I heard Dr. Dre was gay long before I heard any rumors about it. I used to work for the phone company and one of the accounts on my route was a nice apartment building in studio City. The manager of the apartment building told me that a lot of gay people live in this building and that Dr. Dre always comes here at night and leaves early in the morning. The guy had no idea who Dr. Dre was. He actually saw Dr. Dre on TV and put two and two together

Reggie David Ruffin Sr was the lead singer of the temps from 1964 to 1968. 1969 through 1980 he was a solo artist. David ruffin was not a song writer.

@reggiewright I know motown like the back of my hand. David didn't write aby temp songs. They were all mostly written by Smokey robinson and later on Norman Whitfield and Barrett strong. David later worked with Van Mccoy alot. Also rick james wrote a couple of David ruffin songs during his brief (2nd) stint at motown in the early 70s. Typically 60s/early 70s motown artist didn't write their own material

David Ruffin SR. was NOT a famous songwriter but one of The greatest contemporary singers and lead of The Temptations. Smokey Robinson wrote most of the songs for The Ruffin era Temps. David Sr. didn't write anything on his solo albums.

I think that when it comes to Dr. Dre, and any entertainer, when people don’t like them, is someone claims they’re gay. And one thing that spreads like wildfire (and men can never disprove) are gay rumors. And it seems like both of Dre‘s last ex-wives were relationships that ended on bad terms… so how come the ex who wanted to do the most damage to him didn’t put those rumors out?

Bruce's book is essentially Dre's story from the perspective of the right hand man. It's a pretty good read. He doesn't really touch on the gay rumors too much but talks about the falling out at Death Row, saying Mich'elle at one point set him up to get jumped by Death Row people after she acted cool with him, and goes in detail about the Game beef with G-Unit and other stories. Basically said he quit working for Dre because he got stuck house-sitting his wife or something.
