Great watch. I put an Uncle Seiko Tropic on mine. Just cut out a notch on both sides and it fits! Just look at a stock rubber strap that comes with an SKX and you will see what I mean.
I just ordered one from Macy's on line for under 700 (661) bucks. Had to pull the trigger! My Dad was a huge Bulova fan, so beyond the history the brand has meaning to me. I have the moon watch, a dress automatic, a Hack and now this is coming. All great vintage inspired watches from a company with history.

I bought this same model and I did not expect to love it as much as I do. Right now it's getting more wrist time than any other watch in my collection. It's true that the lume is not very bright but it does hang on through the night and I'm able to read the time. That's what matters to me anyway.

... Have I mentioned the 16 mm Lug Width? But I believe I have a viable suggestion for an alternate "strap". Point in fact; It's a bracelet - the Forstner Komfit J.B. Mesh Bracelet. I'm presently using one on a Hamilton "Cooper". And Yes, I'm happy with It. The NASA sanction didn't hurt. But I believe the 'Mil-Ships' is a better fit. As the End Lugs are Adjustable from 16 to 20mm. It wears super comfortable. Plus, the Nature of the Mesh is such. It must be the perfect Hot Weather Bracelet ... Good Luck & "Good Hunting"
You are so right about the pricing on this watch. Bulova should know better. They are making this release for watch enthusiasts, who know the value of the movements. They're not fooling us and we are their target customers.

One correction: the triangle on the production bezel is lumed, nothing else is. Also, MSRP means nothing. I bought the production version last week for half MSRP.

The lack of "swiss made" on the SE makes it MORE authentic compared to the LE edition. The OG dial has no "swiss made" on it obviously, because it was made in the US with a US movement (hand-wind, I think). I'm glad Bulova made this mistake because it saved me $1200 LOL. If I had my way the LE wouldn't say "swiss made" on it, but would've gotten a hand wide Selitta movement that you could see through a gorgeous exhibition case back.
Loving the vintage look Bulova have done a great job resurrecting a piece from the past great to see something a bit different. But man those prices!!! WT........😱🤯
Loove that crystal! And smart touch w/ the locking bezel. Overall BRILLIANT looking piece. Those lugs are crrazy. The only downside of the narrow lugs I can think of is you lose flexibility. I feel like you are kind of stuck w/ nato-ish straps. I feel like if you dressed it up - or even put a 2piece rubber strap on it, it might look ... odd. But I love the out of the box choices they made. Super cool! And AWESOME review!
