I love you Kelsey for posting this!! This was buried in the pantry and I had a need for it. I plugged it in and I couldn't find any power button...well I tried pushing the red dot in front to no avail. I hope you didn't hear me cursing out Cuisinart for making something that wasn't intuitive. Such poor designers! The instructions were thrown out over 20 years ago by other people. They should have at least printed on the base stand: Line up rib/ plunger over red dot to operate. You are a lifesaver! I was so mad I was going to throw it away!!
