Joss: "It sounds great..fair enough I'm playing a 5.5K guitar but I'll grab a different guitar soon"
Me: oh good, we'll get to hear how it sounds through a moderate priced guitar
Joss: gets a 3K telecaster
Poor people: are we a joke to you?
Den-Tin Palevo Joss could make a Squire Bullet sound great. He is human messed up a tad at beginning with tele.
I agree that it would pretty much sound like this through a bullet Stratocaster
95% of the sound is the amp/effects/speaker/eq
awsome
People will have you believe you also need a $$$$$$$ Mac computer to record it properly.
fun fact: This amp pedal played General Zod in the 1980 movie, Superman 2.
Sure was a lot better than Michael Shannon
Kneel before Zod!!
@@Damage_Kase_99 Terence stamp played Zod in superman, Shannon played him in the crappy remake
How is this not perfect? Especially for Rock’n’Roll, but the cleans are great. This is why in the middle of all my (mainly) vintage Fender tube amps is a Micro Terror on top of an oversized drip edge 2x12. For rock it’s better than a Quilter for sure. It’s better than most Marshalls lol.
As someone who owns a tiny terror this is effing awesome. I want one bad.
Nobody:
Gear shops when something with valves comes out: ITs gOT VaLvEs sO oF cOurSe iT'll sOuND BEttEr
Gear shops when a new solid state distortion pedal comes out: oMg iT sOunDs jUsT LikE a vaLVe aMP
For those watching who don't really know about pedals and don't really know about amps... basically, this is an amp in a pedal.
Gotta love TH-cam.
lol nice
It's not just the pre-amp tube. Check out strymon iridium. Its that solid state has progressed massively.
The dynamics are quite amazing. It reacts well to different picking attacks.
2:17
Love how that sounds with the wampler XD
I love it, I'll probably buy it because of that sweet wampler sound
So fucking funny
I’ll be honest, it’s hard to find a really transparent tone, but THAT was transparent!
true bypass for sure ....
Well my dog said it sounded fat as hell with a bit of a scoop in the mids
I would have liked to hear the cab emulator.
Amazing, headphones and a fx loop!
But I really wish they would of demo’d it with an orange cab!
it's a great time to be a guitarist
Looks like the micro terror went to pedal form. Have a great day. My friends.
Yeah the pedal is cool but I need me one of those sofas.
That's great! I hope that they can/will make a Terror Bass in pedal format.
I went with a lighter weight pedal amp, VHT's Redline Micro 6. This small, just didn't see a need for 20W class A/B when a 6W class D works just fine. Throw in a preamp pedal and the Micro 6 will rattle the windows in the house out of a 1x12 & sound pretty good doing it.
Orange won NAMM this year! Instant win for me!
Dude, have you seen neural??? Victory????
Pleb alert.
Yeah great stuff at NAMM, can't afford a lot of it. I focus on what realistically could end up as my gear.
5:15 Reason enough to buy this pedal. That's the sound of rock
This amp is pretty much perfect for cheap. Now I need to sell my Micro Dark to fund this.....
Same here!
I like it very much, but cmn if you already have a micro dark you dont need to sell it, the only difference is that this comes in a pedal format and that it has a boost,, why you dont just buy this one and suddenly you have a stereo or wet/dry rig, I dont have a micro dark i just bought a th30 but they are basically the same thing in a different format.
@@dante316a Good point!
More is more! More gear = happiness...
less is more! Buying ten guitars and five amps won't make you a better musician. Finding the gear that inspires you does
That's a mean price considering you can have it on your board and just with headphones emu out for practice.
A friend of mine has a multieffect Mooer GE150.
He practices with just that pedal and his headphones; no amp, no cab, nothing. Just a guitar, cable, pedal.
Talking about practicality :D
It's reality for a lot of people nowadays. Amps are loud (or at least they were designed to be played loud). And we all have neighbours and family that hates loud.
Actually the tiny terror and dark terror this built from are the same price. 150 bucks.
1:22 was that a single coil hiccup?
Sounds lovely and orangey....with an effect loop you say.... Fits on my board...I got to get me one 😎🔥✌️
Would like to hear some DI recordings...
The high gain on that tele is MONSTER.(stock pickups??) What a great sound.
Awesome demo, sounds AMAZING!!
I love this!!!! Just what I’ve wanted from Orange!! This and a 2x12 and s tele!! 😍
I am tired of relic'd guitars! Nice demo of this little Orange amp!
Sounds fantastic guys! Impressive.
I mean how crazy would they be not to make a DARK STAMP and a BRENT HINDS STAMP JIM ROOT STAMP ROCKER STAMP who knows
This shit has got to just print money right?
Play it with a moderate priced guitar and a solid state amp.
Cool Pedal/Amp for 200 bucks US. I definitely will pick one of these up in 2020.
70s pimp vibe. I actually like it. Very unique
Sounds fantastic
My dyslexic ass wants to keep calling this thing the Terrance Stamp. But to be fair, both Terrance Stamp and the Terror Stamp are badass!!
150£? Awesome!!!
Currently using my Micro Dark for the same idea. I cut the box smaller, no feet or handle. Velcroed to the pedalboard. Hope they took another look at the cabsim tho. The one on the Micro Dark sounds like shite. I just use the front end and a seperate cabsim
Mine has such a loud hiss. Especially the effects loop
Well, some people a actually uses the normal micro terror as a backup or Slave boost amp so making it a pedal makes perfect sense.
The fuzz quality is just part of the Orange voice
With the headphone out I'll bet this would make a great pedal testing platform for trade shows
This sounds great!
Sounds really good. I have the real tiny terror as well
Nice afordable amp. Amazing synth sofa
That's a really solid option.
Great idea to use with helix. I get mine on Friday, will try that set up.
share the experience man, im thinking on buying this amp and a orange cab with celestion v30 to make the sound of mi helix more real please share if it works
@@ventasdisigno3540 my main objective was to use my pedal board with the orange terror in place of amp. Then DI to mixing board for FOH. What I found for my intent and purposes, it did not have the headroom needed for the style of music we play. It sounds great for lower volume crunch yet not for my needs. I ended up selling it, and bought a Helix as back up. I have a great set up for larger shows, custom pedal board, fender and bogner shiva combo, and what I was searching for is a lower stage volume scenario with less equipment, (no amp) etc. Many use the helix with a cab however for me, that defeats the purpose as I may as well use my regular gear. Thats just me tho, it works for others. Best of luck.
Thanks for the demo.Wonder how it would sound direct into a PA.
I didn't even know that I was wainting for exactly this pedal!
OK. I’m getting one of those.
So pleased they've done these as pedals, hope the dark is available too!
they actually mentioned that this is a Micro Dark in a pedal.
bet they are gonna release a “dark” version of this next year
I’ve had a micro terror a dark terror and currently a tiny terror. This pedal (amp) sounds like a micro terror or tiny terror for certain! The dark has more gain.
That Is what I was waiting for! I have the micro terror and I like it but I was hopping to have an effect loop on it and they came out whit this
Who says orange can't do clean? Erm, no-one! Nice review gents :)
Sounds really good. Cheers!
And now put gamchanger audio in loop and its a duble win 2020
Great video guys ! What kind of speaker do you think sound better with it?
Cheers
Great stuff guys,I must have one
Nice demo! This looks perfect for my one man band! Anything to get the gear size down the better! I’ve gotta carry everything. PA, guitars, drums and all. So ya definitely got to get one as my backup or even as my main small venue rig!?!?! Usually use a Tiny Terror so perfect. I would Rather bring my Peavey USA made Delta Blues 210 but to big and heavy for small stuff.
Great video. That orange terror sounds massive with that purple Tele. What pickups are you using on that tele? Thx.
Sounds fucking awesome
"Cheap as shit." That's what I wanna hear! hahaha it sounds great!
“Cheap as chips” was the phrase :)
Awesome
Trying to remember all the other various preamps and overdrives with 12AX7 valves I already accumulated,
and how convinced i was the valves actually do anything rather than just adding a cosmetic glow...???
At least this has a useful added power amp...
You running those pedals through the front of your amp or the fx loop. There is a difference
Sounds fantastic. It would be crazy not to get one of these.
0:19 It's 6:30 am and hearing that pseudo scream I thought my kids are crying for Godssake !
Just got this pedal and it sounds good through my cabinet. Running direct to PA though it only sounded good running a pre amp pedal in to the return and the cab sim/headphone out to mixing desk. Which is kinda weird cause I didn’t think it sounded good with headphones, but maybe it was just the cheap headphones?
I ended up modifying it to be more useful for a direct to PA application or as a distortion box. Too much high end, added a lowpass filter to Volume 1 leaving Volume 2 with the original fizzy tone. Info here: www.moddquad.com/p/misc_4.html
This will be my new backup amp!!!!
I would like to see the Orange Terror Stamp used with the Airis Effects Nebula Advanced Overdrive and a guitar with high output humbuckers to bring on some molten metal mayhem \m/ You might need to add a noise gate like the Fortin Zuul for good measure
Just bought this amp/pedal and omg it plays so well. I’m running it into an old Ibanez Gx30 solid state and it sounds awesome.
That hiccup was missed editing opportunity for a Davie504-esque extreme, blurry close up shot of his face
looks crazy awsome
Nice demo guys thank you! PS Where could we get that Fender the Strat tee? ;)
Could you potentially use this as a standard pedal on a pedalboard? Regardless I’m definitely getting one. I’m just curious how much it can really do.
Seems like it, with the send functioning as a line out. I'll probably use it that way.
Isn't this a valvestate without the cab?
When you brits say, “go grab the Telly”, I don’t know if you’re coming back with a guitar, a telephone or the tv 😂
You need a marcusdluxe display board for demos like this! I'll get one over to you.
Oh, and the amp/pedal sounds crazy good.
great Idea sounds killer also!
How would you say it compares to the Mini Dark Terror? I realize the pedal form is great just wonder is it actually better or different than the mini heads?
I like it either way...I think the pedal platform makes better or at least great sense
Thanks
Jason Sapp they’ll probably do a dark version of the stamp
Sounds awesome! What speakers are in that Hamstead cab, G12m-65 Creambacks or G12H Anniversary?
This is a message from the TH-cam Guitar Equipment Demonstration Video Working Group. As of 20/3/2022 all videos demonstrating guitar equipment must have at least 45 seconds of the demonstrator playing an A minor open chord in all of the various settings and configurations. This should be placed at the beginning of the video. You have 30 days to comply.
pffft, shut up Ravi, who wants to watch a 12 min video of someone playing an A minor chord. We wanna ROCK out to some dad blues RIFFAGE. Dude!
sounds awesome, I want to grab one for my pianet. do they get very warm in operation?
I want that Strat shirt
How would it sound through a Blackstar HT5 amp? Would this be better for Orange amp sound through an HT amp or the Orange Get Away pedal?
Does it have a hum because of no earth wire? My Orange hums like a chainsaw unless i earth it out!
That sounds more like the Micro Terror than the Micro Dark.
Definitely. The Micro Dark feels like it has double the gain of this one.
@@inevitableveganfuture3915 I have the Micro Terror...it sounds exactly like this. Tried the Micro Dark. You are right. Ten bucks says they come out with a Dark Terror version of this.
@@ferox965 of course they will. Also when was the last time they painted a dark terror chassis white?
When the Shape is lower than 12:00 it doesn't scoop the EQ like a Micro Dark. He's staying close to 12:00 the whole time that's why it sounds like a Micro Terror.
ferox965 Pretty sure this has an internal gain trim pot inside. Someone on the Orange owners group Facebook page opened it up and it had one.
3:50 shakes head when hes playing, player looks at him and he starts nodding
The blonde guy with the guitar has the same voice as a young Rich Evans (from RedLetterMedia)
I’m sold! This one I can take home to practice, instead of my TH30 head :-)
Dylan Gruenloh LOL Dude, it’s a deal! This sounds great man!
Would the Stamp still sound good at low volumes for playing quitely in a flat/apartment? I read one reviewer say it sounded thin at low volumes.
Or maybe I can connect the Stamp to my audio interface, then to studio monitors, and control the volume that way?
You can plug headphones in
2:15 got some grit 😍
I want that minimoog couch cover in the back!?🎹👌
Damn and I thought my micro dark sounded good. Will be getting this
Alex Woolridge, your micro dark still sounds pretty damn good. So does mine.
@@andriimartynov83 I even think the Micro Dark sound is far brutal.Just search for the Pete Cotrell demo.
Sebastián Duarte yeah man, it is brutal, which is good in my opinion. But anyway, to each his own.
Which Wampler were you using?....there's so many.
I think it would look great next to an MAM MB33 Retro .... :)
Can this be played silently or do you need a cab connected at all times? I was thinking I could use the line out direct into a DAW and add a power amp + cab emulation instead of using software.
Omg I need that amp 💙
must have!!!
So hold up ... Does this work with my amp or replace it? Also, can I use channel 1 for high gain and 2 for clean? Because I’ve literally been looking for that
1:09 Would this perhaps be a reference to a certain movie? Merica
Ya of course...
Well I know what I’m buying next
holy shit #sold!
