If you have a little kid that doesn’t want to ride big rides get them on Little Dipper very back row you get that stomach feeling and some airtime that will get them ready for bigger rides
The thing about Great America's roller coasters is that you might be able to say that none of them are your favorite of their kind, but it's such an eclectic collection of coasters that any coaster enthusiasts would really enjoy this park.
Nice video! Personally, I’d put Whizzer and the woodies a bit higher. I’ve ridden almost all the B&M hypers in North America, and they’re all great fun, including Raging Bull, which is awesome and well worth marathoning. It certainly has gotten some exaggerated criticism over the years, IMO.
Three correcfions: American Eagle remains the Worlds Tallest and longest racing coaster. In addition it has the longest drop on a wooden coaster as it goes 20 feet into the ground. X-Flight is 3000 feet long not 2000 feet Raging Bull is not themed after the Chicago Bulls. It is themed after a southwestern bull (hence the coaster is located in the southwest territory and is painted the way it is)
Goliath has the longest drop on a wooden coaster....... and even if you are talking about traditional wooden coasters it's El Toro. American Eagle has the 10th longest drop of wooden coasters in the world.
All the people who miss Kiddieland after it closed in 2009. That park was way closer to Chicago and cheaper than Great America. I had to go to Great America for a senior high school trip.

I grew up a mile away from this park got season passes every year. Pro tip: ride the bull in the back. Whips pretty good especially on the bunny hop. Also rip deja vu! I was finally tall enough the year before they took it down, only got to ride it once.

I am happy that the campaign to keep it from being torn down actually worked. We have to preserve all of the Schwarzkopfs that we can these days. I went on the joker. The girlfriend from the teenage couple across from me started crying before the ride started. When the ride was over the boyfriend was also crying. I was dead silent the whole time cuz I thought I was gonna die.
One of my favorite memories I've ever had was just a few days ago on the raging bull. I was with three of my friends and we waited for front seated. The son was almost down and the wind was blinding us. WE had so much fun and so many laughs that day.

Folks we put the wrong Superman on the video, we made this video 2 in the morning. We accidentally use the superman from Georgia. Last year's version we had the right superman on. We had to reboot this because another youtuber claim that we use his videos of Batman The ride. If you follow us all our ride videos has time stamped on it.
Man I haven't been in a while... Must be ten years because I rode the Iron Wolf the last time I was there, it was always my favorite. Checked it out and glad to see it still operates somewhere. Goliath looks awesome! I feel like Raging Bull is impressive but pretty tame. Goliath looks pretty scary. Proud to say I have ridden the Eagle backwards, don't know if they do that anymore. One of my favorite days of all time was a field trip to Great America when I was in 10th grade... I grew up some that day lol. The whole park was full of unsupervised teenagers from the surrounding areas. Kids were getting wasted on the bus before we even got there. It was glorious chaos.
Goliath is short, but absolutely terrifying. Endless ride up the lift hill to give you plenty of time to regret your life choices, then you round the top, and keep rounding it because the drop is somehow steeper than you realize- more regret- and then it's pretty much a vertical drop that about gave me a heart attack. Not to mention you only get a lap bar as you're flung and flipped- I forgot to take my glasses off my first ride and had the terrifying experience of clutching them to my face with one hand and CLINGING to the lap bar with the other because it felt truly dangerous (whether it was or wasn't). That coaster feels like it'll eject you any second. Absolutely thrilling! A little sad that it's so short, but it was built specifically to fill that empty space, so I think they did a great job with what they had.

The Eagle was always rough , and it opened in 81 , I have been going to GA since 1976 when it opened for the bicentennial , and Tidal Wave was a much better coaster then vertical velocity , also viper was a rough ride to , Gurnee is 45 mins from Chicago ( where I live and born and raised ) but the weather with rain and cold depending does affect these rides !! But they are all my fav except for the ring of fire aka Mardi Gras hangover that’s what that is

Fo the Eagles 40th they should have RMC come in and IBOX the track and replace the coaster cars. No need to re invent it. It would be so much smoother and probably pick up at least 10 mph or more.

The Wizzer was my first coaster in 1977! My boyfriend, now husband of 27 years, had never ridden a coaster with a loop before, so I took him on the Demon. He really enjoyed it. I remember when The Eagle debuted. The lines stretched nearly back to the Demon! I road Batman the Ride, I was terrified! Many moons ago, the had a very fun coaster called Z-force that was short, but a blast to ride! The one that came next, was a stand-up coaster called, Iron Wolf. This was a favorite of mine. I would stand a bit slack-kneed so when the harness locked in place I would be floating. It was so amazing to just close my eyes and feel like I was flying. :) Thanks so much for this! I have not been able to ride coasters due to degenerative disease for nearly 20 years. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories. Keep riding!
Never been to 6 flags before and I have an opportunity to go this weekend with my friends, I want to go, but I don't because I feel like I will get there and then realize that the rides are bigger than I thought, and then not want to go on any of them.
I am scared of Goliath because I do not like floater airtime and because there is nothing to hold on to (based on what I have heard). How do I avoid floater airtime on Goliath (airtime on the first drop).
you can hold on to the lapbar, but theres not alot of floater airtime on the first drop. and it is a scary looking coaster but once you ride it the first time you will be hooked for life.

When I was younger, the Demon was always my first coaster. My "get my body ready for the bigger coasters" sort of thing. But I think they could use that space for a brand new coaster. Of the old coasters to replace new ones with, I think Batman, Demon, and American Eagle are candidates. For the Eagle they should build a bigger, better eagle.
Changes to the Eagle could be coming. Next year is the 40th anniversary of the rides debut. The rumor is they may RMC it for the 2022 season. We will see.

The whizzer was my first big coaster growing up that was in 1988 I was 12 and I loved it

If a ride is completely motorised it isn’t a coaster. The goal of a coaster is to create thrills with just the power of gravity
The Whizzer Speedracer roller coaster has motors on the trains and uses them on the electrified spiral lift hill then it uses gravity after that.

Back in the day V2 used to stall at the top of the tower for a few seconds before dropping down again. The screeching sound is the worst.
The dark knight was never fully constructed at SFNE and was moved to Six flags Mexico. So there was only 3 coasters not 4

When I was younger, the Demon was always my first coaster. My "get my body ready for the bigger coasters" sort of thing. But I think they could use that space for a brand new coaster. Of the old coasters to replace new ones with, I think Batman, Demon, and American Eagle are candidates. For the Eagle they should build a bigger, better eagle.

Changes to the Eagle could be coming. Next year is the 40th anniversary of the rides debut. The rumor is they may RMC it for the 2022 season. We will see.
