the problem with this review is that it doesn't have any samples! like okay show me what did u get when u used these lenses.. u r really good at giving us these information.. but really I didn't get any footage!
Very nice video! I am using the a6300 since the end of May. Now I am looking for new sharp lenses. The Sigma seems very solid, sharp and high-quality. I will use it with the Commlite EF-NEX adapter.
The 10-18mm f/4 can be used on full frame from 12mm to 16mm. Be sure to remove any UV filters, as it will cause severe vignetting at 12mm. Distortion is pretty severe, but it is removable in post.
Such a nice vibe in this video! 😊 The 10-18mm F4 is going to be my next lens for the a6500. The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 with the MC-11 Adapter is a superb combo!
If you are going to do the sigma 18-35 just grab a MC-11 for less money. Works great with the a6300 makes it almost like a native lens with some little mess ups from time to time
A6300 will do you as a customer better than the A7rII from a financial point and it meets all of your criteria but remember its not all about the camera its about proper light framing and other elements of a picture that make it stunning. I'd personally recommend an A6300 and a sigma 30mm 1.4 or if you want something a little slower but that is a zoom the 18-105. Do some research before you buy you could even go with the older a6000.
Thanks so much for sharing this I am going to be purchasing sony cameras and now I know what lenses to look for will be looking back to your channel for more tips and advice keep these great videos coming and please feel free to keep in touch we support you...James from Our World TV
SIR.. i watch all the famous tech reviewers but the quality of your review is the best and the style of shooting the video too..not like unbox therapy or mkbhd which are locked in a room so, keep it up..i m know great fan of your work ..i want you to review a cheap camera setup for the ones who cant afforrd much...
Great video mate, great presentation skill, crisp n clear voice..keep em posting ..Can you please do video on best portrait lens for a6300,best wide, best zoom, and installing the sigma 18 - 35 f1.8 on a6300..
10-18mm wins, why? because 1: Smaller 2: cheaper 3: fast and quiet autofocus 4: no adapter 5: wider. Also who cares about fly by wire focusing on a wide angle lens, even at F4 a lot is still in focus and autofocus in video on this lens is amazing.
+drew collins f stop is a feature of lens not camera body. but yes, viewing image off sensor on FF body vs apsc body, apparent depth of field will be shallower with same lens on apsc body.
Just got the Sony A6300 and will use it with a Canon 50mm/1.4 that I bought years ago for my old 70D. Aside from the 50mm/ 1.4, what other lens do you suggest I add? My next trip will be in Mexico for a wedding if that helps. I would just hate to buy another lens that's similar to the one I already have.....Looking for a little variation
What lens and camera would you recommend for me? I need something that shoots RAW and 10 bit. Any suggestions..... And WAIT it better produce beautiful colors. AF is a must too..
Wow, fantastic video! I'm Italian, therefore sorry for mistakes. What lens did you use to make the fantastic bokeh of the video? I would be really cheerful if you answered ;)
ya i like the quality u do ur video its amazing and i wish u to do a video on bst adapters fr sony a6300 plse bcz i am the owner of this camera and i dont know whch adapter to go wth nikon or canon
I have a 35 mm on a sony a6000. How can I zoom by rotating the lens and how can I zoom in in raw? For now, it only lets me zoom by the c2 button and in jpeg...
Are f***ing serious?!! (Sorry). I LOVE this kind of videos!!! You are an amazing videographer, I just love to watch your videos! You are one of the best content creators in TH-cam. Plz upload more frequently!
I'm new to this but I would like to purchase a Sony a6000 with an e mount to a mount adapter for the sigma 10-20 wide angle lense ( the sigma is an a mount) so what I was wondering was if it would still retain autofocus during video
So you can't use a speed booster with the a6300 if you're using the sigma 18-35 since it's an aps-c lens right? Or can you still use the speed booster?
I want to ask 1 question about the depth of field if you don't mind. I heard that f1.8 Apsc lens on a crop sensor will have a depth of field which equals to f2.8 fullframe lens on fullframe sensor. So what is the right dof I might get if I put 18-35 f1.8 on Sony a7rii in s35 mode with max aperture ? Will it be 1.8 or 2.8? Thanks in advance!
Depth of field has more to do with how far away the subject is to the background. At 1.8 it should be the same as any FF at 1.8 at least that's been my experience with it.
I you have 4 grand to blow go for it but if you are asking such a simple question you don't need such an expensive and professional kit. Get an a6000 or 6300 a 50mm 1.8 which equal 75mm. You'll be just fine photography is about learning not about have the best of the best when you don't even know the basics that's similar to getting a nascar car for your first car sure would be fun but fiscally irresponsible and idiotic.
when you switch to crop mode does the aperture change to? like in an aps-c camera? something like happen if u put a fast 2.8 lens in an aps-c camera its not 2.8 anymore but 4.2
The camera will not display the "corrected/cropped" aperture. If wide open is 2.8 on full frame, if will display 2.8 on the cropped sensor or cropped mode.
Hi! Armando. If I plan to use a canon lens 16-35mmf/2.8 IS USM with the Metabones T Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x Adapter on a Sony a 6300 Do I gain one stop ...?
+Rob Kramer Great lens but given the fact you still need to buy an adapter. It puts it in the same price category as the Son native 10-18 which frankly is a better option IMO. Especially because it's native, ridiculously light weight and F4 constant throughout.
+Rob Kramer Right, but I wanted to give a variety of options and TBH the Sony 10-18 is better for many reasons. One being that it's native, it doesn't require an adapter, it's constant F4 throughout which is a big deal, AF is incredible with the a6300 and of course it's light weight too. So for about the same price I'd get Sony over Canon on this one.
Well, for film fly by wire is not a great choice. TBH I'd take the Canon over the Sony 16-35 even though I've shot several videos with the Sony 16-35 and it's a lovely lens. Also, with Canon and a Speedbooster I can get F2.8 with the a6300 which makes it a more attractive option. Yes, a bit more pricier but worth it IMO. Also, something I didn't mention in the video is that with Sony you're kinda stuck in that eco-system. With Canon glass you can use it on multiple cameras like Panasonic, RED, Canon, etc.
I was gonna pick up the 10-18 for my 6000 but decided on a better system. 16mm 2.8 with an ultra wide converter making it 12mm on my aps-c sensor. Yeah I don't get the 10mm but I do get a 2.8. Not sharp on the wide end however Great for vlogging and landscape photos/timelapse.
You start talking about the 'next lens' at about 2:20 and you failed to identify what the lens is. Don't you have a script you follow so you include key information in your videos? Maybe you should.
What is with the sony zeiss 16-35 f4? (only f4 but quiet more sharpen than the canon) Or the 24-70 Gmaster 2,8? both lenses are better than the rest what you showed here.....also the tamron 15-30 is better......this video makes no sence because your lenses are NOT the best.......sorry
the problem with this review is that it doesn't have any samples! like okay show me what did u get when u used these lenses.. u r really good at giving us these information..
but really I didn't get any footage!
I like this kind of videos but that's right, I had to look for samples elsewhere :|
All of these are great options. Great video! Watching in 4K looks great. Was this shot on the a7sii?
Very nice video!
I am using the a6300 since the end of May.
Now I am looking for new sharp lenses. The Sigma seems very solid, sharp and high-quality. I will use it with the Commlite EF-NEX adapter.
Awesome video as always Armando! I think your viewers are really digging these camera related videos, at least I am!
I'd definitely love to see more videos about lenses and accessories for the a6300. Your videos are awesome!
+noleafclover830 Thanks man 👊
more videos like this!! maybe best tripods? or budget tripods that are actually good.
Noted thanks for the suggestion these do help.
+Armando Ferreira awesome thanks! maybe also a good phone mount. been looking for those.
The 10-18mm f/4 can be used on full frame from 12mm to 16mm. Be sure to remove any UV filters, as it will cause severe vignetting at 12mm. Distortion is pretty severe, but it is removable in post.
You're talking about distortion from 10-12mm or 16-18mm on a ff sony or across focal length range in crop-mode/a6300?
I am talking about 12-16mm in full frame mode on an a7 series camera. For 10-12 or 16-18 you will see the image circle, which is not usable.
Thanks. I plan to try one on an a6300 to see how much work is required to remove distortion.
+Es Gee On an APSC like the a6300, it is fine from 10-18.
Such a nice vibe in this video! 😊
The 10-18mm F4 is going to be my next lens for the a6500.
The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 with the MC-11 Adapter is a superb combo!
If you are going to do the sigma 18-35 just grab a MC-11 for less money. Works great with the a6300 makes it almost like a native lens with some little mess ups from time to time
I want my next camera to be able to shoot stunning photos, easily portable, and the latest technology. Should I choose a7r ii or a6300?
A7r ii is extremely powerful and professionals use it you can't ask for a better camera than it
A6300 will do you as a customer better than the A7rII from a financial point and it meets all of your criteria but remember its not all about the camera its about proper light framing and other elements of a picture that make it stunning. I'd personally recommend an A6300 and a sigma 30mm 1.4 or if you want something a little slower but that is a zoom the 18-105. Do some research before you buy you could even go with the older a6000.

+Ismaeel Mohammad Appreciate your comment and I like your video suggestion, noted. 👍
Love these kind of vids. make them on weekly basis
Awesome video!
Can we expect to see the best prime lenses next? That would be awesome. Great video by the way.
Yup :D
Excellent suggestion! Thanks!

hola Armando. buenisimos tus videos.

I really like this video. Very very useful and thanks for the links to all the lenses you talked about.
Continue doing these kind of Videos! I love them...
Great video mate, great presentation skill, crisp n clear voice..keep em posting ..Can you please do video on best portrait lens for a6300,best wide, best zoom, and installing the sigma 18 - 35 f1.8 on a6300..
you need LA EA2 adaptor to convert Alpha Mount to E Mount. That sigma 18-35 is Alpha mount.
And, with very good low light sensitivity on a6300, I'm not sure the extra stop of light matters as much.
f6 apply the crop factor why doesn't anyone take that into account?
+drew collins f stop is a feature of lens not camera body. but yes, viewing image off sensor on FF body vs apsc body, apparent depth of field will be shallower with same lens on apsc body.
Absolutely ,, please more vids like this...
Keep doing these kind of videos! More lenses... Pls!
awesome comprehensive stuff! keep it coming!
Would love to see more videos like this! Also something more pocket friendly!
+Anurag Soni awesome note taken
i also use the sigma 18-35 on my sony a6300. Super crispy (i also use the sigma adapter)
Great video! All of these piece of glass are amazing! As long as you don't use em with Comlite lol. Great video Mando!
I use them with Commlite
And it fails, don't rely on it for professional work. Get Metabones adapter which can be updated via firmware and also has AF too.
Just got the Sony A6300 and will use it with a Canon 50mm/1.4 that I bought years ago for my old 70D. Aside from the 50mm/ 1.4, what other lens do you suggest I add? What gear was this shot with? looks really nice.
Check out my gear list in description.
DO you realize that starting at 2:21 you never mention the name of the sony lens?
Some very decent glass! Nice video!
Wow, fantastic video! I'm Italian, therefore sorry for mistakes. What lens did you use to make the fantastic bokeh of the video? I would be really cheerful if you answered ;)
Here you go: amzn.to/28UJASb
***** Thanks a lot! Greetings from Italy :D
Yes! Great vid :)
You mentioned a A7S2 trick for the 10-18?? Does that mean its compatible with the A7S2?
Thanks again!
+Ben Fox (BenFox01) If you use clear zoom yes. But if you have an A7S2 you're better off getting the 16-35 Zeiss F4. Such a fantastic lens.
It makes me so sad that there isn't an affordable wide angle f/2.8 with optical stabilization lens for the e-mount system yet :/
Nice video!! What brand of tripod mount do you on the a6300? @ 2:21
ya i like the quality u do ur video its amazing and i wish u to do a video on bst adapters fr sony a6300 plse bcz i am the owner of this camera and i dont know whch adapter to go wth nikon or canon
I have a 35 mm on a sony a6000. How can I zoom by rotating the lens and how can I zoom in in raw? For now, it only lets me zoom by the c2 button and in jpeg...
lol the speed booster makes it a 2.8 lol which makes it back into an f4 for full frame equivalent wahooo. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
drew collins you are correct sir
more videos like this and more videos talking about cameras like a7S II and a7R II

Love the shirt man!!!
what would you suggest for a7rii - two best lenses which would cover potrait(nice bokeh) to landscapes ALL ROUND PAACKAGE?
sriracha? kikkoman?
I love your T-shirt taste man...
what next?
great video, very informative.
I LIKE these videos!
am i still allowed to shoot 4k video with my sigma 18-35mm with the metabone adapter ?
Is the camera still weather when you use adapters ?
What about 16-35 from Sony on the A6300?
hi! What do you think about sigma art 24-105 f4 for those camera? or any other more tele lens ?
We have an a7SII with metabones. Is that same metabones compatible with the a6300 if we want to use Canon L lenses?
Yes, that works. However, you can also get a speedbooster which allows you to use full frame lenses and get more of a shallower depth of field.
What would you recommend? The A6300, A7 Mk. I or the A7 Mk. II?
+WinturMjoet NL depends on your usage and type of videos you'll be doing
***** Mainly shooting music videos, behind the scenes of performances and coverages of performances.
+WinturMjoet NL Ok I'd go with the A7SII because it has IBIS and also amazing for low light.
Thanks Armando! I will look into prices in my country. Would the A7 Mk. I still be a good second opinion if I can't afford it right now?
WinturMjoet NL well it doesn't have IBIS and doesn't do 4K. So you'll have to be very selective with lenses you use and not care about 4K
is it better to get a
Sigma-AF-18-35mm-F1-8-DC-HSM-Lens-Art-Series-for-Sony-A
not for canon
ARMANDO what kind of camera do you use to film usually in 4k?
+RJM 1982 Link in description on my camera gear.
How does the autofocus work in video mode when using the speedbooster with a canon lens on a6300?
I want to ask 1 question about the depth of field if you don't mind. I heard that f1.8 Apsc lens on a crop sensor will have a depth of field which equals to f2.8 fullframe lens on fullframe sensor. So what is the right dof I might get if I put 18-35 f1.8 on Sony a7rii in s35 mode with max aperture ? Will it be 1.8 or 2.8? Thanks in advance!
Depth of field has more to do with how far away the subject is to the background. At 1.8 it should be the same as any FF at 1.8 at least that's been my experience with it.
+Armando Ferreira thanks!
And what you think best lens for portrait Sony G-master 85mm for sony a7rii ?
Considering the 85mm and A7Rii are as expensive as it gets, you can assume it's intended to be the best lol.
Elliot Maverick so which you think will be perfect for portraits ?
I you have 4 grand to blow go for it but if you are asking such a simple question you don't need such an expensive and professional kit. Get an a6000 or 6300 a 50mm 1.8 which equal 75mm. You'll be just fine photography is about learning not about have the best of the best when you don't even know the basics that's similar to getting a nascar car for your first car sure would be fun but fiscally irresponsible and idiotic.
Love that T-shirt.
when you switch to crop mode does the aperture change to? like in an aps-c camera? something like happen if u put a fast 2.8 lens in an aps-c camera its not 2.8 anymore but 4.2
The camera will not display the "corrected/cropped" aperture.
+Victor Ramirez yes
Can be a same problems when i using canon 16-35 f4 on 6300 with Viltrox adapter? (without speedbooster)
Does the speedbooster and Canon lenses auto focus works on Sony a6000 as same it works on Sony a6300?
+Music apps Yes, with the new firmware update on the Metabones adapter AF works with video.
+Armando Ferreira and what about still shots?
+Music apps Yes, it works amazing. Watch the video: th-cam.com/video/dUYcIPnOFZg/w-d-xo.html
+Armando Ferreira thanks alot man, and I love your videos ☺
+Music apps 👊
Will the sigma 18-35 require a speed booster if used with the a6300 ?
Nope
+TM not even any adapter?
+Shikhar Bhatnagar just a regular adapter
+TM ohk ...Thanks :)
Don't think so. It is the same sensor size so should work perfectly fine
Will you ever try Fujifilm bodies?
+Tom Takumi Okamoto I want too.
I'll stay tuned for that. Thanks. :-)
wouldnt a 10mm on apsc = ~17mm full frame / Making the 16-35mm the widest of the bunch ?
+M Bee No because the 10mm is an APSC lens which is measured at the correct focal length.
Oops both of you are wrong SEL10-18f4 is a 15-27 which makes it the widest and its not an f4 because that gets hit by the crop factor too bam F6.
I bought the A6300 set up bc of this video> after tax price Canon 16-35mm x Metabones speedbooster Ultra = $1805.32
its gnikcuf awesome!
+GreatAve congrats man!
Tokina 11-16mm f2.8?
If it works on the a7iir and s doesn’t it also work on the a7ii?
Yes
hey something about the Sigma 18-35. on amazon there is a Sony model. Is this not compatible with Sony A series?
Sony A7 line up and a6300 are E-mount.
+Armando Ferreira Great thank you!
did u use fillter to record this video? i feel some cpl or nd filter here
I don't use or like ND Filters.
My dude Mando wearin' a Soy Sauce shirt ayyyeeee!
Good commentary but helps us out with photo/video examples next time.
compa te faltó un demo de cómo se ven las fotos o vídeos en mínimo o máximo zoom. saludos
Para otro video porque si no va estar largo, gracias.
how abut the tamron 15-30 2.8
What lens and camera did you use to shoot this ?
+Snipashotfilms All those lenses that you saw on video and same camera
In most cases, the canon 10-18 is a better choice. It's not as fast, but it is sharper, plus it's only $275.
+Rob Kramer Great lens but given the fact you still need to buy an adapter. It puts it in the same price category as the Son native 10-18 which frankly is a better option IMO. Especially because it's native, ridiculously light weight and F4 constant throughout.
+Armando Ferreira Yes, but all your other recommendations needed the adapter too.
Yes it's very helpful
Love my a6300
cool video bro
your shirt goes well with adobo ^^
Are you Portuguese too? ;-)
how is it better than sony 18 105 f4
very few REAL reviews on that lens. i would love to see someone really dig into it.
We ask for samples, it is so important to show about what you are taking about,
why not the fe 16-35 f4 native lens?
+cdmurray23 That's a magnificent lens too!
+Armando Ferreira thanks, it just seemed odd to include the Canon+ adapter but not the native for 400-500 less.
+Armando Ferreira OK thanks
I prefer the Tamron 15-30
My most inexpensive of the bunch at around $700-$800... nice, I'm still broke from purchasing my kit a6300!! Nice video though
J_Grindel buy second hand
Only missed some samples
will this work in a a6000?
yes
Exploring With Toive which adapter would you recommend me to fit this canon lens?
I don't have any own experience but a6k or a6300 has same mount. Look for jason lanier. He has many videos about adapters etc. :)
Big help thanks
damn these lenses are expensive.. I'm thinking about getting the 10-18mm for my sony a6300 though:)
Great job
