Dave Gregory is a legend, his work with Big Big Train is phenomenal, a lovely unassuming human being too who will chat happily with fans after a concert, best wishes to Dave ,thanks for the Music 🎶 ❤
I was front row for their show in Nashville, Tennesse on that tour and it was the closest I ever got to see XTC live. At one point, Dave snuck in a few seconds of a riff from an XTC song - I think it might have been the opening riff from "Senses Working Overtime" - and my friend I was with, who was also a massive XTC fan, gave a big shout. I had been a fan of Aimee's since the 'Til Tuesday era, and at one point during the show she asked for suggestions and I shouted out "I Know There's A Word" which was one of my favorite songs on the "Whatever" album. Aimee said they hadn't played it in a while and stood there and strummed for a few seconds, then looked around at Dave and the band and they launched into it and it was one of my all-time favorite live concert moments.
