I sell Hyundai's / Genesis in Vancouver Washington and we just got the Palisades in and I am blown away with everything in it!! I think the interior is 10x better ergonomically than the Telluride. The biggest differences I have found so far between the two is the Palisade has a shift by wire buttons that you would think is a huge head ache but they made the buttons big enough to where it not weird at all. Also, the Palisade has a bigger infotainment screen you can split into 3 screens along with the awesome intercom system to speak ( not yell) to the third row and they can talk back. The other part the Telluride doesn't have is power folding 3rd row and when they are up they recline too. Yesterday I have a 6'2" customer sit in the 2nd row and I still had 5" of room in the 3rd row before my legs hit the back of his seat and I'm 5'11". If you want more information or want to come drive one we have a fully loaded one, we would love to have you guys come out here to drive it. Otherwise, I can't wait to see your review of it!!

  • @CT37BN

Hey Lincoln this is how you do proper luxury metal inserts with the interior - it's called brushed metal and it's certainly gives a high end feel than cheap polished metal.

We test drove the Telluride but could not get past the feeling that the interior finishing too much like the Santa Fe XL that we have leased for the last four years and they were asking an inflated price for it. The reason GM vehicles lights stay on is because it is a feature. The feature is called Exit Lighting, in the Vehicle Settings menu. It cam be programed to stay on for a certain amount of time to light your path and it's also used as a visual locator when you unlock the vehicle rather than sounding the alarm/horn.

I drove a "Green" Telluride EX when I was looking for a new car. I was pretty impressed too. My only thought was I felt the seats were too wide. I slipped around a bunch and I'm 5'9" and 236lbs. I really considered buying the Telluride considering the feel of quality it had. I test drove a new Honda Pilot and have owned the first generation Pilot. The Telluride seems much, much nicer. However, I ended up puchasing the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Santa Fe fits my current needs better as 2 of 3 kids have left the nest and my youngest has a car too. However, I was surprised to note that the Telluride with the 6 cyl was more fuel efficient than the 2.0l turbo 4 in the Santa Fe with AWD. I guess the Adkinson cycle is pretty awesome. I have been getting better fuel economy in the Santa Fe than expected and am very pleased with the Hyundai/KIA family of vehicles qualities. You guys aren't kidding when you say the Lane Keep Assist is amazing. My Santa Fe is awesome. However, people should know, that this is a configurable option. So, if you test this feature on any Hyundai or KIA, the LKK might not live up to your expectations if it is configured wrong. Be sure to ask lots of questions. I wish I had known that the Tellurides LKK would let you go for 5 minutes without touching the wheel. That might have tipped the balance between the Santa Fe and the Telluride. The Santa Fe won't let you go even close to that time before you're nagged into touching the wheel and having the LKK disengaged. I'm so happy with the Advanced Cruise Control too. It really does take the hustle of rush hour out of my day. Awesome vehicles. It has changed my opinion of Hyundai/KIA

I’m very interested in active Lane Centering like this new Telluride seems to have. I'd like to learn if the new Palisades has exactly the same great ADAS as this Telluride?
Continued engagement without endless “Put your hands on the Wheel” messages sound great, but I wonder if that is for Canadian vehicles only?

Thanks guys. I ABSOLUTELY love this thing with just a few exceptions. This and the Palisade actually deliver on the billing. Most of the segment leaders (F, H, T) have 2nd row seat benches that are too close to the floor and have you feeling like you’re sitting in one of those preschool chairs on parent’s night. The 3rd row in those other vehicles are also not habitable for anyone not eating 🍊 slices in between periods at a soccer game. Other vehicles that actually can be comfortable in the third row include the Sequoia, Atlas, Armada & the Expedition XL.
As I understand the main functional differences between the Telluride & Palisade are the suspension, shifter and rear seat controls. I like the exterior styling of the Telluride best and the interior is a draw for me. What they need to do in order for me to buy it is allow the 8 passenger option on the SX trim. It’s not necessary to penalize someone who wants to purchase a larger vehicle by decreasing their seating capacity. Orrrrrr offer the SX exclusive features as options on the trim level below.
What I’d like to see from you guys are 2 unique comparison tests that I haven’t seen anyone else do. I’d like to see a 2nd and 3rd row seating comparison of the top 7 3 row SUV’s. I know with your many loyal fans you won’t have any trouble locating extras to load up the vehicles with different sized people and seeing how the vehicles perform at load. Please include the GM models so we can see how horrible they are at space utilization. Hurry and jump on this because it’s not something that’s been done. One of your ‘competitors’ will swoop in and steal the idea first.
Secondly since Yuri is so into lane keep systems like I am I’d like to see a comparison of the 7 best lane keep systems.

Volkswagen lane keeping assist is actually kinda funny (we have a Tiguan). First it beeps, then it beeps again, then it shakes the car a bit, then it brakes to wake you up. On the Touareg in Europe it does all of that but if you still don't put your hands on the wheel it'll pull over and call emergency services.

This is what we are planning to get to replace my wife’s car. All reviewers are raving about how great the Telluride is to the point I thought Kia was paying them off. But I went and test drove one to see and they are absolutely correct. The Telluride is as awesome as it sounds. I will wait till next year when they start coming off fleet contracts to save on that depreciation though.

If you were to put in an order for the top trim Telluride today, you might well be waiting "till next year" to have it delivered. The wait list at my local KIA dealer whose policy is NOT to add a second sticker to the price stretches to December.

Fun facts about "Telluride". Like other commenters are saying it is a town in Colorado, and everybody knows you have to name your truck/SUV after a place in the western US, or at least after something that evokes images of the western US, for it to have any credibility. See: Tacoma, Silverado, Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon (Hey - that's our shit, GMC). Also though, Tellurium is an element, and Tellurides are a group of mineral compounds that contain this element, many of which are found with ores of precious metals, like gold and silver tellurides (which are the ones the town in CO is named after, cause it was a mining town). Themoreyouknow.wav
EDIT: Thank you for subscribing to Mineral Facts.
