I love these knives and recommend them to any beginner over beavercraft. They are easy to find and reliable, easy to sharpen and hold an edge, plus the handles feel great.

These are what I mainly carve with. Love these knives and how they fit my hand.

I have almost every knife Flexcut makes. Love them!

FYI the Flexcut Whittler's Kit includes the same detail knife (KN13), along with a mini detail knife (KN27), but not the roughing knife (KN14). If they sold a kit with just KN13 and KN14, I would totally buy that! (I have two OCC Tools knives, but haven't tried Flexcut knives yet.)

Which occtools knives do you have?

@@bradtate158 I have a 1.75" roughing knife, 1.25" whittler (their name for it) and a 1" detail knife.

@@arguchik I'm trying to get some OCC knives and it looks like the only place with them is treelineusa, but they have very limited stock. Do you know of another place?

@@TheRichiesInPeru I do, but it looks like most places are out of stock right now, probably because of the holidays. In addition to Treeline, I have purchased from Mountain Woodcarvers. On both sites, I asked for email notification for the knives I wanted that weren't in stock, and in both cases I was able to purchase that knife within a month. A lot of people speak highly of Deepwoods Ventures, but I haven't purchased from them yet. They only sell their own line of knives (stamped with a deer hoofprint) that reviewers I trust speak highly of, and their prices are in the same ballpark as OCC Tools. I did a quick google search, which turned up a few additional sites that carry OCC Tools: Bigfoot Carving Tools, Hummel Carving Co. and MDI Woodcarver's Supply. I haven't purchased from these and haven't heard much about them, so I'd recommend looking online for reviews - maybe ask in the r/woodcarving subreddit.

The handles are too slippery for me. But the steel takes longer to dull than my beaver craft. The beaver craft is more comfortable for my hands but does dull faster. I still use beaver craft more often than this though.

I'm initiating myself on carving/whittling and love this video and the beavercraft one, I would like to give a slight bit of context though: for anyone looking to choose between beavercraft and flexcut living in the EU, the beavercraft kit is 45 euros, this kit of flexcut costs between 90-120 euros
to you, the one with the experience and both sets: what would you recommend in this very specific situation?

That “ smooth feel on this handles are very slippery, (accidents waiting to happen)…… this would b the only thing I don’t likeabout this knifes, i use sand paper #60 grit to get rid of the varnish “ from the handles, for a better more secure grip, everything else is great, a good knfe for the money they cost….. thank you for the review!!!ill give these knifes 4 ⭐️.

My Flexcut 3-Piece set is on its way back to Amazon, for $35 it might be a YES, but overall I hate it, came butter knife dull out of the box. Buy ONE good 1 3/4" knife for $40 for and never regret it.

Never have gotten a dull FlexCut knife. Bought an OCC detail knife from TreeLine and it needed honing before carving. A dull one gets through QC for every company I assume.
