Just saw saw them on their farewell tour in 2024. What a talented band. “Lean Into It” was such a superb album. Their follow up “Bump Ahead” is a great album too. But when that album came out - Grunge was in full swing. “Wild World” was technically the only hit off that album- then MTV and radio didn’t play the rest of the album. Great music is great music- I hate when the music business goes with “the flavor of the month” -and everyone else gets pushed out. But I guess it’s always been that way.
Couldn’t agree more, bud. The industry in the 90s flooded the market with mediocre music so that it became the standard. Consequently, the public’s appreciation for innovation and virtuosity was supplanted by “moans and groans in monotones” (my personal definition of Grunge).
Criminally underrated this band.

Not really, if they came out back then, they would be fighting for airtime with Aerosmith. Just sayin' I LOVE Mr. Big, but, I think they came out right when we needed them

I think they would’ve been good enough to beat Aerosmith in the charts because they simple are more talented and made better music in this album than Aerosmith did in the 80’s. I think you’d be right if we were talking about Aerosmith in the 70’s

That's a huge stretch of the imagination. Beatles, the Doors, The Rolling stones, AC/DC, Boston, Def Leppard, CSNY, Cream. I don't think this band comes anywhere close to being the "best".

This band is just so talented there is o weak point. Eric's vocal is so amazing and Paul's absolutely phenomenal guitar work is unbelievable great. Billy's bass work is legendary and Pat's drumming is killer. They all canning as well. One of the greatest rock bands of all time in my opinion! Love this song.

Quite possibly the best American band!
They are the one of the only 2 bands I am listening just to enjoy their musicianship. The quality of the songwriting is secondary here, it's just a pure pleasure to enjoy how well ppl can play. The only other band like that for me is a post Ritchie Blackmore's departure Deep Purple

Fun/Useless facts: Much (if not all) this footage was taken at Irvine Meadows on June 3 and/or 4 1992, as Mr. Big opening for Rush on their Roll the Bones tour. At :25 and again at 2:56 there's footage from the KNAC pre-show backstage listener party with "Nasty" Neil Katara hosting on-air. KNAC Promotions lord Tom Maher also briefly visible. Lean Into It had just been released the year prior. Killer tour. Damn good days.
