Happy 40th year Emma. That was a wonderful collection. I might be odd, but I have a 12 set of Holbein pastels and I don't really like them. I find them dull. But I love the Derwent Procolours. They are very paper dependant. I like using them on Amazon paper. They layer well on that. They are hopeless in Johanna Basford books. So seek out the paper for the full enjoyment. Light layers and they just keep going.
Posca's come in brush nibs as well. 😁 They're a bit hard to find, but I've got a black and a white Posca in brush nib. I was able to find black and white on Amazon.

Yes, the Holbeins from the Discovery Mall Japan site are genuine. You can also get them from Amazon Japan now as well. The soft white is reputed to be the best white pencil on the market but you really do have to treat it like a fragile baby. What a lovely birthday haul, and thanks so much for sharing.

You guessed it, the Enchanted Forest. There are bigger versions as well. The cardstock is great, takes watercolour without a blink. Have fun!

I have the Black Editions - omg! It's like coloring with pigmented butter! They are so lush!!!! I have NEVER had a bad product from Faber Castell. They are such a solid company, and I trust in their products 1000%.
Wonderful haul, Emma. Colouring with K has a flip through and completed page of the Stephanie Law book. I had seen the book at a craft store called JoAnn’s here in the US, and after I saw K flip through it, I went back and got it. I want to color in it because it is so beautiful.

@@emmacolours oh so pleased about that I looked on Amazon uk for the holbeins and they have changed the packaging to the box you have so,don’t worry. You will love them as I do and you can get replacements from Jackson’s art x
The Holbein soft white is a completely different pencil to the others! It’s a softer core than the others, and you need to sharpen it with a knife ideally. I was very confused when mine arrived as it wasn’t sharpened and tried to sharpen it with a normal pencil sharpener….nope! It just crumbles. Personally I hate it but I’m sure it has proper artistic uses, I was expecting it to be like the prisma white 😂

I got the same Holbein set in Amazon and it is the gray color box. Wasn’t aware of a blue box. Any insight on this?
The original holbein used to be blue boxes.... It seems to just be a rebrand so not to worry 😊
