He’s an Odin dickrider. And is a cowardly bully, he backed away from Thor because he knew Thor was stronger but lied that he was not afraid of him behind his back and actually panicked and got frightened when Kratos pinned him to the wall, bullied Atreus and Thrud simply because they could not lay a hand on him. Then again gotta give him credit for not backing away from a fight with Kratos and dying in defiance.

Kratos tried to spare Heimdall but seeing how he would not back down. He had to kill him and plus that would ruin the entire story, of the game and it isn’t that type of game.
So I have a theory that because of Kratos' originals outside of the Nine Realms that screws up Heimdall's ability to predict things. With Kratos it means that he gets nothing and must rely upon skill alone to fight him (notice he can't get a read on Kartos in their fight, stating that he can't figure out what Kratos is thinking). That's also why Draupnir defeats him: it is made of Kratos' blood so he can't predict it. For Atreus though because he is part giant it causes a different reaction: it projects Heimdall's own inner self back at him. Listen to how he describes Atreus when he first meets him: every word could be used to describe Hemidall himself. "You are too eager to prove yourself" Heimdall does all he can to show Odin that he is serving Asgard. Quick to claim tasks are easy or he understands things that others do not. "Due to being overshadowed by a father you can never live up to" No matter what he does for Asgard Heimdall will always be hated while Odin is loved despite how he mistreats people. "You are Disrespectful, entitled, and impulsive" Heimdall is rude to everyone, thinks he can do what he wants without question, and acts without thinking "You are here to help yourself. To manipulate and lie to get what you want" Despite his claims that he is working for 'The good of Asgard' he disobeys his father multiple times (attacking Atreus, abandoning him and Thrud in Hel, going to attack Kratos. He also tries to anger people to get them to lash out so he can claim they were the aggressors) "What a twisted little soul you have" Heimdall to a T, who happily torments his own niece. "I watch your mouth move and I see cities burn" Heimdall declaring that he would kill Atreus is what led to his very death which, in turn, led to Ragnarok and Asgard's fall. Heimdall isn't reading Arteus' mind... he's seeing his own and doesn't realize it. Hell, him even claiming that Atreus will betray the all father? Heimdall JUST DID THAT by trying to kill Atreus KNOWING that is the last thing Odin wants.
It's even more interesting if you consider Heimdall is a dark reflection of Atreus' aspect as Champion of the Jotnar: -Both seek to protect their homes and take pride on their titles and want to protect their fathers from harm. Both are also entitled, disrespectful and reckless, wanting to live up to the expectations of an overshadowing father figure. -Atreus eventually let's go of that mentality and is a curious, compassionate and kind man, Heimdall makes no attempt to change his ways and is an arrogant, cruel and selfish asshole. In a way, Heimdall can be seen as representing the kind of person Atreus would have grown up to be if Kratos didn't snap him out of his "I am a God, I can do whatever I want" phase.
Heimdall is perfect to hate. Everything he says cuts deeply because he knows all of your triggers Anything that annoys you he knows and will do his best to annoy you with it. Led to him being killed for pushing Kratos too far

I LOVE this meeting XD for the record I haven't beaten the game so Idk what happens to him. I just like his design and personality. Plus their back and forth here is pretty funny 🤣 also those eyes 😏 no homo lol
I recently revisited GOWR and I've been thinking about the relationship between Heimdall and his father. Heimdall, in his blind loyalty, seeks to protect his father from any potential threat. He shows a misguided but genuine admiration for Odin and his approval is extremely important to Hiemdall. Then there's Odin who knows how loyal Heimdall is, yet even his death elicited no emotional response from him. He said that "if Brok dies, we are square for Heimdall". The death of Brok, who is a stranger to him, would satisfy the loss of his own very loyal son. There is no parental bereavement, guilt, or vengeance the way Freya and Kratos have expressed. Essentially, Heimdall's loyalty truly was for nothing. Side note, I think it is impossible that Heimdall would not be able to see how little he meant to Odin, which leads me to believe Odin may have used magic to alter how his thoughts show and trick Heimdall's sight (might be related to the tattoo on his head idk). After all, he even concealed Huginn and Muninn's thoughts from Atreus.
Richard Schiff. He has been around for a while. He was also Toby Zigler on West Wing, Mark Swarr in Seven, Eddie Carr in Jurassic Park Lost World, Emil Hamilton in Man of Steel, U.S. Secretary of State in Wakanda Forever, Harper Dearing in NCIS, and Brett Anderson in Ballers.
What I loved about Heimdall is he so perfectly explained to Atreus his core motives and how much of an annoying little shit he was most of the game. When Heimdall clowns him in the fight, I nearly forgave the game for the Ironwood section.
Scott Porter. He’s been in a lot of stuff. He’s in Ginny and Georgia as the mayor and Georgia's bf, he’s also Nightwing in Arkham Knight and Damian Wayne in Injustice.
Just got to this part in the game and was wondering is there a reason his eyes are purple and teeth are gold? All the other aesir gods have blue eyes so I wanted to know what’s the deal with this guy
His appearance are actually very close to the real norse myth. it stated Heimdall has gold teeth and ability to seeing everything across the realms. His purple eyes are side effect of bifrost energy that pulsing in his body. the only thing that different in here is his personality and he did not wearing Helmet, also Gulltoppr are supposed to be a golden horse not some wild beast like creature

Thor’s mind: 1. I’m bi 2. Sif gives me a hall pass every century 3. Recently she cut me off 4. I’m fast as the wind
The way I see in Heimdall is how I saw Hermes back at previous game.
then just wipe it off afterwards from kratos
3:40-4:00
Sheesh. Forget Odin projecting on to Kratos, Heimdall’s just less subtle about his insecurities
I already hated him as soon as he grabbed Atreus' hand and said hello
8:31-8:34
Okay, now it just occurred to me that he’s basically Big Jack Horner from Puss in Boots!
Heimdalls charecter has been put into the flash especcially adding the purple glowing eyes
There's a lot of times Heimdall is looking directly at the player instead of Atreus lol
The truth is, Heimdall and Atreus are far more similar they would like to admit and they see in each other the parts they don't like about themselves.
Oh yes! And this interpretation leads to some interesting fanfiction out there...😏
0:26 immigrant meeting border security
"i watch your mouth move and i see cities burning 🥺"
I love his expression when artreus hold his arm with 2 hands, it feel so disgusting and kinda remind me of homelander
Broo, the voice of odin is in the good doctor
Richard Schiff. He has been around for a while. He was also Toby Zigler on West Wing, Mark Swarr in Seven, Eddie Carr in Jurassic Park Lost World, Emil Hamilton in Man of Steel, U.S. Secretary of State in Wakanda Forever, Harper Dearing in NCIS, and Brett Anderson in Ballers.
5:50 Best part 😂😂
10:57 is the best part for me
Heimdall was a great character. They shouldn't of killed him off
Hahaha true but I still wanted him death xD
@@captaindrake6278 he can read minds bro he could have been useful narrative use if they made more games but it is what it is.
He’s to op to be real future sight against anyone other than Kratos is death
He was destined to die anyway I’m pretty sure, and he was deserving of it. Huge prick and tried to kill Loki
Eh
'Feel free to drink in the splendour of Asgard'. Proceeds to show a bum town
Why’d did bro get scared of a apple hitting his hand tho lol
Everything is tense when you're hundreds of feet in the air
Heimdall being a child:
Thor being a dad:
He made god of war 5 even better great acting
I can't deny how much I hate him. But his delivery on "Yes, I'm going to drop you. Good-bye." Was really funny to me.
Why is the texture on the rope so shitty?? I'm playing on PC and came looking to see if it's the better on the PS5 and nope, still blurry and low poly
OST name that plays while Heimdall is holding Atreus?
9:40-9:47
_igger
D=loki
B=heimdall
My lawyers have advised me not to finish this joke=thor
8:51 Arrows made contact! Hit landed! Heimdall ain't shit.
The thumbnail looks welcoming
Heimdall reaction after reading thor's mind 💀
He wasn't scared thor just grossed him out
What I loved about Heimdall is he so perfectly explained to Atreus his core motives and how much of an annoying little shit he was most of the game. When Heimdall clowns him in the fight, I nearly forgave the game for the Ironwood section.
It threw me off seeing Heimdall as i was used to the MCU version
Y'know mythological accuracy is almost unexistent in the MCU.
Idris Elba really stepped into it this time
MCU versions are so trash now, especially Thor. They turned Thor and Hulk into clowns.
@@blue-phoenix115 Ngl still a thousand times better than DCEU Superman.
@@thenerdlord8894 you wish you fanboy.
@3:54 This is exactly what I just said about Atreus. After he just went on that tantrum previously. Disrespectful little sh** 🤣
He reminds me of Tom Cruise's vampire portrayal.
Heimdall sounds like an actor i know. I can't remember the name for the life of me though. It's bugging me so fkn much
Scott Porter. He’s been in a lot of stuff. He’s in Ginny and Georgia as the mayor and Georgia's bf, he’s also Nightwing in Arkham Knight and Damian Wayne in Injustice.
Heimdall can read minds so you think it is possible he knew about Iron Wood when he read Atreus' mind?
He can read their intent not their whole mind
Heimdall is quite handsome if you ask me
Imagine a fight betweem heimdall and Baldur in his invurnelable state😌
Just got to this part in the game and was wondering is there a reason his eyes are purple and teeth are gold? All the other aesir gods have blue eyes so I wanted to know what’s the deal with this guy
It comes from his power to look into a person's soul.
Same vibe as Hermes
Fenrir is my favorite character on here.
That slash on Thors abdomen is from the first first with Kratos isn't it
Yup
They can't heal like kratos does so it stayed
@@axelthefirefist2797 1. Yes they can, and 2. Have you not seen the dozens of gruesome scars all over kratos’s body?
@@axelthefirefist2797 He couldn’t heal from the cut on his belly due to the leviathan being imbued with Eitr (the world serpent’s venom)
3:41 - 4:00, in that slight bit Heimdall may be talking about himself too
Atreus's armor options in ragnarok were a significant downgrade
Definitely giving me hermes vibes
Why he didn't kill Atreus?(
Idk why heimdall hates giants Thor was one
I LOVE HIM OS MUCH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
He is literally worse than baldur
A lot of spoilers in comment 😢
Yep, don’t look at the comments of a video on an incredibly new game
