I remember this interview and it is always interesting and seriously eye opening what he is stating. Joe Walsh stated similar stuff. It has also not affected music but also stores. Online shopping replacing being able to go to the store to find the older records and albums available has become much more a curse in the 21st century than a blessing. Joe Walsh has shared his thoughts on the state of music today, including his dislike of overly digitized music and his belief that mistakes can add character to a performance: Overly digitized music Walsh has said that he finds it hard to appreciate music that is overly digitized, and that he prefers the human element in music. Live performances Walsh has said that he finds it painful to watch live performances of some artists, such as the Black Eyed Peas, because of the use of electronic music and studio vocal enhancements. He also believes that these techniques make it impossible for anyone to play live anymore. Mistakes in performances Walsh has said that he believes mistakes can add character to a performance, and that he finds "perfect" performances to be lifeless. He cited the Johnny Cash/Willie Nelson performance on VH1 Storytellers as an example.

Interesting how he turns on the people who gave him his fortune - the fans. I have news for him. Music has always been pirated by being copied either by casette tape or other means. The music industry killed the goose by allowing the mp3 format to be the method of delivery which is much more easy to distribute en mass as a pirate. And older people stopped buying because the industry kept changing formats all the time - records, 8 track, cassette, CD. Mp3 the last straw. They are still making money just not as much. Dont let them fool you.
