14:28 Random 2wd Deutz Fahr from early 90's on the side,beautiful.
Deutz-Allis. Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz bought Allis-Chalmers' dealer network and Gleaner combine division(with plant) in 1985 and to quote a dealer, they were basically told "it will be green, it will be air cooled, and you will sell them" and that went about as well as it did. 10 years of poor sales and one fallen wall later, KHD was going to discontinue Deutz-Allis until the upper management of Deutz-Allis bought Deutz-Allis(the dealer network, the Independence plant, and Gleaner) from KHD and made Allis-Gleaner Company. AGCO.

So the 1167 is pretty much identical to the John Deere 9620rx in pulling power but when you go into manual mode on the fendt that's probably when the 1167 will start to out pull the John Deere 9620rx.
only thing the fendt will fo to a deere is chase it thru the field

@@vcxmp2k124 don't know about that as the fendt has a CVT and the John Deere has the slowest transmission in history.
@@elizabethliska5377 well the fendt starts from around 650,000 USD for the 1167 and the John Deere 9640rx starts from around 800,000 USD, not sure what the 9620rx cost was when new.
Fendt seem to have way more bottom to mid range torque as well as a wide range of power imo just from visual experience I've never seen one irl sooo. Not a fan of Fendt as much as I am Case and Deere buuuttthose Fendts do look good

@@m-videos3643 I do not. I never really looked into the Deutz-Allis era as it is considered the "dark era" of the Allis-Chalmers-Deutz-Agco history timeline. Very little development was done, sales were poorer than anyone else and it took alot of work(from agco) to get their reputation back.
Long story short, In 1985 Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz bought Allis-Chalmers' dealer network and Gleaner combine division, told the dealers they will sell the same air cooled Deutz tractors as they had elsewhere and will sell air cooled Gleaners. That went over very poorly, and then the wall came down and KHD was thinking about just discontinuing North America operations and then the upper management team convinced them to sell to them and Allis-Gleaner Company was born. AGCO, with the old D-A headquarters in Georgia and the Gleaner combine plant.
@@J-1410 Thank you Sir, very interesting history to me 👍Looking back in the history of farm machinery, some brands just made their way in North America, others did not. Very few survived. I wonder if the Gleaner combines do play a major role in todays Ag industry in North America?! I think you just can't beat Deere and Case in North America.
@@m-videos3643 AGCO basically ignores Gleaner anymore and puts very little into R&D, even though Gleaner is the only combine they make here anymore.
Gleaner fell completely during the Deutz era and when AGCO took over they were gaining market share again, until AGCO started pushing Massey around 2008 or so. They were the combine to have in the 1970s and early 1980s. They're still popular with custom harvesters as you can legally haul two on one trailer and not need pilots or special permits or have to take the tires off.
If AGCO would push them and if they would quit loosing dealers in their already small(compared to others) dealer network, Gleaner could compete.

Also, I was trying to see if he checked the front brakes as well, but it looks like it just has rear brakes? I get that you don't want the cart doing funky stuff, but they could even balance it to a rear bias brakes that are larger, with assisting from brakes.

That is crazy that he was driving a semi and can’t back up. I drove for a few years and had to back up 5 miles when I was doing asphalt

Heh, need to try the hills out here. Have one you cant pull empty. Other one makes the 620 quad get to about 12% slip with 25-50% fill
I have one hill that I climb in transport and I can reach up to 20+% slip. I'm down to 3 or 4 mph. And it has a couple of switchbacks! I'm never worried about not making it when the road is dry. I'd never attempt it when it's raining or if the road was wet!
I tried using that drill and cart with a versatile 620 on Farming simulator 22 and I couldnt MOVE AT ALL AROUND THE WORLD IT WAS SO BIG I HAD TO KEEP MAKING 10 POINT TURNS LOLOLOL
Did you say this was a 90 mile trip? I can't imagine driving a farm tractor that far.
These modern tractors are really really comfortable, I can sit in one for like 15hours straight😂
(Sure driving so long distances so slow will probably still get boring.)

I’m VERY surprised as big as those carts are, that they don’t have drum brakes as standard.
Disk brakes are better trucking industry going to all disk brakes much better braking
Hey Mike. Would it not help turning the tyres around the other way that way it won't cause as much drag and would be easier to pull with these machines being so heavy.
What about adding water sprays for the breaks like some log trucks use on steep hills.Like the videos.Like chapels big fendt.

He does have manual mode as an option but the tractors computers may get a bit over exited and start spinning the tracks at like 50% slippage like on tractor breaker.

Maybe have a pilot at the top of the hill and they can watch your $5000.00 tires at the bridge... Can your rig travel in creeper at the bridge if you contact!!

Dumb question mike, but does it make any difference when you pull in the grass? I would think those tracks would latch on with minimal slip?

I'm sure you've answered this question before but wouldn't it be better to truck the equipment long distance? I also wondered if you talc the tracks on long road trips?
No! You have to move both the tractors and drills anyway so why would you spend the time to unhook all the cables, wires and hoses to move them. Then you would have to rehook everything when you got to the new field. You would have to have 2 trucks for each setup! That would be very expensive and the drills would have to be totally empty to move with a truck so you would have to hassle with that too. So the short answer is nooooo!!
@@kevinmeyer3884 Plus, trucking them requires permits. Another added expense. And routes would be different/longer.

Weight of cart and angle of hill determines what % the surge brake comes on. Don't believe is has anything to do with tractor speed, or foot brake application. They can cook the grease at any speed. Can you tell I'm not a fan?
670 engine HP minus 50 lost in the CVT leaves 620 for pulling which is what they advertise I believe.
No. The 1167 puts the same hp to the transmission as the 1162 does and use the extra 53 hp for hydraulics and PTO.

The road dust is what lubes them. That’s why it’s ideal to avoid pavement with tracks.

When I came over from England I was surprised by how many hills there were. Yes much of the land is flat but still some hills.

It seems that this alternative route is going to kill the brakes of the tractors. I guess you will not choose it again.
A tractor set from factory with 600horse power is it possible to tune it to 700-800 hp. Please answer.
That engine is capable of going up to 790hp but I don't know if the transmission is capable of that and the max weight that tractor can handle is probably around 65,000lbs which isn't enough weight for that amount of power.
MAN do have a 24.2 litre engine which is capable of going up to 1110hp and 5000nm of torque which is more than the big bud 747.
This 16.2 Litre MAN 6 in-line D4276 engine has a range of 612hp - 700hp, it's the exact same engine as the FENDT IDEAL 10 uses but than it has 790hp powered by other turbo's.

It's not only about the power. Traction are the most important a tractor need. You can ahve a 3000hp tractor if that ever existed. But with no traction, you'll be going nowhere.

Mike could you tell me why you move your carts full? Surely safer to have emptied them into ma wagon, less weight on the tires, wheel bearings, cart brakes and tractor.
Basically they have them partly filled so that it works out to being less trucks of seed that have to come and fill them from what I’ve heard in past videos. The more you can bring the better ideally however there is a limit since it’s so heavy.

@@rogerquenault7207 yeah, I also think it’s to do with what they had left on their drills most likely once they finished the last field. Every farm is different and myself as another farmer and a viewer we can never be sure on what he has for trucks available and all that jazz

I think they sold it for some new sprayers and at the same time they needed to sell the 1050 as it wasn't powerful enough to pull they're drills and the best deal they got for it was trading it in for a fendt 1167 which by the looks and sounds of things has more power than the 1050 and is comparable with the John Deere.

@@fl0G2 it wasn't pulling any worse than the John Deere's on those hills and even if he needed more power he could just put it into manual mode and gain an extra mile an hour or so. Mike may need to add a little more weight to the fendt though so instead of 62,000 lbs take it to 65,000lbs so then it may have the traction to get up that hill they call tractor breaker.
@@fl0G2 the fendt 1050 on the other hand didn't do quite as well as the other tractors in previous years.

Brother Mike please let me say something to help you in multiple ways. I think it’s time to get a GoPro and headband for the camera you use so you can have both hands and still make excellent (maybe better) videos! You can also use the SD feature so you could mail it to the place the internet works well and transfer it electronically to an editor if you ever decide to have one. Either way you would be much much safer and more capable doing things with 2 hands again. 🥲 I just care about you and you need help with making videos and being safe. It’s not about criticizing you I just believe if you change the one thing you would have such a better day and you can use magnetic mount gimbal holder’s for whatever you want to be in the shot. Please please try changing your camera so you can use special mounts to free your hands how many years do you want to hold your arm out all day Brother!? ❤️❤️❤️😌✌🏼🇺🇸
He did say something about it before(years ago I think), but he would have to be tethered to a charger and a PC as 4k eats up SD card room fast and battery fast, not to mention gopros "aren't made for constant recording" and still have overheating issues especially at 4k.

@@erickamekonapeper4007 and they have mentioned in quite a few videos of the trouble they have with them. They even switched away to someone else for a while until the picture quality wasn't as good.
That stick they have them on? its a battery and SD card bank. Also notice that none of their clips, minus time lapses, are much over a few minutes, where Mike's can be 5-10 minutes long.
Mike also edits on his phone, from what I recall.

I was quite surprised when i saw that the brake rotor on the cart is that small compared to the size and weigh of the whole setup and it doesnt have any holes in the rotor for better cooling

Anything would work if you have the money, but agriculture tires in general are about impossible to get right now, regardless of brand.
Last I checked, LSW's are more too.
