across a steering wheel just like that at a swap meet and passed on it. It was cheap enough and would have looked great on my chevelle wagon. Cool gasser!

I have a few Street Rodder mags documenting the buildup of this car. It was illustrated with a 57 corvette grill. Real gassers back in day were never this clean.

Amazing Paint! Looks like a Candy Butterscotch. One thing I wouldn't do is use A FRAM oil filter, I've heard they can ruin an Engine. I'd look up the reviews on TH-cam
