- A 1955 Chevrolet Gasser that a Friend of mine built....This car is all about the history of the Gasser style car in Drag Racing....if you were around back than..it will bring back memory's...if you weren't...see what you were missing...very cool car...check it out!!

seemingly inconspicuous but at heart such a powerful and strong beast and it's a pity that this kind of cars are not filmed in movies with races and drifts

Wow, so glad I also spotted this more in depth clip on this car. This thing is about perfect. I'm 110% into every part choice he mentioned here. Everything, is just,.....Right, on this combo/build. While I do personally tend to like the leafs under the frame rails front ends, I could see going this route based off the tuning he touched on. Bout the only other change I might make, would be a more old school rear tire, slightly taller, and possibly a big Olds rear end, but really this car nails it
Hey man I'm only 12 but ever since I knew wha a motor was te 55 has always been my car. The lifted front end is just amazing.
Had to favorite this video because this is about as close to my dream ride as I've ever seen on TH-cam or in a magazine. Can't imagine what I would have done differently other than letter the doors with something to personalize it. Thanks for posting this.
Sweet ride!!!! I was sitting at the stop light in Bowling Green a few weeks ago and swore I heard a Warren Johnson Pro Stock car and this thing pulled away from the light!! this car sounds incredible...had goosebumps after it passed...Congrats. sweet car.

Thats awesome example of a '55 gasser i would want. But! I would want a chrome tank in the front end and lifted up more and the headers sticking out behind the front wheels.

The 55 chevy used in two Lane Black Top was the same car that was used in American Graffiti. They also used this car in Smokey and The Bandit, It was used to record motor sounds that were dubbed in for the Trans Am.

i wanted to ad the way you did that front axle is really great. thanks for the info on the " Falfa " 2 Lane Blacktop Car. i owned two 55's, but that was way back in late 60's. sure want one now lol.

@kobra1029 the speedometer n all that stuff they used to call them dummy gushes because they don't maintain your car by simply reading them to see if everything is ok. And no your speedometer will not limit the car to 150 if that's what it maxes out at. The speedometer will just ping out at 150 and your car will keep increasing speed if its faster than stock and doesn't have a governor on it a cap on how fast your car is set. Some cars shutdown at 90-100

I'm not very intelligent when it comes to cars so excuse me if this is a stupid question, but is it really that quick of a car with a speedometer that only goes up to 110? Or is it strictly built to get to 110 in a quick amount of time?
110 on the speedometer has nothing to do with how fast the car can go
Beautiful. Is that a 210, a Bell Air, a 1##? Been looking for one of these but confused about the different body styles. I don't want one that's too long. This one looks just about right.

sounds pretty good, except 2 lane was a bbc. and the vent windows were still there. they just had the slide windows on main side windows in front. i like the style of gassers, but mine isn't no where near. its tubbed all steel. everything, 12 bolt gm rear. suicide doors. bbc blown pump gas motor. n driven

In Pennsylvania that would not be street legal. you need wipers and the tires cannot stick out past the fender lips. but still a cool car.
