What a superb night we had at STAFFORD 5th July 2024

- We (my mate Ben) had been waiting all week for all the freight services to get back to normal at Felixstowe before we did a night at Stafford, and with some extra services we were not disappointed with what we filmed.

Stafford is another one of those stations that is always busy with freight and passenger trains alike....and a great chippy nearby too. Super filming.

Spotting in the early 1970s overnight at Stafford was predominantly 40s on Freight and 25 on parcels and Newspaper vans. The railway was so different 55 years ago!

Excellent footage Mike. Nice mix of traction. Nice to see the DRS locos as we don't get them in my part of the world. The varamis parcel working was good and it all makes for the M6 become a little less conjested 🤔
Thanks Tony, you should be seeing some DRS locos over your way from September, and yes a bad move taking the post of the rails.

Nice busy compilation of footage from your evening at Stafford. There is usually something of interest to see and film. Let’s hope Varamis can make a go of their operations as rail should pay it’s part in the overnight parcels sector.

Arnold thanks for your thoughts on this video, its a disgrace how much money the Royal Mail waste these days, as they built that new place at Daventry for the 325s to operate into, and now scrap using them.

Its getting bad on a lot of mainline stations these days Paul, they think no one has eyes and brains. cheers Mike.
Aggregate wagons are graffiti magnets, but nobody touches a single box wagon. Must be a difference in the security of the depots in which they stable the trains.
