This literally brought me to tears. To see how Atreus ran off and made wrong decisions like every teenager does and to see kratos so supportive of him still, was truly the epitome of fatherhood
Seeing kratos actually choke up when the boi embraced him was completely unexpected. Also the group chastising atreus, only for kratos to be the one to calm the situation was completely left field.
I think this scene really shows how much Kratos has developed from the previous game. If this has been 2018 Kratos first would probably have recoiled from the hug and then got really angry for the mistake. Now he hugs his son and tells him it’s going to be ok. It show real emotional development.
Reminds me when I was a complete fuck up in life and at the lowest point I hugged my Dad and that really helped me get my shit together. Father figures are important.
Huh, I've never gone back into the house after the rift closing! But this just gives another show of how manipulative Odin truly is, because he only came there to attack and unload on Atreus for his mistake, probably expecting that it would cause a rift between him and Kratos. Truly a masterfully crafted villain.
I can count on one of my hand how many times a movie, a serie , or anything else made me cry. But this Game and this scene absolutely broked me !!!! I would like to thank so much for Santa Monica Studio for this game what is actually really really more than just a game !!!! Please 🙏 do not end this father and son duo , there is so many opportunities there is so many Gods so many Mythology what this duo could discover and the whole Ragnarök team together like a big family, and even if there is nothing left, the Santa Monica Studio can always create something new !! We believe in you Santa Monica Studio we been never disappointed with your product. Please keep doing the good work and please bring us back Kratos and Atreus as soon as possible ❤️ we’ll be patient of course. Thank you for this experience. God of war games are definitely the best in the history of console games.
Kratos: Atreus has made a mistake. One that we will fix together. Zeus: Everything you have ever known kratos will now suffer because of your sacrilege. This is the reason why kratos doesn’t deserve to be killed by his son.
Can someone explain to me what actually happens at 3:46 please? At first I thought it was Tyr given the camera movement and his reveal but then there’s the whole point about using a shield. Was it just the effect of Freyja closing the rift and it’s the choice of camera placement that has me confused more than is needed? P.S no story spoilers please if that’s the case I have yet to finish the game
Vikings weren't the most well known for their elegance of speech and discipline, so it's basically the verbal exchanges of a high-class barbarian visiting the land of commoner nobles.
Kratos is speaking a 2nd language. Everyone else is speaking their 1st, so they speak more naturally while Kratos speaks more formally. The only 1 this wouldn’t apply to would be Mimir, who’s from Scotland, but he's the smartest man alive & lived in Midgard for centuries longer than Kratos, which explains why his speech is more natural.
I love the way Kratos comes to Atreus's defence, not only as a father, but as somebody who's made similar past mistakes. In many games, I often get bored or roll my eyes at the tedious parts. God of War... doesn't have many of those at all.
It resonates. My dad was the worst when I was growing up, i hated him. He made the wrong decision every time When I got older I realized I couldn't really blame him. I was a very difficult child growing up. But when I was 18, around 2007, he finally admitted to me that he messed up and I was able to respect him for everything he did do. I have my own family now and it's tough, I can only imagine raising me, I was a bad kid. But now I build upon his mistakes and I know he tried to be better than his dad, who was abusive but it was normalized. All we can do is try to take the good lessons and build on them. The bad stuff, we shield our children and try to teach them the best we can. But my dad built a foundation in me. Always take care of your responsibilities. Once I had a child, I learned that I needed to be better. For them. But it's hard.
"Atreus has made a mistake. One that we will fix together." - that is called love.
This literally brought me to tears. To see how Atreus ran off and made wrong decisions like every teenager does and to see kratos so supportive of him still, was truly the epitome of fatherhood
@@jayw8991 same…
Meanwhile a second earlier "GARM?! GREAT BLEEDING F*CK LAD YOU FREED GARM?!?!"
True!!
I thought he was gonna bring the belt of chaos
Man, to see Kratos actually being supportive of his son it's peak character development. 10/10 father of the year.
yeah definitely
Seeing kratos actually choke up when the boi embraced him was completely unexpected.
Also the group chastising atreus, only for kratos to be the one to calm the situation was completely left field.
Mimir: Aye. This is a fuck-up of not insignificant proportions.
“Great bleedin’ fuck, lad…”🤣
2:41 a Spartan never let’s his back hit the ground. We miss you Demios.

The way he asked " what has happened" so calmly and caring is crazy the same God who killed so many people
Reminds me when I was a complete fuck up in life and at the lowest point I hugged my Dad and that really helped me get my shit together. Father figures are important.
This gets me all teary eyed I never thought myself part of this thrown together family until very recently haha
Kratos: "What do I call you?"
Atreus: "B O I"
Sindri’s - It’s you! Oh wait, it’s you! 😂
He had it hard holding a grudge at Atreus at that moment
6:04 Love Mimir’s reaction lol
The others: You fucked up boy! Kratos: Enough! Stop bullying my BOI!
Ironic coming from Kratos because he's one too

“Off your back.” Kratos still wants his son to have that aspect of a Spartan.
enough to make a grown man cry
A man who's been through hell and back and centuries old
Damn right I’m crying and I don’t care
True tho, I almost did too😔
This was a change of heart for Kratos. This would’ve been something he would’ve scolded Atreus for doing.
The music at 4:43 gives me chills
You can see sindri personality changing,
Yeah, getting swat by Atreus as a bear definitely started his downward spiral
Ohhh no

I love how at 8:53 the player is wondering if they can throw Mimir into the fire
First, the squirrel tells us to get ready before we head back into hel. Then he tells us not to delay. MAKE. YOUR. MIND. UP!
I wish kratos was my dad
Kratos: Atreus has made a mistake. One that we will fix together.
Zeus: Everything you have ever known kratos will now suffer because of your sacrilege.
This is the reason why kratos doesn’t deserve to be killed by his son.
In my game, after Atreus hugs Kratos, all my audio cuts out, with no subtitles, and the regular audio returns at the end of the cutscene

Why does everybody who isn't kratos talk like a modern human?
He isn't from their land and from Greek Mythology
Vikings weren't the most well known for their elegance of speech and discipline, so it's basically the verbal exchanges of a high-class barbarian visiting the land of commoner nobles.
Kratos is 1050 yo.

The only 1 this wouldn’t apply to would be Mimir, who’s from Scotland, but he's the smartest man alive & lived in Midgard for centuries longer than Kratos, which explains why his speech is more natural.
I mean, he’s really old
I love the way Kratos comes to Atreus's defence, not only as a father, but as somebody who's made similar past mistakes.

daddy's boy
This video makes me love my Dad ever more . He would do what Kratos does. No Questions
That's exactly how I felt about Kratos too in comparison to my dad!
