My boys were an average team last year and got rid of the problem. It's only going up from here.
We shall see!!
What a bonehead. SP got rid of the only reason they were able to go on that 5 game winning streak. With Stidham at the helm you would've been 3-14.
@@lonniecrosby4820 nah, if you actually watched the games, Wilson's stats got padded by good play out of the receivers bailing him out. He constantly ran into sacks and held onto the ball too long and couldn't see wide open receivers.
@@slightlyaboveaverage2235 but thats literally how he made his career tho. he threw the ball up to some dawgs, the only dawg of a WR we had was Sutton. he will go up for the ball now I will say idk why we didnt get mims involved more cause he was showing some dawg mentality. I'm still dissappionted our defense took so long to click tho in all honesty
@@lonniecrosby4820 Wilson made amazing plays but he only needed to do so because he would take bad sacks and miss reads, I am not sure if Nix will be better or not but I think SP in year 2 with this team will do better overall.
Pretty good video, brother. Broncos fan here. Let me tell you, Broncos are being slept on. Will definitely surprise many out there. Things national media does not know is all the young players developing to starters this season. Ill give you examples. Most likely will be Alex Forsyth at center. Lucas Krull our TE1. Riley Moss at CB2. Strong competition for RBs. Jonas Griffith opposite Alex Singleton. Tim Patrick is looking really good. Among others. Im obviously not the one making the roster or depth chart by any means. Just reports coming out of OTAs and camp.
When the media says Chicago and Carolina are gonna so better you know they don't know anything.
The one thing I do like a lot about the broncos team is that they have a lot of depth and a pretty good amount of younger players
Bo nix’s fantasy point total estimate went up about 40 points this week on ESPN fantasy league.
It’ll keep going higher because he’s underrated. Rushing upside with a high passing volume. Sam Howell finished like qb 5 last season. No shot Nix doesn’t have a chance at better stats with a competent OC system. I hate Sean Payon with a passion but game respects game. He’s rostering the WWE RAW of rosters for the NFL with the Nix pickup. Now he’s HHH. Payton is the main Heel of the NFL from now on.
People are starting to give Bo a chance
@@MetroSportsYT I'm a WAS fan but in my dynasty they were trying to get me to pay Lamb for 1.02/Daniels and I'm a contender not happening, Nix is the value/upside pick at qb right now. People are already trying to sell rookie qbs at their ceilings before they even play a down cause they might not even last that long, lmao. Nix will last 10+ years, EASILY. His low floor is Carr, his realistic floor is Cousins, and his high floor doesn't exist yet as a player comp. Brees+ with not quite as perfect of a deep ball (though about that accurate) but a much better scrambler and ability to rush. Upside is beating Mahomes three times a season. Mahomes is basically The Bloodline/Roman Reigns right now. Bo is like a young Cena, "You can't see me!" Not yet. Not until he gets in the ring will most people notice him.
11:40 the starting tight end will actually be lucas kroll, they will only bring traughtmen in on run formations and heavy sets
agreed. Trautman is a good blocker but Krull has been making noise as a pass catcher
The coach you’re looking for is Davis Webb who is currently the qb coach rising star coaching wise and defensively they hired jim Leonard to be DBs coach who was a highly touted name
Shoutout Davis Webb!
Well, When you're at the bottom the only way you can go is up.
Is Denver on the bottom? They were solid last year
@@MetroSportsYTThey are not, although their not in the top half of the nfl either
@@RealSuperStephen by broncos football standards, they're at the bottom
@@slightlyaboveaverage2235 guess that’s true
Nice to see some people coming to their senses before the Broncos prove all the haters wrong 😊
Facts
The thing that’s been grinding my gears this offseason is if the raiders picked Bo Nix instead of the broncos analysts and fans would be blowing bubbles at them but when the broncos did, their all of a sudden the worst team in the NFL?
Meinerz is for sure up there with ps2
As a star, sure
and we just extended him another 4 years today!!
Denver had to take Bo at 12. Raiders at 13 were going QB, and even if they didn't a lot of talk that rams were going to move up for him to sit behind Stafford
I actually think that LV would’ve skipped on Bo. I don’t have any way to confirm that, but I think they wanted to give Aidan and Gardner a chance this year.
Lol I have no clue where you get that idea from they’re just tanking for picks until they get a qb.
@@MetroSportsYT even then, if your man is on the board, with QBs flying off the board, I wouldn't take any risks. Take him at 12 so no one steals him as you trade back
Dig the show so far. Don't agree with you thinking we don't have a tough schedule. For a 8-9 team I think it's pretty brutal. As a die-hard fan since the early 80's I also don't agree with PFF. We're going to be better than a 5 1/2-win team. We have a very young team that I think will eventually mesh and will produce. Unfortunately, it's just going to take time. Still think we need a veteran ILB like Markus Golden and we should of picked up Eddie Jackson FS out of Chicago over Brandon Jones.
The schedule is far from easy, but compared to other teams schedule I think the broncos is somewhat favorable. I think this team is heading in the right direction and maybe 2-3 years down the line this team will be back in playoff contention
I believe in Bo Nix
Believe in Bo!!!
It's Bo Time
Drew Sanders out for this whole season :( I was excited to see what he can do.
Yes, they're a borderline playoff team that people think will be bottom 5 in the league. Easily our best team since 2015
I wouldn’t say borderline playoff team yet. They’re better than bottom 5 in the league but their more in that middle of the pack conversation
@@MetroSportsYT I mean being in the middle is exactly what a borderline playoff team is, 14 of the 32 teams make it lol. But I think it's reasonable to think the Broncos will be a whole 2 touchdowns better this year which would have put them in the playoffs
Drew Sanders actually tore his achilles couple months ago
😧 how long is he out for?
@@MetroSportsYT easily the whole season sadly, very upsetting because he had tons of potential coming into this year but the Broncos have Griffin who is a solid piece at ILB
People are really hating on them. I think they could surprise for sure
I think they’ll be solid
It all comes down to Nix. This team was bad last year and still won 8 games. If Nix shows any signs of being a starting caliber QB they will have no problem winning 7-8 games. Given the fact that Sean actual likes Nix, I see no way the QB production will be any worse than it was last year because Sean can actually run what he wants instead of only calling what an aging Wilson was capable of.
Facts. This teams entire season relies on QB play. They lack star power but if Bo can be a star that changes a lot
@MetroSportsYT I think his ceiling is probably somewhere around the 15th best QB in the league. The key will be how well Sean makes things go around him that can elevate things. Some people are completely out on Sean and I get that based on the Russ optics. That shouldn't change the fact that he's been a top tier play caller in the league. Russ just wasn't the guy to run his offense. We'll see if Nix is. I'll say if Nix doesn't look good with Sean I highly doubt he'll work out anywhere else.
You mean his rookie season ceiling? His overall ceiling is higher than Purdy who is a consensus top 10 qb nowadays. He’s gonna surprise in the league he’s the definition of a sleeper
@maskcollector6949 he might produce like a top 10 QB but I think the play caller would be a significant factor there. Just like I don't think Purdy would look nearly as good on another team. Because of that Purdy isn't top 10 imo. Still good, but he's a QB you win with and not because of.
@@ddman1354 Purdy is very much tied to Shanahan's system as far as this level of success but his ability to progress through reads and get rid of the ball quickly keeps him viable as at least as a backup elsewhere, though I agree. That's why I'm comparing Nix (who has a lot higher floor and ceiling than Purdy imo) who would fit in MANY systems but fits best in Sean Payton's, where he conveniently landed. I get saying Purdy isn't top 10, but you'll see him on a lot of top 5 lists just because production is king at the end of the day - it's a team sport, not a jackoff session. I think the era of qb's putting teams on their backs are going to die off in lieu of more pointguard-esque qbs like Nix and Purdy. Who have far higher chances of SB rings than mostly rushing qbs. The others are flashier but they aren't technically better when you break it down. Purdy finished 6th in ppr in 2023 so even in fantasy he's top 10. People (even scouts - predominantly 20-something year old spoiled brats from what I've noticed) and media are just awful at assessing qbs. It's skewed the public vision on what justifies a skilled qb vs a flashy one.
Idk if the broncos are GOOD but Vegas' line at 5.5 wins is free
yeah they're better than a 5 win team in my opinion
Drew Sanders has a injury
Will it affect this upcoming season?
@MetroSportsYT yeah torn Achilles. That's why they went and got cody Barton
They are going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2024, maybe even THE worst.
The thing is: chaos. Every year, some teams we expect to dominate don’t even make the playoffs, and some teams that are expected to be some of the worst teams in the NFL sneak into the playoffs.
There is a chance that the Broncos could be the 2025 version of the latter, but this team is at least a year away from realistically competing for a playoff spot.
I can see your point. I don’t think Denver is close to making the playoffs yet, unless Nix is great. We’ll have to wait and see though!
I think this teams biggest problem is the coach. Idk how more people are talking about it, but this team was the 1st or 2nd best defense in the league two year ago and then after Payton they become a bottom 5 defense. That’s a huge fall off.
I don’t think the broncos would switch off him, but I really do think the broncos need to move on from Payton if the team can’t show any upside this year.
Losing Ejiro Evero is a huge factor in why they’re defense has regressed
@@Colton2418 that’s fair, though I’d argue one of the skills of a HC is being able to hire good coordinators. So if he is hiring a dude so bad it brings the best defense in the league to bottom 5, that’s still a huge knock on Payton
@trentwise3762 the defensive roster is SO much worse now than it was a couple years ago. That decline began much before Sean was in the building. Specifically losing Chubb and Von off the edge really hurt the defensive unit.
@@ddman1354 it was almost the same team the year he took over. It’s different now year, but there were only a couple players who weren’t there the year after. The main one being Bradley Chubb. Who I’ll accept would cause a big drop in the defensive efficiency, but besides him they didn’t lose anyone who would cause them to become the 2nd worst defense in the league
@trentwise3762 the stats of their second worst defense in the league is such a flawed nunber in general. The first four weeks of the season absolutely tanked any potential of the defensive numbers looking good. Taking Essang Bassey and Damari Mathis off the field at CB made a world of difference overall. And you can really only give credit to Payton for allowing Vance Joseph the time to figure things out in his first year back with the team. The defense not only improved but they forced by far the highest number of turnovers through the middle third of the season. Vance has to prove he can continue that with a less than ideal group of talent to work with, but if he can keep the defense playing at the average level that they were for the final 2/3 of the year they'll be fine defensively. Then it comes down to how well Bo Nix and Sean Payton can work together. Either way it's hard to see the team doing well because they just don't have start power, but I'll be shocked if the defense measures out anywhere close to the bottom of the league again.
Drew sanders is out for most or all of the year..
They can only be underrated once they prove it. Until then, they suck.
On paper this is the worst team in football!
We shall see!
Brees made Payton, Nix is nowhere close to Brees (he won’t be a starter for any team in 2-3 years)
I think it’s way to early to say this, especially when Bo hasn’t played a single NFL snap lol
@@MetroSportsYT watch his tape before he was carried by a system and was playing the worst defenses in cfb weekly
@@HappyTrillmore That doesn't mean squat in the NFL.
