  • Today we will fly the Microsoft Flight Simulator Grumman Goose from Silva Bay up to Port Harvey. We will go through quick start up from cold and dark, take-off, climb settings, how to trim for straight and level flight, and how to land on the water. Let me know if you think it is worth flying in its current state.

This plane always puts me in mind of the Uncharted game, since Victor Sullivan flies this sort of bird.

Nice video. I was really looking forward for this one, and felt a little bit disappointed with the equipment it got, someone already did an autopilot mod that you can use via mobile companion or premium GTN 750.

I agree. That big gaping hole needs some avionics of some sort!

She looks more like a moose than a goose, but she's fun to fly. Found out the hard way she won't go under the golden gate bridge, though.

Thanks for the review, thumbs up given. Asobo's Goose seems to be lacking when compared to the Big Radials Goose. Maybe they'll update it in the fyewch!

Thanks for watching! 100% agree it is lacking. Still had fun but it would be nice to have some navigation, lights, and communication. Cheers!

I'll give it points for the textures, there's some top notch texture work on the Asobo Goose, i do find it's slightly prettier than the Big Radials.
Sadly that's the only point i can give it. In every other catagory, from sound, to features to the flightmodel and systems, the Big Radials wins it by a country mile. Flightmodel beeing the big one, because the Asobo Goose has all the typical Asobo taildragger problems, it'll take off from water alright, but put it on a runway and you're in for a white-knuckled fight for your life keeping the damned thing on the airfield, let alone on the runway, and forget everything about keeping it on the centerline..
If you want to fly a Goose, the Big Radials is still the way to go.

how on earth this plane came with out even the most BASIC equipment. I will never understand. "Oh instrument panel lights? who needs those? why are you flying at night?" - Asobo..
    Has anybody fixed that yet?

hey there. I enjoy your videos, thank you. I cant beleive microsoft actually claims this airplane as one of their own. can you tell us where to find these two scenery enhancements? they look to be well done.

Thanks! I updated the description with links to each port. There are other packs in the description of each to download as well but very easy to install.

Just one question. Is this the same Goose that was payware or is a new one?

      @sprocketsimulations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

This is the new one from the 40th Anniversary. The other payware version is much much Better!

Can you use the default MS radio stack with this?

This thing can't hold a candle to the Big Radials Goose, which so much more better.

Wasn't the Goose on an old Hawaiian or LA police tv show? 1960? Hawaiian Eye?

Haha no idea - a quick Google comes up with an old TV show called Tales of the Golden Monkey which I find hilarious!

@@sprocketsimulationsTales of the golden monkey. I loved that show. that girl was hot! the story lines were comical. but flying that goose was amazing... that front hatch was used every episode. watching the thrttle increasing, and the roar of those engines, made me want to learn how to fly. so, here I am, 72, with the best simulator on the planet, and a computer that almost gives it justice, and I am a happy camper. Oh yeah, in fs9 there was a freeware addon that included the cutters goose livery, and five or six islands that were able to give us different story lines. one was to find an enemy submarine. another was to find the actual golden monkey. great addon, I spent quite a bit of time with that. great fun.
