Nintendo 64 (N64) Repair … Attempt

This video is my attempt in repairing a Nintendo 64 which has no display or sound. Although I was not ultimately successful in repairing this unit, this video will show you the process by which I was trying to diagnose the issue, including a complete teardown and rebuild of the unit.

Also you can clean the contacts of both the RAM slot and game slot by wetting them with rubbing alcohol and inserting them wet, then scrub the slots with their inserts repeatedly, and clean off the cart/RAM with a dry Q tip and repeat until little to no dirt comes off in the cart.

Even without a heatsink, N64s won't typically overheat in open air. Leave on at length and see if PPU gets hot. If it does, it's an internal failure of the PPU.

Did you check the power switch. It might be bad
