Hi Mark, I have a link in the description box for the Romex connectors on Amazon. They are 1/2" plastic push-in which I prefer. They have been out of stock on Amazon for awhile, so I have also included a link for 1/2" Romex metal connectors which are in stock for metal boxes. That one just needs to be screwed into place. Both work well and will protect your knockouts. Good luck with your project! Your local hardware store may have better stock in store right now. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the instructions! Three of the eight ceiling LED lights turned off with no reason. I tested the LED lights, they work fine but there must be a problem in the wiring or in the J-Box. Do you think I should rewire or but a new J-Box to fix it?

So I’m new to wiring and a little scared. I know enough to be dangerous…. Which is is dangerous. So If I want to string 12 of these wafer lights together, what size wire am I running from junction box to junction box and I assuming it will have to be the heavy gauge white wire that you connected originally? Any chance you could do a video about that. This was very informative.
Hi Mike, being cautious when wiring is always smart. Take your time and you’ll build confidence as your knowledge grows. I’m using a 14 gauge wire to connect all the lights in this home. I will be adding more wiring videos soon. Thanks for your support!

Great video. But I'm looking for a video that show how to remove the Wafer light without damaging the ceiling so that I can replace it with a ceiling fan. Thanks
Do not pry the knock-outs from the box, that’s what the two black plastic panels are for. Insert a screwdriver in the slot and pry the access panel up and away. Then slide your romex into the grippers. The romex is secured in place when the lid is snapped shut.
Absolutely you can do it that way and I appreciate you sharing your tips! I included the knockouts because a lot of people don’t know you need to use connectors and are doing it incorrectly.
Hi Daru. Thanks for the great guide. I had a reno down with several of these installed, a few months ago. One of the wafers is now flickering. Why would this happen? Installed by electrician. Only 1 is flickering. Is this something I can fix myself or do you think I need an electrician to come back out?
Often a single flickering light is the result of a loose connection. I would turn off the breaker. Test that power is off with a voltage tester and open up the junction box. Once opened check that the black and white wires are firmly connected. Push in your connectors again to confirm they are secure. After doing this I would turn the power on to see if the light is working properly. Then I would turn the power off and push the wires carefully back into the junction box. Place the closed box back into the ceiling and reinstall the wafer light. Sometimes people mistakenly shove wires into the box - this can cause a loose connection. If you feel comfortable doing that it’s not a difficult process. If you don’t your electrician should come back and fix it. Any good electrician will come back to fix their work free of charge. I’d start with calling your electrician. I hope that helps Kimberly!

Did you do this video yet? I want to put niches in my hallway wall with mini recess lights. I have an outlet in that wall and need to know how to create a switch and wiring for the lights. Help please
107 hey how do you have clean hair without sheetrock dust? I wanna know. Haaaaa great vid and attitude.
It’s magic. Thanks Malach211!
She was not wearing a mask and inhaled the sheetrock dust, preventing it from falling into her hair.
@@christinah7716 it’s best to wear a mask and protect your lungs.
3:59 pretty sure you are supposed to put the wires through the black plastic part of the box.......
Tip- Put an ice cream bucket over the saw to collect the dust
Excellent! That’s a money saving tip that is so helpful. Thanks! The idea of reusing what you have is so much better than buying something you’ll use once. A+
Great video darlin......but if I viewed correctly while drinking my titos vodka this morning I noticed that the Halo can already had connectors preinstalled in those junction blocks already.......but I do like the * buttholes" you installed better!great job and keep up the good work!
You’re spot on, you can use them! I’ve only ever used the Romex connectors because that’s what the electricians I work with use. They allow more room to make your connections when wiring multiple lights. The highest ranked DIY video is wired without them. Wires through raw metal which is a major fire hazard. It’s a my version of a public service announcement. :) I want everyone to wire safely. Good to hear from you Kevyn! You made me laugh!
@@DaruDhillon please excuse my dad he's turning 50 next year and has early onset dementia. XD
That's next month son.....lol...maybe you can install some cans for my old man dementia cave!😆
@@kevyncole4519 dad do we need to start looking at homes for you.
I'm sorry ...for a 50 year old dementia ridden or titos induced dad....I commented on your post....lol....as a retired electrician am happy however that both of my electrician sons commented on this post!!!🤪🤪🤪🤪I hope I brought other people to laughter in these dark times❤️❤️❤️
👍👍
Cut horizontally with your knife across the insulation instead of down the middle. That’s day 1 electrical helper stuff.
Thanks for your helpful tip!
I guess nowadays the junction box is much smaller
The wire can clip in the side of the box. No need for a connector.
That's true Brian, thanks for pointing that out. Lots of people are using unprotected knockouts on TH-cam so I wanted to make it clear that it's dangerous. Thanks for the reminder👍
You dont even need a connector, you can bring wire thru those black slits
Thanks Thomas! That’s true. I wanted to run the wires that way because some DIY videos feature wiring through unprotected knockouts which is a major fire hazard. But it’s a good reminder to have it here too. Thanks!
Your statement about a series connection is incorrect.
You can use the other knockouts if you wish.
Nice. But I hate LeD lights bad for eyes
Why aren't you using a dust collector? What a mess.
Hi can you please do a video request of you Installing a led troffer fixture led fluorescent tube please ? Please reply back to my comments when you get a chance thank you,!!
Hi Daniel, Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be making more videos on LED lighting. I'll keep your suggestion in mind if the opportunity comes up to install one!
@@DaruDhillon Hi thank you so much for replying back to my comments and letting me know I appreciate it thank you !! Can't wait for your next light bulb 💡💡 videos I'm so excited !!
Artificial Intelligence will not take over these jobs
Always good to learn hands on applied skills. It’s rewarding to DIY! 🙌🏽
Please for the love, hold your hands steady. Otherwise, helpful video.
Thanks Lance! Appreciate your feedback.
You’re a gem and you move your hands like I do ❤️. Very helpful video and makes me feel confident that I can do this too. Thank you!
No need to pop out the metal plugs the box comes with 2 pre installed black connectors
Good video though
Thanks for that information! It’s true. I always go for the knockouts. I should have been a boxer.
Their just a random loose wire their . U didn’t need to go to the attic .
@@lizardman1303 I had the ceiling replaced so I ran it from a junction box. I would show that step now.
