This seems like a very versatile pencil. So many configurations you can set it to and customize it however you like. I see why the clip would bother your hand. It's a thin flat piece of metal with no curves to smooth it out. It may not cut but it is enough to create a pressure hotspot that never feels good against the skin. Good thing you can adjust the length to enough for it to not be a hassle - those of us with huge paws have to live with it and adapt 😅 Thank you for the review and the tips! @@fanofpencils-cleo774 I think so, too. Many plastic ones have interesting features, such as the Pentel E-sharp that you reviewed. I recently discovered that Uni-ball Chroma advances the lead automatically, but uses a different mechanism from Faber-Castell Grip Matic, Poly Matic (Maped and even Pentel Orenz Nero use the same mechanism - except the Orenz Nero's is metal, and has an extra spring for increased tension). Would be nice to see what else is available - especially with your attention to detail. Glad you're well.
I have an itch to buy a mechanical pencil, but it must have something unique about it. So, I have shortlisted 4 different pencils as per my taste. 1) Ohto conception 2) Staedtler 925 35 3) Platinum pro use 171 4) Uni kuro toga roulette. I cant decide which one to buy 😟. I am getting all 4 at almost same price. If you could help based on your experience that would be awesome. For your reference, I will use the pencil primarily for writing and marking, and I prefer to use heavy, full metal type writing instruments. Thanks in advance.
It’s difficult for me to make a decision too 😊, you can tell that I have bought quite a lot pencils because I’m curious and indecisive. Hmm, let’s say, the safest choice should be Staedtler 925 35, it’s simple and reliable. But for more fun, Ohto conception is interesting though the grip is a bit slippery for long writing, you can get a rubber grip to put on for more comfortable use. Platinum pro use 171 is just so so, cuz the rattling noise kills my soul. Uni kuro toga roulette… I ordered it but the seller canceled my order due to out of stock, since then it’s become a missing piece in my collection. I actually like the writing result of kuro toga system though it feels odd writing with a little bouncing lead. I used to think an expensive and high tech pencil would satisfy me. Then I realise the simplest is the best. It’s all up to your needs and preferences, I hope you will soon find out what is your right mechanical pencil 😊.

Your analysis helped me to make some easy eliminations. I have rejected the Platinum pro use 171 and Kuru toga, wouldn't want my pencil to rattle or bounce. Now, all I have to do is select between Staedtler and ohto. Despite being slippery, I am inclining towards ohto conception, based on your video. But, staedtler looks gorgeous, especially the metal grip. So, in the end, I will have to rely on coin toss method to make an elimination 😅. But, thank you for your help, hoping your channel to grow leaps and bound!
If you don't like the smooth grip that is slippery, you can get instead the Promecha Pm-1000s, it has a nice knurled grip. It's the best Staedtler regulator alternative imo

Oh As far as I watch video - I begin to get why its name is conception. Really nice conception to make adjustible pencil. The next step is to make adjustible grip - kind of as far as you turn it the grip is getting more and more tough.
Great idea!!! The MyTeeGrip of Zebra is somewhat similar to your idea of adjustable grip but your idea is more outstanding . I hope people will soon make it happen :)
Since no one asked, what did you have in mind? A rotary mechanism that makes grippy parts extend or retract, like rubber bits in the Pentel GraphGear 1000 or Smash? I like that concept.

Note: generally, it is a very good pencil, no wobbles, no rattles but the grip is quite slippy **\(^_^)/**

I really like this pencil
The grip is a bit slippery so it’s not comfort for writing but I think it’s ok for drafting.

I bought it from Lazada. I think you can find it ơn AliExpress as well but be watchout of the price. It should be about $20
