  • Deserted places are few and far between in Singapore, so I set out to explore one of the most infamous haunted places, the abandoned royal mansio of the Johor Dynasty, known as Istana Woodneuk.
    With nothing but a flashlight, I try to get the drop on any scary evil things hidden in the shadows of this place, and what I ultimately found may surprise you.

    5:36 onwards, 'lonliness....' this part onwards was beautifully narrated Simon. every word described, how it started, what this structure has witnessed for decades, pride, the war, the fire, from it's glory days, sheltering generations of the royal family, and everything so well, and what will it be in many years to come.. thanks for this video. I see this palace with a different perspective now. how did you do that Simon... thanks again! do more of videos like this pls,

    Brother you got a lot of talent. Yes there are ghost in Singapore. I witness one as it flew about the cantina in Sembawang Shipyard during Chinese New Year. I was a sailor then (1992), I was told to speak to it. I shared my despair and loneliness. Returning to my ship I saw as is flew about the bow and then dive into the strait. I carried this with me todate. I observed my shipmates as they wept bittersweet in their solitude during underway to the states leaving their girlfriends behind to return to their family. Singapore there's no place like it. Keep up the good the good work and much success in your endeavor.

    • @SimonSaysCanada
      @SimonSaysCanada  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It’s still Malaysia’s royal property. It exists in a bureaucratic blackhole, which is why nobody is doing anything about it. The land itself is worth 5 Billions (the B is not a typo)... SG cannot do anything about it, and Malaysia has no incentive to invest or sell it either, so it’s gonna decay for a while longer.

    • @JesusLovesHisCreations
      @JesusLovesHisCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimonSaysCanada so sad that it’s going into waste like that..wonder if SG government can do something like what they do with the Malaysia rail station in SG....that was the reason why for SG properties majority are on lease and not freehold....SG government do not want any of their land ended up in foreign hands and later have to fight it back....

    • @tinateh
      @tinateh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JesusLovesHisCreations I don't think the Johor royal family will let go of the land, it's a piece of the Johor royal dynasty's legacy. The railway posed a security issue so we had good reason to purchase it from the Malaysian government. This parcel of land though is private property of a family, it represents the extent of the Johor-Riau dynasty and the founding of the present Johor royal house. The reigning Sultan who built the istana for one of his wives is considered the father of the modern state of Johor.

  • @JoshxAile

    you know what, your monologue gives me chill. i can really feel the loneliness and how the time will pass and feel how the building carries all the memories since the first day until that very day. and the most chilling things is maybe in one day the building will be ever used again for something and people wont realize what happened years ago in that building.
    good work man keep it up!

      I met a fellow solo explorer checking things out for himself, but other than that, nothing otherwordly or paranormal. Maybe it’s due to my ghost-repellant aftershave, but all told, its more of a melancholic place than a scary one, if you can look past the vandalism and the half-filled muddy bathtubs.

    Sad to see a beautiful building crumble like that. The forest is taking over fast, trees growing up closer each year. Hate the vandalism though. Seen photos of the place in better times with some of the furniture left behind. Read the last people to live there were an expatriate family in the 1970s. Really enjoy your videos.
