so about the toxic friendship part, i have a huge story to tell. I came as a freshie in university and made friends. Two of my male friends “X”, “Y”, and another friend of my sister’s also became my friend “Z”.so things were good in my first semester but then things escalated rapidly and changed when my second semester started. I couldn’t attend my classes which is why I had to take a semester break. During this time I saw my friends dissing me out on it. I fought with one of my friends “X” more like confronted him for his actions that he got physical with me and then friend-zoned me. I was moving on so i went for a break from social media. Fr this same guy ghosted me for 4 weeks and with no choice left i chose to reach out to our mutual friend so i could get my “friend” to talk to me but my friend made it a fuss saying i was backbiting about him when i wasn’t. Even the mutual friend said i didn’t. Then he switched the topic to me being friends with two male guys whom he wasn’t on good terms with. After that when I tried to confront him, he never listened. I ended up taking the blame to let things settle but in vain. Durin all of this, I made it clear to everyone and friend “Y” too. Second, friend “Y” voted for tbh on my insta story. I gave him a pretty straight to be honest that he shouldn’t hold my hand or grab my arm whenever he wanted to and that he was no one to lecture me, knowing i can make my decisions myself. He thought I was publicly puttting him up for harrassment and I wasn’t !!! He and friend X called me that night and were practically yelling at me and blackmailed me . None of them listened to what i had to say and I was so mentally drained with being misjudged that I did not even protest and took the blame. Then friend “Y” threw me aside from my circle of friends and took my place. She didn’t help me out with any of my problems. Even used to manipulate my sister about me. When I separated ways with her, she started messaging the rest of my friends about our fight with the fear that I’d talk ill about her when I hadn’t again😂. I got to know about this from my friends but I chose to stay silent. My X and Y so called friends think I’m fake and that I used them when they’re the ones who couldn’t get me and disrespected me, misjudged me and didnt even communicate or hear me out. I ended up apologizing and parted ways. I still go to uni and they’re there waving to my sister ( not that I mind it). I choose to ignore them. At times my sister doesn’t even give in with me but i dont take it to my heart. However I walk solo now and i’m happy and more at ease without any of them around. I have a very little circle of friends now and I feel at ease. ( any advice for me?) ( you can take my name as cherrie)
