This is the first time I see any of your videos, and I can already tell you are pure class, sir. Refreshing to see someone that enjoys watches but is also a gentleman, not an overgrown kid trying to flex.
I agree this is MY kind of watch channel. Just the fact that he is spending so much time in the JLC boutique having an in depth discussion is something i truly appreciate
This is high on my list! I have a blue Polaris Chrono and love it! Recently found a tribute to deep sea Polaris. This would round out the rotation nicely ❤ Love JLC…pure class! Great video 👊🏽💪🏽
Great video!! I really like JLC. I recently purchased a Polaris Chronograph with a black dial. I couldn’t be happier with it. The perpetual calendar is stunning!!
This is the watch that I noticed the most this year. My biggest gripe with really formal looking perpetuals is that you can't wear it everywhere, everyday. And if you can't wear it everywhere, its cumbersome to keep it running, and its defeats the purpose of perpetual. This is perfect everyday and also in suit perpetual. Unfortunately don't see too much ho-ha around this gem.
Love the intro man!!! JLC is one of the best brands out there however unfortunately there models is not hyped enough so they don't get the attention they deserved . Visited this boutique when I was in dubai on March. great staff!!
Thanks for the great video! I had a look at this watch in the London JLC boutique and it really looks great, but I thought that the gold version was even more special. The gold gives it some extra heft and visual interest but without being too flashy.
@@WatchSociety Completely agree, but some people don’t have the same view. Just finished watching. It is gorgeous and would look stunning on an orange strap. Did you find the dial too busy or does it work. Thanks 🙏
JLC master thin perpetual is sexy but the use case is quite limited, rarely have a scenario for me to wear it I just wind it daily and look at it on the desk. I prefer wearing navitimer for work and aikon for casual and sport, even work functions I put on Jaquet Droz with the black ceramic bezel, love the way it blend in with the suit instead of slightly standing out with the stainless steel case. But this polaris perpetual might be able to replace both my master ultra thin and aikon, got me thinking if I should sell them and get the polaris
@@idevric I feel you, though I like it a lot, I wouldn't wear it as much as it would deserve. With the polaris I can't stand the second "crown" (or regulator). It kills the symmetry for me. I am petty with that 😅
@@kimkruse4576 true, less classy, 2 crown isnt thst bad, but the 2nd crown for dive bezel is kind of pointless. Its their memovox design but I guess it will be challenge to fit the alarm function with the perpetual cal.
Lovely and well deserved showcase of an underrated watch/watch brand in the current watch market…people need to appreciate JLC more instead of looking at the same old hype watches and brands.
JLC are doing fine, as long as the USA market doesn't hype them like Rolex and PP everybody can appreciate a good thing and not make celebrities out of them.
That's an interesting watch due to the sporting wardrobe not unlike the IWC approach for its perpetual pilots, but here it is much more wearable and accessible at only 42mm. I'll have to look at it in the metal!
When I took my journey seriously in watch collecting almost 20 years ago, I was fascinated in complications in watches. This meant a natural navigation to 3 brand, JLC, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Phillippe. So at the time it was dress watches. So seeing this perpetual calendar on a sports watch is quite intriguing. Same as you, I am not a fan of the perpetual calendar as I have so many watches in rotation, will be forever setting the watch up, which trust me that's a lot of time and can be tedious and time consuming. My favourite is the minute repeater. It's visually better looking on the front and back and it's the hardest complication for a watch maker to produce. If this was a minute repeater, it will be a serious contender for me. Thanks again bro for showing me this piece which i probably would have overlooked.
Richard Man, I’ve never liked perpetual calendars for the same reason, setting up is a pain. I can tell you however that JLC made the setup process much easier on this perpetual. For me honestly I’m very happy to see JLC adding more functions to their sport category. Previously, everything was done to perfection on the classic models just almost too good to the point it was to good to buy ! 😆 for a brand with such deep roots and history making over 1,300+ unique calibers for almost every single brand it’s about time they establish themselves in the sport category. What are your thoughts about the kaki green Polaris automatic? I am referring to the boutique exclusive
@@WatchSociety when it was released, I thought not another green dial watch. JLC jumping on the hype train. However, I have seen it in real life and pictures don't do it justice. The dial has a lacquer applied to it and creates so many different shades of green. Makes it so striking on the eye. It's also 200m dive watch making it very wearable for a everyday watch. Not too keen on the date window at 3 and for me at 42mm it's a bit too large on my wrist. However, at a very reasonable price point, it's definitely a serious contender in the dive watch segment among its competitors.
Haha true, its almost a ritual. I wind my jlc master thin perpetual every morning just to appreciate it, but I Dont really wear it much, it sits in front of my monitor most of the time, got other watches for everyday rotation already. Although Its not really that hard to set the jlc, but it will be painful if you accidently move pass the current date, so I just keep it running and put it in a auto winder if need to leave for long trips
JLC is efective another level when you want a Watch, I have Master Compressor Extreme World Alarm and is like New After 15 years and The Finesse of The mechanism and tough same Time is excepțional. I used to have many IWC Breitling Panerai Omega But I think JLC is better. I’ve been to a few JLC boutiques and I can’t find it. I want to try this thing on so bad. But I am concerned about the 42mm. How does it compare to the GMT Master 2 you had on?
Flatter and a wrist magnet when on the rubber strap, my preference. Jaeger-LeCultre flagship boutique at Dubai mall still has one available, I think. Kate is your girl, reach out
World class watch presented by a world class gentleman. Great review! This JLC is one of my grail watches given the wearability, horology, and overall quality of this watch. From the smallest to the most complicated details JLC just knocks this out of the park. Takes a true watch collector/enthusiast/purist to realize how amazing this watch is. Great review!
Beautiful watch, I really love the balance and clarity of the dial. However, I do feel that the overall concept is incoherent. While 10 ATM is good enough for a sports watch (including swimming), it is not sufficient for diving - this makes the dive bezel and its dedicated crown really redundant.
Warning to other owners: The clasp unfortunately inadequate. It comes off too easily upon impact. You can literally lose your watch if you use this for swimming. Be careful. JLC needs to fix this.
Ridiculous to even compare to the ultramass robot factory produced Rolexes. Before marketing hype, Daytonas were sold reduced prices to make them sell.
Is there a single JLC that isn't better than any Rolex? JLC are watchmakers. Rolex are watch marketeers. Is there a Rolex with more than just a day/date or, mostly, useless Chronograph complication?
Is it better than a Rolex? Nope. It's more complicated than a Rolex but if you put it on you notice all the design flaws with the strap and cheap ass strap change system. The butterfly clasp really is a weak point as well. I have proof and it's in this video! The movements are SMALL. They are not designed for the cases hence the giant metal ring as a filler. That's not cool!

JLC Haute Horology perfection and mastery! Beautiful and exquisite Watch!

Nice production. The JLC Polaris perpetual calendar is one of my favourite novelties of 2022.
About to be mine too
Best JLC boutique in the world, got my Reverso there and Kathy was the one making the deal. Beyond outstanding service !
Absolutely love JLC. Have my Atmos clock and Reverso and I’m working to add a Duometre in due course!

It does look very nice but out of place for a Polaris IMO.
C’est tellement drôle de voire elle parle anglais avec accent français...北方人?
Obviously better than any Rolex. Also far better than Rainbow Daytona

Oh I am onto one
I am biiig fan of JLC, would always pick Reverso over Tank, but not a big fan of the polaris design. Ultra thin perpetual and moonphase are 🔥 though
