I made macrame plant hangers too! Mine just accomodated regular pots though. I made Santa wall hangers for EVERYONE in the family in the early 70's too! Great memories!
I've have worked for Goodwill for years. The slow time for donations are usually from mid January to about the beginning of April. Most people brought their donations at the end of the year for tax deductions. Don't dispair, they usually pick up with Spring cleaning and when Garage sales start. I have faith that donations will pickup again so you can "Get Shop Done"!
I’m from Munising, Michigan. So glad you grabbed the Munising bowl. Very popular wood company, no longer in business. Made lots of wood items. Rolling pins and bowls probably best known.
Hi Danni, It has taken me months to unwrap, list in book, wash, take photos, rewrap and put away. Then I realized I'd forgotten to weigh and measure the things, so out it all came again, but this time when I put it away, I did plates and vases in one container, mugs and wine glasses in one and holiday is in two, plus the creamers and knick knacks are in another one. So, after many many many hours, it is all organized. Now, to get brave enough to start listing again!!!
You can do it! you have half it done already! You need to get paid for all that hard work you did. Now go get listing again. Come to Monday's Live Chats Danni will encourage you too !! She did to me 😁🤗
Hey Dani, you seemed to have enjoyed this shopping trip so much more than when you go to Goodwill. And the prices were well in line with what a thrift store should be. Well, if it doesn’t bring you joy to shop there then..... just saying ☺️ Maybe just on Wednesday’s, for 40% off days, those are super fun with Kari 😆😆😆
You need to be careful about using any hairdryer pre mid to late 1970s. Most contain asbestos in the material under the heating coils and asbestos fibers can be released when the coils heat up. There was a massive nationwide recall of hair dryers and blow dryers in the 1970s due to the danger.
You answered the question that was on my mind. I wondered if Danni was going to have difficulty selling it. I never thought that people still use them. :)
Now Noah, the dog hair comment. I have friend who has no pets and her little daughter came up to me and said, “You must have a LOT of hair in your house!” (Obviously echoing a comment she had heard) I said, “You know honey I think of it like this, would you rather have no hair or my puppy?” She said enthusiastically, “YOUR PUPPY!”
Hi Danni! I have 5 Goodwill's near me here in CT (including a GW bins outlet) and they're all packed! I went to all of them in the past 3 days. I found some great things and today i made my first eBay sale thanks to watching you and joining your FB group!!
Howdy! The small corn dish is for melted butter. It has a small bristle brush w/ corn handle and set on a small wire candle holder. I have one I thrifted several years ago. 🙂
Who would say you weren’t into resale. That’s what you do! Can’t imagine watching you and not getting that. The weather here in Oklahoma is overcast. Storms and even tornado warnings. My joints are killing me, but watching you makes my day a lot better. My kind of entertainment. I have learned the value on the antique and vintage glass that I love so much.
I hate when the temperature changes or active weather comes as I too feel it in my bones too so heres some Get Well soon and stay safe. Yes I agree Danni sure makes your day better!
I am in the same boat here in MO. I am almost 2 months late on my knee shots. Dr is only in the office I use on Thursdays and every time I had an appointment, we have had a snowstorm! They just opened up an after hours office and I am headed there Sat. Celebrating after with a stop by Savers lol. Itching to get out there and get shop done!
My first hair dryer had a red alligator case; imagine my dismay when I realized it was still faster to lay on the floor over the hot air register to dry my hair! If Noah can cook, baking browniues will be EASY! Really enjoyed that thrift shop!
That's cool that you found a jewelry box from Ghana. I came back with one when I was 17. I went with a group on a mission trip. I just sick when I got home and a friend's sister stole it with some jewelry I had in it. If you still had that box I would sure be interested in it. It looked very nice.
Noah...I love your funny comments and everyone...do you always find the boring items only you would want like another pill organizer to have 4 weeks down ant ohh that furnace filter...LOL. I just loved your Nativity find Danni..it was beautiful.
The glass dish next to corn 🌽 thing u liked is for butter. I think we should have a pumpkin tally. Is their a picture of all your pumpkins. Loved the one with the plant!
I don't give comments often, but you deserve this. You are such an intelligent, friendly, happy woman, I feel like I am visiting my neighbor! Plus you pick up what I would, so we must be junkie soul sisters! I heard you had received some negative press, so I thought I would do what I could to put up some good stuff! Don;t let the negative crap, yes crap, bother you. Just flush it down where it belongs. Hang in there, for all of us that enjoy watching and learning from you!
Glad to see you still doing good at finding great deals ! I am 66 now. When I was 19 I went thru Vegas on a bus. It was small town then. Sure has changed ! Lol 🤗👍🏻😘
I find Sally Ann's here have hit the ebay pricing here. They put tons of stuff behind the counter and make a special corner area near the cash as a high priced stuff area too. I find the Mission Thrift Stores are better then SA for the colors discount. Glad it's good for you!
I was told that stock picks up in the thrift stores around mid-Spring through the Summer. A lot of people are moving during that time, cleaning garages, etc.
If you or your granddaughter have TikTok you should look at Danni's as that's where she posts most of her menagerie on there 😁 www.tiktok.com/@thedanniack
Hi Danni, Here in Colorado our Goodwills are stocked full. Ive never been to Salvation Army. Ill have to stop by the one near my house. Love your videos😊
I found some bed risers and used them to lift my dog's four leg hammock bed, now he can see easily out my front window as he lays in his bed. He loves his "post" as he's the 20 lb guard dog 😁
My family had that hairdryer. My mom, sister and I all used it. I had waist length hair. I remember wearing the plastic bonnet that came with it and sitting on my bed drying my hair for hours while doing homework or reading. I also used to take the bonnet off and just use the hose, that was like a low power blow dryer. One thing to be careful of with all older hairdryers and other appliances that get warm or hot is asbestos. Up into the 1970s asbestos was used in many hairdryers, toasters, electric coffee pots, etc. The metal coils that heat up inside the appliances are frequently wrapped around various asbestos covered materials. In the 1970s there was a big nationwide recall on hairdryers. You turned yours in for replacement, if you didn't do that you were urged to throw your hairdryers away. The public was also informed how to clean the bathrooms in which people dried their hair. My family thew out all of our dryers but my parents opted not to clean the bathrooms or other rooms we'd dried our hair in. Mom also had to stop using the still functioning beautiful toaster she'd received in the 50s as a wedding gift. Because we found out that model contained asbestos and released fibers onto the bread and into the air when in use..Mom still has the toaster, and it works wonderfully well,, but she can't use it. I tested it outside on the porch to see it work once more. Mom also can't use her beautiful ceramic dogwood pattern electric coffee pot and some other beautiful still functional old items because research indicates they release asbestos fibers when in use. I think it's amazing how few people remember that big recall in the 70s and how few people are aware of how many items contained asbestos in the past, items that are still dangerous to use. Being a hairdresser is never mentioned as one of the occupations in those public service type announcements for lung diseases resulting from workplace asbestos exposure, but it should be. Anyway, be careful people.
Hi Danni the FAO BABY pink pig at 35:18 is probably from FAO Schwarz…a high end & large toy store in NYC. It’s the store where Tom Hanks & Robert Loggia dance on the floor pad piano…iconic scene in the movie “Big.”
Looks like we need to take a closer look atCastaways!? They seemed to be well stocked and the prices also seem reasonable. BTW, haters are gonna hate, but there are more of us than there are of them! You be you! Buttons in N.Carolina. 🙏🏼☮️🇺🇸
I watched tonight’s video with my five-year-old who was much more interested and opinionated than I was expecting. He wants you to know he loves the turkey and you should buy more toys. 🤣
Great finds today!!! 👏 Noah's comments are welcomed and so funny 😄 ❤ Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and your findings and investing into the slow donations. Mostly Thanks for the words of encouragement to us all❤👍
For a good while there, Goodwill & Salvation Army were not doing the big truck pick-ups. They still may not be doing pick-ups to date. Maybe that's catching up with them now. Enjoyed the video. Thumbs up! 😊
The cute plush Pig is from the F A O Schwartz Toy store. The Toy store was originally on 5th Avenue in Manhattan and has relocated to Rockefeller Center. In Business for more than 150 years it is the most iconic toy store in the world. Duncan's Toy Chest in the Home Alone movie was actually FAO Schwartz. The piano scene in the movie "Big" was filmed there and visitors to the store could jump on that Piano mat if they wanted to. Several other movies were filmed there including the Smurfs. The store is so unusual you can actually purchase tickets to visit it while in New York City, because sometimes the store reaches capacity.
I think people are waiting for good weather and instead going to have yards sales to make a little money. LoL Noah for the count down Great Finds.. That dish was for butter.
Love your videos my friend!! You found a lot of great things!! I wish we had cool thrift stores in California! You have good ones in Vegas!! God bless you and your family!! Much love!! 💙💙🥰🥰💖💖🌺🌺❤️❤️🌹🌹😻😻🦋🦋🙏🙏🙏🐢🐢🐢🦜🦜🦜🦜
Hello Dani and Noah. Happy day, happy shopping. We had a beautiful day in Northern Michigan today, I was so excited and ready for this. I'm aware that we will probably get more cold weather before it really starts to warm, but it was beautiful today
Good morning from Florida, glad you stopped off at Salvation Army. I get better bargains there than Goodwill. Monday, 50% off seniors, bric- a- brac, half off on Wednesday, Thursday 50% off on clothes. I'm sure they have the same sales there too. Love your videos, Joyce
Retired Postal Clerk here....I saw the BMC (big metal container) container you were dumping in and thought "What the heck is she doing at a postal site?"...lol Keep up the great thrifting that you do.
That Hallmark snowman candy jar at 21:54 is supposed to play a tune when you pick ip the lid. It does have an on & off switch if you can feel it under the gel. If it doesn’t play & it’s turned on it may just need a new battery like mine does. It’s super cute when the music plays!
Shame those libbys don't sell well. New in Box I'd grab them. But you're right they are a hard sell. But those boxed ones I'd keep for display in my 1950s home. They are lovely
I can give a little insight but probably only applies to my area in Michigan. I work at a small local thrift store, not a big name, and our donations are down at the moment but I am attributing it to to rather harsh winter we've had and I don't think people have gotten into their "spring cleaning " yet. Our donations usually dwindle after Christmas until late March but they do seem a bit lower this year most likely because of the colder weather.
You look so pretty in this picture!!! I've been a thrifter for many years, and pretty much buy 90% of my stuff from thrifts yard sales...the more junky the place the better!!!
i remember when my mom got one of these. There was my mom and three girls in our household and so this was our "hair dryer" before they had the kind they do today. Now that's a memory!!
We live in a collage town. My mother in law manages apartments for years! When it was move out month the dumpsters were full! Of brand new things or very good things that could have been donated. People just are not donating like they use to. Or maybe it’s just these collage kids. Lol
you have much more on these shelves than I have seen where I live. Goodwill and Salvation Army shelves in my area are almost bare for hard goods. They still have a glut of clothes.
I have some marachas hanging on my living room wall they were a gift from a co worker who went to the bahamas . they are fun .those blinking ornaments are stinking cute indeed and that price is a steal indeed .is that pig not an FAO shwartz toy ? You can only get those in ny at the fao shwartz store so if that is it , that is a good deal and a great find . Oh my goodness how stinking cute a twirking turkey I have seen it all now .
I just love your helpful ways! I have an antique booth (Misty shops it), and your encouragement and information is so valuable to me! You are part of my little reselling world. Thank you!
That is awesome that you can bypass the P.O. Less hands tossing them around. I felt you were awful quick with your cam; I felt dizzy..LOL Thanks for the candle torture..LOL Loved how the pig had its hove on the metal dog!! LOL What does Castaways support, you didn't mention the cause.
I make macrame plant hanger and sometimes use lid-less teapots as planters. It's a really cute look.
I love that idea
Love this idea.
I made macrame plant hangers too! Mine just accomodated regular pots though. I made Santa wall hangers for EVERYONE in the family in the early 70's too! Great memories!
Yes. Jaguar hood ornament on marble! As close to the car as I would ever get!!
I never would have thought of that. What a great idea!
Nice of you to explain the workings of Goodwill. Very kind , Thank you from Australia.
Noah, some of us cook and some of us bake but not a lot of us do both. Love kitcheny bits , lol.
I’m from Munising, Michigan. So glad you grabbed the Munising bowl. Very popular wood company, no longer in business. Made lots of wood items. Rolling pins and bowls probably best known.
Love your videos. Noah's comments and spirit getting shop done with you makes my heart happy.
Enjoyed the video and thankyou Noah for the comments,we look forward to seeing them.Dani you did great in finding things👍❤️🙏🇨🇦🥰

Hi Danni I have one of those hair dryers.I got it years ago at a garage sale.Still works and I love it.🤗
I like the elephant box
My mom had one of those for years! 😊

OMG Danni I use to have that same hair dryer when I was16!!! I am 68 now.... Brings me back lol 😆 🤣
My parents had those Libby glasses in the 60's. I would love to have them back
Love the Castaways something new and refreshing for a change!
Now Noah, the dog hair comment. Love the Nativity Set!
I have that hair dryer. I bought it in the early 70s at a catalog store for $13. Still works!
Hi Danni! I have 5 Goodwill's near me here in CT (including a GW bins outlet) and they're all packed! I went to all of them in the past 3 days. I found some great things and today i made my first eBay sale thanks to watching you and joining your FB group!!

That creeped me out! It looked like a scary smile with 3 rows of teeth! Lol
Maracas you should get a lite one my yellow naped Amazon parrot will shake it while I sing... its so cute good Idea for Bougie.
I love that hair drier! We use those to dry our boots up here in snow country! Thank you and your family for your hard word. Love your videos. Marie

Around Halloween time I shot some video!
I love how Noah expresses himself on your Videos.Go Noah
Hi Danni ! Hi Noah! Great that spring is here! Looking forward to getting shop done! 🤗
I think my sister's hair dryer was yellow flowers. @ 8.22 I was so envious of that dryer I bought one in the early 70's at a yard sale.
Cant believe someone thinks yur not a resaler lol yur the hardest worker on you tube!!! Im a new fan 💕
Welcome to the Niche Nation Family! and I agree she does work hard! 😁
At 10:57 on bottom shelf are some magnalite Wagner ware pot lids. Check out the resale prices for just the lids. I think you would be surprised.
Fun finds, Danni. Great to be supporting the independents!💜
I don't give comments often, but you deserve this. You are such an intelligent, friendly, happy woman, I feel like I am visiting my neighbor! I believe the small crystal dish is for butter and/or marmalade. Nice to see other thrift stores on occasion.
Absolutely LOVE that you took us to some new places. And you got some really great items. 💖🍷
Noah would be great at writing up your Ebay stuff. I can see him add some creative cute comments about the items too. I love his personality.
Glad to see you still doing good at finding great deals ! I am 66 now. When I was 19 I went thru Vegas on a bus. It was small town then. Sure has changed ! Lol 🤗👍🏻😘
Danni I love your confidence and how you don't let those naysayers get to you. Noah you are a gem. Nice family 💖 This was a great shopping video!
Thank you so much!!
Even without full shelves you still found some great things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Salvation Army myself.
My store always has three colors discounted
That hair dryer and case is very cool
I find Sally Ann's here have hit the ebay pricing here. They put tons of stuff behind the counter and make a special corner area near the cash as a high priced stuff area too. I find the Mission Thrift Stores are better then SA for the colors discount. Glad it's good for you!
I was told that stock picks up in the thrift stores around mid-Spring through the Summer. A lot of people are moving during that time, cleaning garages, etc.
I love hearing about your menagerie. I’ve been telling my granddaughter how your tortoises hibernate for the winter. She is fascinated.
If you or your granddaughter have TikTok you should look at Danni's as that's where she posts most of her menagerie on there 😁 www.tiktok.com/@thedanniack
I don't burn candles I just open the tops and let them sit there.
The good ones last forever and smell wonderful too without the burn!
Hi Danni, Here in Colorado our Goodwills are stocked full. Ive never been to Salvation Army. Ill have to stop by the one near my house. Love your videos😊
Good stuff. I'm going to go to the small charities stores and see what they have.
I found some bed risers and used them to lift my dog's four leg hammock bed, now he can see easily out my front window as he lays in his bed. He loves his "post" as he's the 20 lb guard dog 😁
I would totally buy the black spikey pumpkin!
Good evening I just love watching ur videos I try not to miss them and if I do I look for them
You know something Danni, that Noah kid is pretty sweet! Actually, all your kids seem to be, that's a reflection of good parenting. 👍
My family had that hairdryer. My mom, sister and I all used it. I had waist length hair. I remember wearing the plastic bonnet that came with it and sitting on my bed drying my hair for hours while doing homework or reading. I got my Mikasa Park Lane glasses today from the Thrift Junkies sale. love them! Great packing MS Kari!!!
A totally brilliant shopping trip, love the 60’s hairdryer, the baubles and the twerking turkey 🦃😂 thank you x
Noah, make all your chocolate cake and brownies from the back of the can of Hershey's baking chocolate found in the baking aisle. Can't go wrong😄
Is it hard chocolate or cocoa you bake with? Just curious as I like the tip. But have to buy Hershey on line as I can’t find it where I live. Thanks!
@@patriciarobinson5909 it's the powder chocolate in a can that you bake with. Unsweetened baking chocolate ☺️ the cake recipe is the best!
Great finds Danni! Glad to see you visiting the independent Thrift Stores. 👍🏼😁
Great finds. I wish we had a castaways near me lol never heard of them
I love to watch your videos and all you know about reselling. Don't let the haters bring you down! Your doing great! Hi Noah
I watched tonight’s video with my five-year-old who was much more interested and opinionated than I was expecting. He wants you to know he loves the turkey and you should buy more toys. 🤣

This comment was great!! 💜
Great finds today!!! 👏 Noah's comments are welcomed and so funny 😄 ❤ Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and your findings and investing into the slow donations. Mostly Thanks for the words of encouragement to us all❤👍

My sister got one of those hair dryers for graduation one year! She let me use it a couple of times!
I used to have a little hair dryer like that
Noah, your comments crack me up! You were raised right! ;-)
Love your pop ups Noah!!

Hello Dani and Noah. Happy day, happy shopping. We had a beautiful day in Northern Michigan today, I was so excited and ready for this. I'm aware that we will probably get more cold weather before it really starts to warm, but it was beautiful today
Yes we finally had some Spring like weather here today..yay!
Here too in Ontario Canada, it almost got too warm in my bedroom today 😁🤗
Great video, love those ornaments from Castaways.🌹❤️🥰
love the elephant box
Hmmm I think Trendalyn loves Elephants A LOT 😁🤔😻🤗
the hair dryer is so funky! My dog sheds so bad too.Always love the Noah comments!

Here in South Fl. The outdoor donation area is always over flowing but when you go in side the shelves are sparse
That cute dish for jams.
Wow I would have picked everything you did! You did well!❤
You found some interesting and different treasures this trip!
I have that dryer and still use it especially when I do hair treatments
That Hallmark snowman candy jar at 21:54 is supposed to play a tune when you pick ip the lid. It does have an on & off switch if you can feel it under the gel. If it doesn’t play & it’s turned on it may just need a new battery like mine does. It’s super cute when the music plays!

I have had my dryer for years too. I bought it new.
Danni that tiny dish at the second store is an individual butter dish! Princess house! You should have picked it up! Nice haul today!
Any time there is a crack in an item Danni leaves it because it becomes too risky to ship it. Otherwise she would of picked it up for sure.😁
@@melissalynncolbert-amyotte4678 I didn’t see a crack🤔

Those wood pics are nice!
That domed glass dish is for butter. Personal balls next to your place setting.

i remember when my mom got one of these.
I love watching you. Thank you for sharing
