I did a “Mom’s Summer school “. Basically asked my kids what they would like to learn and do. Had them create a summer bucket list then we discussed as a family how we could accomplish most things on the list. Also during mom’s summer school I would add a couple of lessons that my kids had difficulty’s in school. Math , writing. Each kid is different .
My kids are 5 & 9. They have a handful of 1/2 day camps. My kids do not sleep in - up by 7:15 am every day. They have breakfast, do their summer homework (45 min of math and reading), take dog on a quick walk, one hour of tablet time (apple setting shuts them off after one hour) while I do chores. Then, we go do something after lunch like a park, pool, splash pads, etc. They play outside a lot too riding bikes, basketball, soccer, play set, trampoline, play with neighbors, etc. At night, we have dinner together and go on a walk, pool, watch a family show in our outdoor living space, etc.
I love this video!! Thank you Lauren !! Your garden, your chickens!! The dry veggies, The organization, and the amazing recipe of macaronis and cheese with lobsters !!! ❤❤ Thank you for sharing a piece of your life ! God bless you!
Getting the dehydrator is a game changer! I can preserve foods for 10-15 years if stored properly. Ive been dehydrating from our farm produce for 20 years. When you do your onions, take the dehydrator out side........Your family will thank you! : )
Bonjour Lauren, Just a suggestion; I,ve dehydrated tomato slices and ground them in my Ninja blender. It became a fine powder which I now store in a mason jar. When I need tomato paste, I simply add a bit of water to the amount of tomato powder I need and voilà; tomato paste:)
Oh Lauren you make my day!!! So what do you do With all the eggs? Quiche anyone😃 When I started watching your channel a couple years ago, I thought oh no one will get me in the mood to decorate but I was wrong! You are incredible! By the way your garden looks great. Your family is lucky to have you.
If you are making powders you can turn them into a paste first. Then you smear them on parchment paper and after dehydrating you grind it up. Also, dehydrates faster.
I like to have the kids make a summer bucket list! Whenever I do my weekly planner, look over the list and add 1 thing from each kids list! I also do this around the holidays.
Hey Lauren are you able to tell me we’re l could get a wooden riser tray with small wooden beads on it , you have one on your kitchen bench, thank you .🌷 when you make garlic bread next try using whole grain mustard , just spread your bread with butter then spread the whole grain mustard then heat trough in the oven 👍
Hi Lauren. I have been watching your channel for a long time now and thoroughly enjoy your content. I like the dehydrator but I was gonna tell you to look into the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer! It’s a game changer for home spices and herbs and even fruits and veggies and some meats. Tons of TH-camrs are advertising it and loving using it I’ve noticed. It doesn’t change the taste of the items you freeze dry where the dehydration process does. You can freeze dry then powder your garlic or onion or herbs or tomatoes and you have the perfect medium for whatever you need to cook with on hand. Anyway I just wanted to tell you about that product. I want one myself. They’re a bit pricey compared to the dehydrator but people are raving about the ability to save food in comparison to the dehydrator. Take care! Leslie-Alabama
Oh Lauren that lobster Mac n cheese recipe looks amazing! I’ll definitely be making that recipe. Your pantry makeover with the chest for storage is a great idea. Reorganizing my pantry/kitchen storage is my next project. Where do you keep your food? Is there another pantry just for food storage? And I didn’t know that you were no longer a wine company executive. Enjoy your summer spent at home with your kiddos!
Hi Lauren, when my kids were small I wasnt working and we couldnt afford camps. However,we did utilize the church events, free park events and the kids favorite believe it or not,was the library events and classes. These things filled my kids summer for little to no money and the kids had a blast!
HAPPY TUESDAY Lauren, family, and all the fur babies. GOLLY GEE get down with it Lauren. YOU ARE THAT MOM! I am not a home goods person. I am a Vintage/Thrifting for the hunt of the Treasures. But, I do like your boxes you get every month. WOW; that food looked DELISH; ALWAYS CHEF KISS... STTB
oh to see allyour napkins no one can top that ppl think i have alot of cloth napkins placemats etc i have for each season hmph thats not too much and im not buying paper and throwing it away
Hi I’m Breeann 😊I’m a stay at home mom 😂 😆 I feel like that was for a life group intro I just did 😂 Well anyways advice or ideas that we do is fun days a least two or three during the week. We do forts, we let the kids “spend the night in each others rooms” like a sleep over. We don’t let our kids stay the night anywhere because I’m just not ever going to be comfortable this day and age to allow them. We allow kids to stay but not Stay anywhere else but family. We also do movie days where we darkened the windows with sheets, movie. I make pretend tickets, i announce the movie. They get fake money to buy in like a fake concession stand and we buy dollar tree candy because you get those big boxed candies and it’s $1. We have a pool but it’s still fun to do splash pads and community pools near us here in AZ they have a bunch of water slides in the pools. Mornings we will do morning paint chalk (wet chalk) write scriptures for neighbors and just a hi and your needed. ❤ Just plain river times and camping we do every summer. ❤
I, as a kid, either played with my friends, went swimming, or played something by myself. My two boys did the same thing. Maybe only allow them on their tablets an hour each day. You could play board games with them sometimes. If they go to friends' homes, ask their parents not to let them use the friends tablets.
👋 Lauren, How are you? How was your Memorial’s Day Weekend? What did you and the family’s do? How are you feeling mentally and physically? Do you know or followed any TH-camrs similar to you? 💗 💕 💡 ❤ 😊 🇺🇸 ❇️ ✨ 🌙
no screen time? dont have screens. I have 4 boys who are ages 9-14 and we dont have tablets, we hide the remote and my oldest phone is only used for communicating with his baseball team and limited texts with friends during a set window. they play sports together, spend time outside, ride bikes, play with friends or read.

I heard it's better to freeze dry greens than to dry them out.. keeps their color better.. just from watching TH-cam.. Love yput videos !!!
That's a great idea!!! I'll try that!
Technically for us ladies that start “ on time!” For holidays Christmas is 3 months away!! 😊

You should purchase canning jars. The baggies can change the taste.

I use parchment paper in my dehydrator so it doesn’t stick
