Hi, Maria! Great to see you posting more videos for the new cherry season. Looking forward to more helo adventures with you over the summer! Health, happiness and ripe cherries!
A short trip for fuel for you equals a great little video for us , sorry you had audio issues , the skid cam is great , many thanks from a uk viewer 👍🏻
Great video. It seems to me that you're a great multi-tasker. Conducting an employee orientation flight, narrating a video, flying a helicopter and navigating, all at the same time. Well done!
Well, to be honest, I only narrated the video at the beginning and end. Once I took off, I was pretty focused on the orientation stuff. Sometimes I simply forget the cameras are running -- and in difficult flying situations, that's a good thing. The video/cameras should never be more on my mind than the actual flying.
Thank you! Always enjoy your videos and the information you impart. .... This is by no means a criticism. When we watch sports, commentators feel they have to talk through the whole game/race... Sometimes it's great to just enjoy the view!
I think it is good to ask for comments, it is good to do surveys and I think it is good to ask people what it is they want and need from you. I think this will expand your numbers. I think you have a great attitude, love your vlogs and wish you all the best.
Really cool to see more "uncut" pilot videos like you do, showing all the different steps and your thought process. I am a student pilot learning going for my commercial license over in Olympia WA right now, and your videos have given me a lot of cool insights into what kinds of things should be on my mind while flying as well as good look into at least one job opportunity that could be available to me once I get my license. Thanks for putting these videos up!
Thanks very much. I'm trying to remember to narrate what I'm doing (when I can get the in-cockpit audio recording to work). Did you see the one where I start up and take off from a confined space? A lot of thought process narration there: th-cam.com/video/FEln0moJB6E/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, I watched that one as well! I've only flown the R22 beta 2, so it was cool to get to see the startup and takeoff of the R44 from that closed in landing area.
HEY MARIE How are you doing I've been Watching the channel Now for a year or more And just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate and enjoy What you're doing so Please keep up the awesome videos Take care be safe and will see you on the next video
Love your vids Maria. So many questions... What new bird are you looking for and what criteria help you choose? (Might make an interesting vid?). Can you aim the camera over your shoulder, to point down a bit more so we can watch your pedal action...
I'm an R44 pilot so that's what I'd replace Mr Bleu with. Same criteria. There are limits to how I can mount the cameras but I'll keep it in mind. On a regular flight, there's very little pedal work. But when I dry cherries, I'm dancing on the pedals and it might be interesting to see, especially when synced up with the view out the front.
Hey I watch you from England 🇬🇧 perhaps you could adjust the skids camera to face forward and down a little or even in reverse . What do you think. But anyway love the video's.
It'll be a little different every time I mount it. Can't point backwards because the leg is there. I like seeing the skid in the video because then you can see how close I come to the trees when I'm drying.
Please show a tutorial on your iPad/ForeFlight screen setup for Cherry Orchard block location system. With multiple pilots working, the coordination is vital to operation efficiency. New subscriber here. Binge watched yesterday. Loved your ferry flight down the Snake. My family moved to OR/WA in the early 1850s over the Oregon Trail from Iowa. They followed the Snake from eastern Idaho through the area of your flight. Interesting the see the many streams and ridges they had to traverse.
Maria. So glad to see a video from you. I’ve missed flying with you. Sorry to hear about “ Mr Blue” being gone. Hope it. Was a good deal for you. Does this bird have a/c ? It will be interesting to view the drying process from the skids. I have vivid memories of landscapes going bye rather quickly, while standing on the skids of a UH-1. Truly, a different perspective. Look forward to it. Be safe girl.
I sold Mr Bleu because I literally got an offer I couldn't refuse. It's in overhaul now and someone else is paying for it. The one I'm flying now does not have AC. When I dry cherries, I take the door at my seat off.
@@FlyingMAir you know Maria. I was in Redmond, about a month ago. My 98 yrs old Uncle lives there. I was unable to finagle enough time to drive over the hill to Wenatchee. But I am planning an RV run ,up through Oregon. So maybe you might get a charter or two. I think I’d enjoy flying with you. My last flight was 4 yrs ago. Harbor flight over Long Beach and San Pedro. Flew over the Iowa at 1500’
I've leased the aircraft for cherry drying work only. I only have it until August month-end. It's not on my Part 135 certificate so I can't use it for charter work.
"...less than a three-minute flight to get there." Just curious, but how long would it take to drive the same trip? It looks like the bridge is a couple miles up-river.
It's about a 30- to 40-minute drive, depending on traffic. 15-20 minutes to the bridge and then 15 to 20 minutes to the airport from there. That's why I don't park it at the airport during cherry season; too far to drive.
Curious, Why is there so much vibration on that helicopter? Seems very unstable, even when your up and flying it vibrates a lot. Thanks for the great videos :)
When does the season start where you're at for drying? My contract here in Pasco started May 20th. I've already flown 16.4hrs. Keep up the good work and sharing the videos.
If you do use the rear-facing GoPro mount on the instrument panel, you might be able to crop the feed in editing to highlight you when you have no left seat passenger. If you're targeting a 1080 finished product, then shoot in 2.7 or 4k for best quality and in order to take advantage of image stabilization. Always enjoy watching your flights.
Thanks! I actually considered this; I usually do crop the image of the camera facing me anyway. I might give it a try. I have four GoPros (two 7s and two 8s) and the more I run, the better the chances of getting something usable. 🤣
@@FlyingMAir You're doing a fine job, so just keep doing what you're doing and we'll all be happy! Landed my Bonanza at your home airport to visit the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth. Beautiful area!
Good morning, Maria! Thanks for the vid!
So much for the audio, but it was an excellant video anyway!
Good to see you again - skid cam gives a useful view.
What is cool any flight is flight and those who like your channel and enjoy seeing what you did.
Hi, Maria! Great to see you posting more videos for the new cherry season. Looking forward to more helo adventures with you over the summer! Health, happiness and ripe cherries!
OF COURSE you did ok! Love the rides.
Skid camera good for cherry drying monitoring!
Great having you back in action. Looking forward to the remaining Snake River runs.
I'm going to release them in bits and pieces over the next month or so. Not sure if it'll be three or four parts. It was a long flight.

Great video!!! I love the skid cam!!! Thank you so much!!!
Morning Maria, hope its a good season for you this year..
I hope so too!
Going back to your mountain home
Hi from Australia, I love your videos. well done!
Really enjoy your videos and narration.

Nice camera setup. Don't forget to check the ''blinker fluid" occasionally.
Another good flight , love watching your videos
Perfect narration love your vids
OK. The skid cam is good. Hopefully you can find new a helicopter with a/c. I suppose you aren't looking for a R44 with the digital cockpit.

Very cool! First time here. You have good skills.
Have a nice day.
Thank you! Cheers!
great twin-cam setup. love your videos.
Thanks!
I like the format, SO what does fly over the cherries, do dry the water so they don't spot? thank you, ALL stay safe
There's a whole playlist to explain that: th-cam.com/play/PLbt7hzE-vxhnnSUouyVquxeOt6BsHhyXA.html

Hello Maria! I’ve been watching for a while and recently finished my commercial training. Any recommendations for entry level positions?
Flight instructor. That's the usual career path. Even entry level employers seem to want CFIs. Good luck!
I enjoy these videos thanks
Nice video I hope this channel can be bigger someday
Tell your friends!😉
How about flying up to Lake Wenatchee and over Sugarloaf, Alpine, and Tyee fire lookouts? It would be fun to fly Nick Zenter around again.
I was thinking about Lake Wenatchee. I'm probably going to go to Stehekin in July.
You make it look so easy :)
When you do it long enough, it is. Like driving a car for me.🤷🏻♀️

Maria. Just bought some hats at your store. Thank you
Awesome! Thank you!
do you have to do the split needles test on the dash board every time you do a start up ?
Yes. It's part of the startup process.
I hope I'm being nosy by asking you a question but roughly how much does it cost to fill up the helicopter for a couple of drying days
Fuel is $7.13/gallon here and I burn roughly 15 gallons per hour. That means a 3-hour fillup would cost about $320.
No sightseeing flights this year, correct? Is that due to the terms of the lease on the current aircraft?

Thanks. We spend a week in Chelan each year, so maybe next year.

I find all your videos interesting and informative. Good luck with our business and stay safe. P.S. Did you finally get rid of the ugly shoes??…LOL
Yeah, I wore them out. I have other ugly shoes now.
Curious, Why is there so much vibration on that helicopter? Seems very unstable, even when your up and flying it vibrates a lot. Thanks for the great videos :)
They're all pretty much like this. 🤷🏻♀️
👍👍👍
4000 hrs ain't bad. I would think that would be enough to open other opportunities for you if you wanted.
Oh, it would open a lot of doors. But I'm pretty used to running my own show. It would be hard to work for someone else.
I like helcopter
Nice video but the audio is a bit low and a bit difficult to understand in some parts. Just FYI.
Maybe near the end? The rest is narrated and should be plenty loud.
Can you please show us how cherries are dried!? We eat them our whole lives not knowing they get dried by helicopters!
