    I remember going to vista 33 for field trips. Thanks for the memories

    This is awesome. I loved going up to vista 33 and then seeing the telephone showroom in the basement of the AGT building.
    Some great views of a greener downtown (Churchill Square with trees! And, the park next to Manulife!). I'm glad you held onto this tape.

    Pretty fond memories of going up there. I took a lot of photographs there, back in the day. I even got to go there after hours and take photos. It was very cool looking at night. Great video.

    I went there a couple times. Edtel had a phone museum up there at one time. I’d love to go on top of Stantec tower now.

    Ah memories... just finished Grade 11 back then... one more year before starting UofA! Looking back the mid-80s seemed like such a simpler time. Move to Ontario almost 3 decades ago. Still visit Edmonton semi-regularly.. the city's changed, but the memories remain. Note: I remember a really old commercial in the 70s when I was a kid. I think it was a station ID spot for ITV or CTV.... It showed upviews of the AGT building, etc., all to Barry's White's Love Unlimited Orchestra playing Love's Theme! Anybody recall if this was the case?

    Huh. The annex to the Macdonald Hotel has just been demolished (at 3:18) while the old City Hall is still standing (2:10) - it was demolished 4 years later. The CN yards are also still there (1:33) - they had another 14 years to go.

    What a great video, and so many memories. My dads office was on the penthouse level of Edmonton House, just beside the Chateau Lacombe. I left Edmonton in ‘87 for the coast, and although I love it out here, Edmonton will always feel like home. Any idea the name of song or group from the video?

    • @dontfallinthevoid
      @dontfallinthevoid 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flood was in 1987. The year of the F-4 tornado in Edmonton. Could of been high cause of rainfall. Never mind, you're right, it was July 1986...

      There are a lot white people in Vermont

      except the part that some buildings in 2018 which are still standing, other service providers and companies live in these buildings. FYI, Vista 33 AGT Tower doesn't exist anymore. Telus owns the building.
