A Short Trip To Mengkuang Dam! | The H Channel

Greetings and welcome back to The H Channel! For the coming episode, the team will be taking a drive up to Mengkuang Dam! Mengkuang Dam is a dam in Central Seberang Perai District and it is the largest dam in Penang.
It is the only dam that is situated in Seberang Perai (Penang Mainland) and the second dam built in Penang after Ayer Itam dam. It was officially opened by the former governor, Dr. Tun Awang bin Hassan in 1985.
The catchment area of Mengkuang Dam is the Bukit Mertajam Recreational Forest. In addition to being a major source of drinking water to the population of Penang, Mengkuang Dam is also a favourite recreational area for the people living nearby. There are jogging tracks and benches. The dam was also the venue of the dragon boat race for many years.
