We just purchased the Palisade. We test drove the Telluride but could not get past the feeling that the interior finishing too much like the Santa Fe XL that we have leased for the last four years and they were asking an inflated price for it. If you like the rugged look on the outside then the Telluride is for you, but the Palisade is a better value overall, IMO.
@@salocin911 Getting used to the push buttons for Drive/Park/Reverse and all the electronics on the control panels. We love the seats, the ride, the acceleration, the handling and safety features. The teen and the dog love the rear cooled seats :)
@@venom5809 Trust me, both the Palisade and the Telluride are a huge improvement over the bouncy back end on the Santa Fe XL. Not like driving a couch, but also not like riding in a horse and buggy.
I have watched my fair share of Telluride videos.... (I plan on buying one soon)... You two are about the ONLY ones I have watched that really talk more in depth about the lane keep assist. Definitely sold me on it, even more than I was originally! :)
Awesome review Yuri and Jakob! Already subscribed. Tell it like it is...your reviews are the benchmark of how automotive reviews should be. Whereas, other journalists just recite press materials. Easily half a dozen comes to mind.
This is what we are planning to get to replace my wife’s car. All reviewers are raving about how great the Telluride is to the point I thought Kia was paying them off. But I went and test drove one to see and they are absolutely correct. The Telluride is as awesome as it sounds. I will wait till next year when they start coming off fleet contracts to save on that depreciation though.
If you were to put in an order for the top trim Telluride today, you might well be waiting "till next year" to have it delivered. The wait list at my local KIA dealer whose policy is NOT to add a second sticker to the price stretches to December.
Thanks for the detailed Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) demo and details. (Most of your TH-cam peers skip any detailed info on any of these newer advanced systems, almost like they are afraid of them)! I’m very interested in active Lane Centering like this new Telluride seems to have. I'd like to learn if the new Palisades has exactly the same great ADAS as this Telluride? Continued engagement without endless “Put your hands on the Wheel” messages sound great, but I wonder if that is for Canadian vehicles only?
Excellent review. We test drove the exact same model last weekend. My wife fell in love with it. I guess it's a buy now. Keep up the good work and of course, I am now *subbed*
They should make a high-performance version either with the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 from the Stinger GT/Genesis G90 or the G90's 5L V8. That might be a serious competitor to even the GLS, X7, and Q7.
Great review. I just subscribed. We bought a telluride SX in Snow Pearl White (Espresso Brown interior) a couple of weeks ago, and while we didn't test drive any other vehicles, I can confidently say that for the value, styling and options you get in the Telluride, this was the right choice for my family of 5. And yes, the lane keep assist and smart cruise control are absolutely amazing.
I have a 2019 Stinger. If you turn off driver attention warning, the lane keep works exactly like the Telluride. I have a friend that has a $120k Audi and he loves my kia's smart cruise control and lane keep.
Huge pet peeve of mine that freight and pre delivery inspection are close to $2000 now in Canada and dealers can't be bothered to set the tire pressure.
Another great video. Been a silent subscriber for a very long time and glad that I did subscribe. Keep rocking and wish you a million subscribers soon!
I have a 1991 Land Cruiser and I'm a big fan of these late 70's to early 90's aging 4x4's that are going up in price because of their old-school rugged 4x4 look and durable reputations. The Telluride is the first SUV I've seen in a while that will be a cool, appreciating 4x4 (especially in that cool green moss color) in 25 years from now.
I drive around ~150 miles (241.1km) a day and I bought my Telluride in May. It’s been a Godsend on my commute. Only think is the gas tanks a little small but I switched from a 2016 VW Touareg TDi so I was spoiled. I love my Telluride! I got the Dark Moss with the black wheels and it’s boss😎
bought this vehicle a few months ago, LOVE IT. only issue is most drivers flash their high beams at me at night, because these headlights are SUPER BRIGHT!!!!
Fun facts about "Telluride". Like other commenters are saying it is a town in Colorado, and everybody knows you have to name your truck/SUV after a place in the western US, or at least after something that evokes images of the western US, for it to have any credibility. See: Tacoma, Silverado, Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon (Hey - that's our shit, GMC). Also though, Tellurium is an element, and Tellurides are a group of mineral compounds that contain this element, many of which are found with ores of precious metals, like gold and silver tellurides (which are the ones the town in CO is named after, cause it was a mining town). Themoreyouknow.wav EDIT: Thank you for subscribing to Mineral Facts.
I drove a "Green" Telluride EX when I was looking for a new car. I was pretty impressed too. My only thought was I felt the seats were too wide. I slipped around a bunch and I'm 5'9" and 236lbs. I really considered buying the Telluride considering the feel of quality it had. I test drove a new Honda Pilot and have owned the first generation Pilot. The Telluride seems much, much nicer. However, I ended up puchasing the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Santa Fe fits my current needs better as 2 of 3 kids have left the nest and my youngest has a car too. However, I was surprised to note that the Telluride with the 6 cyl was more fuel efficient than the 2.0l turbo 4 in the Santa Fe with AWD. I guess the Adkinson cycle is pretty awesome. I have been getting better fuel economy in the Santa Fe than expected and am very pleased with the Hyundai/KIA family of vehicles qualities. You guys aren't kidding when you say the Lane Keep Assist is amazing. My Santa Fe is awesome. However, people should know, that this is a configurable option. So, if you test this feature on any Hyundai or KIA, the LKK might not live up to your expectations if it is configured wrong. Be sure to ask lots of questions. I wish I had known that the Tellurides LKK would let you go for 5 minutes without touching the wheel. That might have tipped the balance between the Santa Fe and the Telluride. The Santa Fe won't let you go even close to that time before you're nagged into touching the wheel and having the LKK disengaged. I'm so happy with the Advanced Cruise Control too. It really does take the hustle of rush hour out of my day. Awesome vehicles. It has changed my opinion of Hyundai/KIA
With Honda's lane camera, I hated that they made the mirror obnoxiously shaped to accommodate the camera. I like that the Hyundai/Kia set up hides the camera nicely.
I sell Hyundai's / Genesis in Vancouver Washington and we just got the Palisades in and I am blown away with everything in it!! I think the interior is 10x better ergonomically than the Telluride. The biggest differences I have found so far between the two is the Palisade has a shift by wire buttons that you would think is a huge head ache but they made the buttons big enough to where it not weird at all. Also, the Palisade has a bigger infotainment screen you can split into 3 screens along with the awesome intercom system to speak ( not yell) to the third row and they can talk back. The other part the Telluride doesn't have is power folding 3rd row and when they are up they recline too. Yesterday I have a 6'2" customer sit in the 2nd row and I still had 5" of room in the 3rd row before my legs hit the back of his seat and I'm 5'11". If you want more information or want to come drive one we have a fully loaded one, we would love to have you guys come out here to drive it. Otherwise, I can't wait to see your review of it!!
Guys... I sincerely enjoy your reviews. You guys do an fantastic job, and I look forward to the new ones. That said... please look up the name of a vehicle before saying something about the name. Telluride is a well now town.
I have my SX AWD in pearl white now for almost a month. I love the rugged boxy look, the amber light, that it came standard with all the technology bells and whistles and safety features, very quiet inside. It also produces a better gas mileage than my 2017 Sorento. I have also driven a Chevy trailblazer Ext lt, Chevy traverse Lt, you definitely get more for the money, I also received $3600 in discount from msrp of $49,997 cad. A friend from the gym asked me when did I get this Range Rover😊. 4 separate times i got a reaction “that’s a Kia?” It’s really a wow, Kia did awesome in this vehicle.
Oh those DRLs! The thing is, my 2019 Sorento has very similar amber DRLs and I love them for the same reason you point out on the Telluride. You can always recognize the Sorento or Telluride from afar! And like you, I compare the Sorento to more luxury entries in the field. It's 85% of a RR Cullinan at 10% of the price! LOL
Just got the 2021 "base model" LX in black($33kUS, $44kCA)and it's amazing. So much car for the money. It's like a lving room wearing a tux on wheels. I like to keep cars for around 10 years so the 10 year warranty is also a big bonus. KIA nailed it in every department.

I just bought the palisade also over the Telluride. I love it.
But that front grille on the Palisade is hideous.
This actually looks really good. I’d be curious how it does off-road
Always love watching your guys intro. Thank you for making the amazing videos that you do. From one creator to another you guys are awesome!!
I have watched my fair share of Telluride videos.... (I plan on buying one soon)... You two are about the ONLY ones I have watched that really talk more in depth about the lane keep assist. Definitely sold me on it, even more than I was originally! :)
Man I just opened youtube and it made my day
Awesome review Yuri and Jakob! Already subscribed. Tell it like it is...your reviews are the benchmark of how automotive reviews should be. Whereas, other journalists just recite press materials. Easily half a dozen comes to mind.
Thanks
This is what we are planning to get to replace my wife’s car. All reviewers are raving about how great the Telluride is to the point I thought Kia was paying them off. But I went and test drove one to see and they are absolutely correct. The Telluride is as awesome as it sounds. I will wait till next year when they start coming off fleet contracts to save on that depreciation though.
If you were to put in an order for the top trim Telluride today, you might well be waiting "till next year" to have it delivered. The wait list at my local KIA dealer whose policy is NOT to add a second sticker to the price stretches to December.
a year later the resale value on these are great! not much depreciation... lol.
kil koh yeah. We ended up getting a Hyundail Santa Fe.
I saw one of these in black and omg the thing is a beauty. I did not think I’d like it and yet I fell in love.
I got a Telluride because of you guys and absolutely love it. Thank you
GET THESE GUYS TO A MILLION
Excellent review. We test drove the exact same model last weekend. My wife fell in love with it. I guess it's a buy now. Keep up the good work and of course, I am now *subbed*
YES FINALLY I'VE WAITED A YEAR FOR THIS
The tails lights were the thing that first attracted me to the Telly! Very different and distinctive.
Thank you for the review! I want to get a used one of these in a few years for my "mom vehicle" 👍
I love you guys. I’m that guy on ig who asked about this review man last week thanks guys ! Y’all the best.
They should make a high-performance version either with the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 from the Stinger GT/Genesis G90 or the G90's 5L V8. That might be a serious competitor to even the GLS, X7, and Q7.
They are, it's called the Genesis GV80 and it's not out yet.
Oh they will, this platform is new and I imagine a performance trim soon.
would be neat but its fwd based transverse engine, so there's not enough room or you run into a 3000GT scenario where a simple fix becomes a nightmare
Hyundai make new t-gdi engines i heard. 2.5l ,3.5l gasoline. 2.5l guess 280~300hp , 3.5l guess 370~400hp. These engines start Genesis Gv80.
I about lost my shit at work when Yuri said "Gallons per football field"... then totally did when he tacked on the "by Fahrenheit". Bravo.
Thank y’all for bringing it to my attention that i was not subscribed. I am now subscribed.
I have been waiting for this so long. Jeez @straightpipes. lol. Watching it now..Canada representing
Carl Mathews why weren’t we on the launch!
@@YuriTereshyn This vehicle is amazing. But I am a Palisade guy I prefer the Telluride Trims though. Hyundai let me down with the Trims.
I have a 2019 Stinger. If you turn off driver attention warning, the lane keep works exactly like the Telluride.
I have a friend that has a $120k Audi and he loves my kia's smart cruise control and lane keep.
Spanc01 Nand Is it limited by a certain MPH? Some non-Tesla lane keep assist like BMW’s are limited to under 62mph.
You had me subscribed at the conversions for fuel economy. Thank you for using the metric system.
Always with the gorgeous footage, and editing. The shot with the plane behind the SUV was bananas.
The tire pressure are around 50 psi…this definitely should be adjusted before test drive.
Huge pet peeve of mine that freight and pre delivery inspection are close to $2000 now in Canada and dealers can't be bothered to set the tire pressure.
@@ady9910 Tyres definitely can hold 50 psi.
Another great video. Been a silent subscriber for a very long time and glad that I did subscribe. Keep rocking and wish you a million subscribers soon!
Thanks!
Love you guys, one of my favorite YT channels, and definitely the best cars-related videos 👏👏

This car has so much presence on the road. I can't stop looking at it with the unique DRL.
Great review. I'll take the outside of the Telluride with the inside of the Palisade, please.
I drive around ~150 miles (241.1km) a day and I bought my Telluride in May. It’s been a Godsend on my commute. Only think is the gas tanks a little small but I switched from a 2016 VW Touareg TDi so I was spoiled. I love my Telluride! I got the Dark Moss with the black wheels and it’s boss😎
ugh man i wasn't subscribed and every time you call me out it hits me hard. i've watched a ton of your videos.
just subbed.
YEEESSS! I have been waiting for this review. Thank you! Now the Hyundai Palisade next!
Telluride in Colorado was nicknamed “To hell you ride” in the old west days.
Kia/Hyundai are killing it this year!
topgeartim I agree
Telluride front & Palisade back is the combo I want.
It will be all good if I can find one dealer who can keep the inventory in the lot. They said they are sold out before touching the dealer lots.
Finally! Took you guys long enough. Been waiting on your review before making my purchase decision.
I have the Telluride and I absolutely love it!
Was that me but when he floored it was that VTEC?? 5:58
I want this in Europe! Nappa leader in a KIA?? Wow!
Kia has been using Nappa leather for many years, starting with the 2013/2014 Optima.

I'm thinking to import a Hyundai Palisade. I don't understand why they decided to keep these cars just for USA and Canada
bought this vehicle a few months ago, LOVE IT. only issue is most drivers flash their high beams at me at night, because these headlights are SUPER BRIGHT!!!!
Themoreyouknow.wav
EDIT: Thank you for subscribing to Mineral Facts.
speaking of CO, Colorado is also named used for a truck.
I like that the Hyundai/Kia set up hides the camera nicely.
nice work dudes!
not Canadian, but one of the best/enjoyable Telluride reviews that I've seen.
Buddy traded in his X5 for one. Says he doesn't remotely regret it. (Had one as a courtesy car and fell in love)
Well now
The blackout version looks so good.
It is very noticeable that Kia has created her car with an eye on the Volvo XC90
4 separate times i got a reaction “that’s a Kia?”
It’s really a wow, Kia did awesome in this vehicle.
The b-pillar and back looks exactly like something Cadillac would make.
and the taillights look exactly like a xc90 from 10 ft away
Kia definitely takes design cues from other brands, AND they hired BMW’s lead design guy (I forget which position).
Hey, if it works, it works.
LOL
done ! 2020 KIA TELLURIDE BEST WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR. good job kia
