The pharasis were dealing with the spirit of fear for worrying about the Roman. its crazy how spirit of fear make us do crazy stuff God has given us love power and a sound mind. 2 timothy 1.7b

I personally wouldn't say God's delay was out of love, in as much as it was out of His sovereignty, that His Son would be glorified. That's the chief purpose for the delay.
