    It works, Bill and that is the main thing. It was my first thought as well though I am not sure I would have got to a Darlington straight away. Perhaps if I'd thought longer but like you, I am only an amateur and mech eng was my discipline. Pehaps it should have had a steam engine!🙂

    Love the way you go about both explaining things as well as the breadboard experiments. Make a hole lot of sense to me and is really interesting to watch. Thanks for all the good content and hope you keep up posting. Best regards Magnus

    Bill, why did you put the 33K on the 2nd transistor? To me it seems that it should have gone on the 1st transistor then the 3.3K on the 2nd.

    since he's probably using an H bridge (so your circuit times 4), why not just use a MOSFET driver IC to decrease parts count?
