What’s the Jason Bourne movie about?
The Jason Bourne films are a series of American action, spy and thriller films based on the character of Jason Bourne, a CIA killer suffering from amnesia, created by writer Robert Ludlum.
It's been twenty years since Jason Bourne (Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting and The Martian) stepped away from the agency that turned him into a true human weapon. Hoping to bring him out of retirement, CIA director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones from the Men in Black saga) hires hacker and counterinsurgency expert Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander from Tomb Raider and The Danish Girl) to find him. Lee suspects that former agent Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles from 10 Things I Hate About You and Riviera) is also looking for him. As he tracks these two, Jason Bourne finds himself back in the thick of the action against a sinister network that uses terror and technology to keep himself in control.

She also always had a thing for Jason. I was hoping they'd maybe one day reconcile, but nope. Shot down in cold blood. Poor Niki.
Yes, I thought killing her off was a bad idea. She was a good contrast to Bourne, and yet developed and matured significantly over the films’ timespans. Her story had a lot to offer.
Broke my heart when she died
I know these types of films are Hollywood fluff, and they should not to be taken too seriously. However, I often wonder what the capabilities of governments really are. I've worked with commercial aerial and satellite imagery most of my adult life, and yes I know that national security and military imagery far exceeds these materials. I'm fine with that. The sheer amorality of the national security types so presented is disturbing, and if of even some of the amoral character types depicted in the Bourne series do exist then I wouldn't be too upset if some of their activities occasionally failed. Repeated extreme immorality should have consequences. I'm especially disturbed by the euphemisms. The Assest is in on line for example. The asset is just an officially designated a hit man who kills completely innocent people on command. He isn't an asset. Satellites are an asset. Guns are an asset. Euphemisms piss me off! And I'd feel better if he was callled what he is.
Governments have been using euphemisms for a long time.
The nazis called mass extermination by gassing „special treatment“, the Bush administration referred to torture by „enhanced interrogation“. What’s behind it is that even (or PARTICULARLY?) sociopathic assholes want to feel good about themselves - and obviously want to avoid the due consequences for their actions by sugarcoating and disguising them.

Love boune movies. This is one of the best scenes . Sad about Nicky being shot in this game, it is collateral damage.
Julia said she went into her scenes knowing that Nicky was going to die, so she made it clear that Nicky was sacrificing herself to give Jason the information she wanted him to have. Still hate it though. She and Jason had a tangled relationship that never got deeper into.
Also, I correct myself, an actor knows what they're scenes are about
"the asset" & the actor that tried but failed miserably to play the character were pathetic & total amateur hour.
Too many cuts, too many close up shots, too much camera shaking. Horrible to watch.

@@antmess9789the problem is not that they killed her. But everything leading up to that. During heavy protest the police decides to follow Bourne (why tho?) They ignore the CIA agents (why tho?) then the motorcycle is not fast in acclerating (why?) all protester leave the street during a fkin protest (why tho?) then there is only this one street (why?) and then he hits a shot without calibrating the weapon without knowing the distance and knowing thats them (why?). Thats just insanely bad writing

Pathetic movie. Greengrass and Damon really trying to squeeze out one more payday, like a "Rocky Eight" Sad. Maybe Jeremy Renner for the next one with Liman directing. Would have loved more love connection with Niki and Jason, good chemistry there!

Nah, true Bourne fans appreciate this film. It wasn't supposed to add to the story. It's supposed to feel like this film dangling out there and not really connected to the trilogy on purpose. It's more of an extra scenes movie than a story movie. The whole point is seeing Jason Bourne on the big screen again. Clearly you misunderstood the goal of the film, so the only one who disappointed you was you yourself.
not the best of sequels in this franchise, but helped provide closure for Damon's Jason Bourne. it's rumored he'll be approached for a 5th (6th?) Bourne movie with Damon in the lead again. so that will be interesting.

This scene doesn't make 100% sense ... Why is it that our man Bourne escapes the Asset, then hits the road for 4 mns at full speed on his motorbike and then is back at the same place, right in position for the same hitman to shoot at him...?

No sniper is that good. Anyway he would need to calibrate his sights and at least know in advance his target distance. So there is no way he just climbs on a roof and Bourne turns down many streets and and alleyways and returns in the direction of his enemy and comes back into sight of the sniper. Totally unrealistic even if it is just a movie. In reality the biker would be heading well away from his enemy and not back towards him regardless of the police roadblocks. And Jason Bourne always finds his target as he proved in all his Bourne movies, he even had Pam in his cross hairs when he spoke to her from a rooftop and had her in his sights through a sniper rifle. So why would he chase his target through the streets of Las Vegas wrecking the whole town when he could have just as well as hunted him down and eliminated him as he saw fit.
Also dude runs up like 5 stories and isn't even mildly breathing harder. It would take at least a minute or two to be calm enough to take an accurate shot.

You didn't even watch. Bourne is moving away from the shooter. Bourne has no choice but to go wherever the roadblocks take him unless he goes on foot. And you really don't understand the difference between Pam, who is untrained, and the enemy in Las Vegas who was trained. Are you stupid? Did you even watch any of the movies? Any fight against another assassin leads to massive collateral damage. Jason is only super skilled against idiots. Against other Assassin's, it's a tough fight. He still wins, but it takes a lot.

Weakest in the franchise. The trio logo (edit: trilogy, damn autocorrect) plus the Jeremy Renner offering are all at least B+ plus films. This film is C- at best.
