I don't think ive seen the OG heroine remain the lead as the villainess becomes her support 🤔 See my full uncut live reactions to the episodes over on Patreon www.patreon.com/BrandonReviews
Alicia doesn't have the correct understanding of what villainous. Even if she does, she still thinks in her own way. She wants to question the heroines commoner status but knows that is not good thing to say. She is just a good girl lol.
She doesn’t want to be a historical bad guy who massacres populations. She wants to be a otome game “villainess,” who is supposed to be all confident, powerful, and cool. Not the same thing. This misunderstanding is also why everyone thinks she’s a weirdo. She has this specific concept in her head that really only makes sense in that genre if you’re genre-savvy. So what happens is she just randomly snaps at people, says all kinds of inappropriate and cringey nonsense, and then laughs inside thinking of how evil she is. It’s kinda cute. LOL.
It's becoming more and more apparent that Alicia's brand of villainy is much more a dark-twisted chuuni - and it's much more adorable than what we get out of other villainess shows.
Don't look down on that spell. That is the same spell that Fern asked from Serie for passing the 1st Class Mage exam. According to Freiren it is a legendary spell.
Alicia: "If you want to die, I will kill you with my pillow cleaning dark magic" What a fearsome threat like a true villainess! Alicia doesnt know that she have passive skill "The Chosen One" (from slime reincarnation) as whatever she do will be "sasuga hime sama!" Alicia's just going around calling herself a villainess, no wonder people will think she's weird lol, I thought she was keeping it to herself. Liz acts like Alicia is one of the conquerable characters lol, gotta make sure those affection points are high.
Alicia might try to do the most Villainess thing ever but it will turn out in a Heroine like action 🤣 I could totally see her use a spell like Yumiella' Black Hole one day 😂 I really liked when she threatened Gill to choose between die or live! That might harsh but it will benefit in the future in my opinion 🤔 Can't wait to see how her entrance at the School and dynamic evolve with Liz will be 🤣
A really cool thing this series does that other Villainess stories don't is it shows how close she and her family are with all of the love interests and their families
she's 100% committed to be a villainess but dont think she remembers the script wait she did do something evil this episode. you only need level 25 magic to clean that town's water. She is level 80 and im not sure if the water is clean.
it looks like they're going for a she'll be a villainess because it's what the king and his court makes her be. with the divergent talk and forcing the prince and liz into a specific role even if the MC would be a better fit. I mean obviously given the age difference any on liz's love interests are off the table for her, still she could actively drive a wedge in between the prince and liz by pushing one or both to realize they don't actually love each other in that way. This would in the eyes of the kingdom make her a villain even if what she did was a good thing objectively thinking. Basically a "You want me to be the bad guy....Fine I'll be the bad guy but don't blame me if I'm good at it." Story line for the MC.
what I'm wondering is that she mentioned in this episode that she wanted to clean the water supply of the poor town, and she said that it was a level 24 spell, but we had a time skip so I'm wondering if she's done it yet or she just forgot about it considering she's level 80.
Great episode, Alicia had the chances this episode to showcase herself as a villainess. But instead she showcased herself more like a quickly child with good intentions. Which is funny how she did miss the mark, with trying to be as fair as possible to her rival. Which honestly goes against being an evil villainess ngl. Especially with how after she learned that the heroine’s magic did go bad. She could have taken the blame by making up that it was her plan all along. Which give her some recognition as a villainess, but instead she choose to be honest and say that was not her intention. To then with grandpa and Gill with grandpa saying that she is a bit weird but she has good intention when Alicia says that she is a villainess. But Gill totally seems like he will in love with her, so she is already on her way to create a harem. And I ship them currently as the age gap does not seem as sus here lol
She does what I do when I'm trying an evil playthrough in Fable. Haha I killed him! Thanks for killing the big bad guy! +500 morality Me: fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
She is not going for evil but rather brutal and logical pragmatist, think lelouch of code geass or a more morally good, less maniacal god complex light yagami, maybe ender from enders game but he is outside of anime and is a pure military strategist not a political one. This also comes through in what she writes on the blackboard, it is'nt gone in much detail in source material either but it can be summed up as isolate them politically then approach as their only friend while keeping a grip on their vital imports to keep them in check, a similar answer to her first question from the king where she suggested aiding a gold mine region independent by supporting its rebels and then allying the new nation and getting a great trade deal with them as the enabler of their independence while being just uninvolved enough to keep their country out of any wars so they minimise their own losses.
_Yeah, I'm not expecting no Yumiella black hole in the sky kind of thing,_ I think her abilities will be much more propotionate to what other Level 80 practicioners could pull off, _just that she's probably 30+ years younger than them._ 😅 It'd be sweet if she got a pet dragon! It would even be something she WOULD think! *_"What more ViLlAnOuS thing could ask than to have a dragon as your pet?!_* 😈" 😆
@@zennvirus7980 I mean i wouldn't say Yumillia was dumb, she was actually pretty smart shes just not wise enough to know how to use that intelligence...much like Alicia. The Heroine is just Bakarine levels of dense.
The scene changes reminds of the the scene changes from “the grace of the gods” and her inner monologues remind me of yumiella. I really enjoy those aspects
Loved Alicia's Angel and Demon suggesting "Villainess" suggestions and end up realizing the whole thing would sound to the Prince that she is declaring her love. And no, I don't think Alicia would go the Yumelia-route. She would need to be into power-leveling. And her common sense would need to be virtually non-existent. Overall, a good Villaniess series.
From the looks of the opening looks like Alicia gonna lose an eye or does she might go all chunni. Either that or it will fit more with her Villain role that she set out to do. Either way it will be fun to see hot this pans out.
Part of me says that it would totally be her just thinking that would make her seem more like a villainess. But I also would not mind seeing if she lost it in combat or something
novel reader here. her losing her eye is one of the most impactful elements of the story. I am so excited for that part of the story to be animated. she's even cuter after she gets the eyepatch! (tho so far, I think from what's shown, her being cute is rather obvious)
The ending with the King gave me a strange vibe. I felt like the King and the 5 main family suspects that the Saint will bring some kind of calamity to the kingdom, because the legend of the roses hinted at that. Hence, they want Alicia to keep an eye on the Saint.
Did you watched Maleficent with Angelina Jolie? I guess this MC will follow an almost similar path, becoming the heroine's mentor, preparing her to become a worthy rival.
as a manga / novel reader, I'm pretty sad with some of the word choices in this episode (either translation or script, idk I'm not nihongo jouzu). specifically the scene where she was trying to break Jill out of his shell is missing a very important element. in both the novel and manga, she starts the speech with "if you don't care about living, it seems I did you a dis-service in saving your life", or something to that effect. there was also a really good visual joke that was missed from the manga. at the beginning of the episode, right after she was thinking back to the medicine, she vows to be more cautious and not cause her family worry. followed by her immediately getting excited about infiltrating the academy.
I like how she is going to the academy with level 80 and not with level 99 like Yumelia did. I'm not sure if Alicia's denseness can ever surpass's Yumelia's.
I like how the show is treating magic as this dangerous tool that’s not to be messed with. Most stories have characters throwing around magic like it’s nothing and no serious consequences will come of it. Not this one. There’s an order to follow and if you don’t you’ll undergo catastrophic system failure. Not new but not common. That’s a plus to me.
i skip ahead on the manga recently and something about that exchange between the kid in the bed and the our villainess that was left out. First the reason the kid is in bed is cause he was bully by the town people and if am remembering the exchange the kid was refusing help before she went into her monologue. So for whatever reason i think the anime remove the context behind that scene.
I became pretty curious about this story, I wonder what kind of relationship the villainess and heroine would have. I wonder if using her knowledge of the otome game would help them, most other anime/manga/light novel have the characters diverge from the otome game plot in great ways. So I went out of my way to try and read ahead. The next part of this comment is a both a joke and a bit of a spoiler if you understand it. I believed that Liz Cather was someone you could root for as well. I could not have been more mistaken. Liz Cather the heroine... is a monster. Pure and radiant, she wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men. There is nothing more terrifying.
I am starting to think she misunderstood what is evil villainess... bcs based on her responses and reactions she actually doesnt want to be evil Evil or even evil, but annoying and progresive instead. At least thats my impression bcs the 2nd most likely option is the author just left major inconsistency in her character which I dont want to believe yet... (3rd is I missed something crucial which is possible after only 3 eps, but I studied and i am working in psychology area for over 10 yrs, and this is my specialty.. just saying)

When your attempts at antagonizing someone just bounce right off.
Alicia doesn't have the correct understanding of what villainous. Even if she does, she still thinks in her own way. She wants to question the heroines commoner status but knows that is not good thing to say. She is just a good girl lol.
The curse of being a good person.

I felt like her way of approaching the kid was a form of reverse psychology.
Nobody taught her the concept of antihero, so she just calls it "a villain".
It's becoming more and more apparent that Alicia's brand of villainy is much more a dark-twisted chuuni - and it's much more adorable than what we get out of other villainess shows.
It does feel like there will be moments where Alicia would do something villainess like, only for it to swerve into something heroine like.
Don't tell me she gonna clean the castle with her lvl 80 dark spell. Lvl 100 would be the country.
Don't look down on that spell. That is the same spell that Fern asked from Serie for passing the 1st Class Mage exam. According to Freiren it is a legendary spell.
@@zam023 I'm sorry. It was a joke 😆

Stays stuff that are good for the boy and calls herself villainous. Even the boy calls it bullshit.
I like how Granpa Will just accept it as Alicia being weird LOL >_
She's operating on that Vegeta logic
A really cool thing this series does that other Villainess stories don't

The opportunity to groom your rival isn't a new trope, but why not!

truly a villain move, forgetting to clean the water haha

This kind of feels like Yumillia meets Bakarina.
Alicia is still smarter than the two combined. And she doesn't just indiscriminately fire black holes into the sky.

Something the story barely touches on is that she apparently died as a middle schooler in a our world. That explains a lot
There are some Tango & Cash vibes with heroine and MC
I can’t wait for more episodes ❤
Of the shows we are watching this is our favorite.
the MC reminds me of the MC of Tearmoon although smarter

if you like visuals novels you'll like them
Reason why is a because he needed a reason to life such as another anime which you can find out about...😅😊😂
