I also made some candlesticks from my head board and finished them up with those wood discs from Hobby Lobby and I ran out and just glued on a wood top to a candle (love to recycle)
Oh Julie when you talked about dropping a weight on your face and “only” splitting your lip, I was so horrified and grateful it wasn’t even worse. I love the idea of a pop-up shop. It’s been years since I’ve used milk paint and I might try it again.

But we Aussies call Thrift Shops, Opportunity Shops, or just Opp Shops. We have thousands of them scattered throughout OZ. A lot are run by the usual suspects like the Salvation Army, Saint Vinnies. But a lot are also independent ones in the burbs or regional towns, just trying to raise funds for various charities. Never know what you’ll find though. Anyway, a big shoutout from Melbourne, Australia. Stay happy.👍🇦🇺😁☮️
Everything's amazing but I love the big bread board, I love the Cyprus wood you use. Also, they say "no pain, no gain" at the gym, but I don't think they meant dropping a 12 lb weight on your face! I'm SO glad it wasn't worse, be careful Julie!

I love milk paint but my first attempt at using it was a disaster! I painted a vanity which had a slick finish and the milk paint peeled off in SHEETS😳. Huge mess!

Those huge post you made into risers, did you have any problems cutting them? I had a chunky one and when I tried to cut it with my miter saw, the saw jumped back and the wood broke into pieces. What did I do wrong?
I wish I lived close enough to come shop!! But in the meantime, I will be stealing the idea of the basket and little rusty tins on the candlesticks and make my own!! 😂💝
Those chunky bed spindles that are turquoise and white distressed would be amazing cut up for risers! No need for putting the discs on top either! They are even wide enough to stack!
